This is a charging board!

It is a simple way to charge up and cleanse your crystals without having to focus on visualisation. Simply put your crystal in the center of a piece of paper, and write around it two categories of words: the things you want to fill your crystal with, and the things you want out of them. Then draw arrows pointing into the crystal for the positives, and away from it for the negatives.

This is a visual way to charge/cleanse without having to maintain focus. I’m certain it could work for any object you want to use, not just crystals!

Good idea!

This is brilliant!

This would be especially useful for beginner witches who are learning. Use it as a visual aid.

Be safe and happy witching~ ❤️

Someone has requested that I compile some links for cleansing, so here you go. A number of these can be found on the [spell directory page] on my blog, as well as [this post]. I hope this helps! :)

I have once again located my old antique paper fan, my amethyst vial, and my tiny music box; all of which have left me quite delighted!

This, as a result of slowly pouring over my belongings as I slowly and lovingly read each and every book I own, watch every movie, play every game, try on every article of clothing, and adore every single object one-by-one!

Then, and only then, will I be able to make the decision of allowing it to stay or letting it go. Personally, I do this cleansing practice every three or four years. It’s crazy how much can change in such a small amount of time!

Out with the old, yet the memories stay.
The clutter discarded, the important remains.
Each item I marvel with curious hands
is to stay or to go, based on my commands.
Should it no longer serve me and impede my path,
I’ll cast it aside without looking back.
For what smothers the hearth also muddles the mind
and those prices add up ‘til they become a bind.

energy cleansing and healing spell

-

this spell isnt necessarily overly complicated as far as components, but it’s a little physically involved, just a note if you’re a witch that has to worry about spoons and such, but on an okay day id say it’s perfectly doable

[what you’ll need;]

• white candle

• light pink candle

• yellow candle

• light blue candle

• sage incense

• three small bowls/plates

• mortar and pestle

• rose petals

• fresh thyme

• sugar

• honey

• lavender water

[steps]

light your candles, then your incense using the white candles flame. make sure you’re catching the ash cause you’ll need it later in the spell as well

in three separate bowls have your rose petals and then your thyme, then mix your sugar, honey, and lavender water into the third bowl.

place the rose bowl in front of your pink candle, charging it with self love, healing, forgiveness, and compassion.

place the thyme bowl in front of the yellow candle, charging it with healing, energy, happiness, and fulfillment.

finally, place your third bowl in front of the blue candle, charging it with soothing, healing, emotional strength, love, and gentleness.

gently grind together your petals and thyme, then add in some of the incense ash and use a bit of the lavender water to bring it to a pasty-paint-ish consistency of sorts, then add in the third bowls contents and combine, add more water if needed to keep the consistency where we need it

take the sludge and spread it across your face how you see fit, be messy if you want, get carried away, be as gentle or chaotic as you feel necessary and once you’re satisfied that everything’s been perfectly scrubbed with your new intent, rinse it all off with nice cool water and pat dry, follow up with a lavender/rose water/tea tree toner if you’d like, and a light moisturizer ✨

IRON Energy: ProjectivePlanet: MarsElement: FireDeity: SeleneAssociated Stones: Quartz Crystal, Hole

IRON

Energy: Projective
Planet: Mars
Element: Fire
Deity: Selene
Associated Stones: Quartz Crystal, Holey Stones
Associated Metals: Lodestone, Meteorite
Powers: Protection, Defensive Magic, Strength, Healing, Grounding, Return of Stolen Goods

Magical/Ritual Lore:

Because iron is seldom found in pure form except in meteorites, the earliest iron available for use by humans was obtained from these strange celestial objects. Meteorites, which were observed falling from the heavens, were used to make simple tools, supplementing bone and stone implements by earlier humans.

Throughout most of the world, humans eventually learned how to remove iron from its ore, which made it available for wider use.

Once this occurred, it was soon limited to purely physical applications and was restricted in magic and religion. In ancient Greece, for example, no iron was brought into the temples. Roman priests could not be shaved or scraped with iron during bodily cleansing.

Ireland, Scotland, Finland, China, Korea, India, and other countries have severe taboos against iron. Again and again in ancient rituals fire was made without iron, altars built without its use, and magical rituals performed only after divesting the body of all traces of the metal.

Herbs were usually collected with non-iron knives, owing to the belief that the vibrations of this metal would “jam” or “confuse” the herb’s energies.

The Hindus once believed that the use of iron in buildings would spread epidemics, and, even to this day, a gift of iron in any form is thought by some to be unlucky.

However, iron did have its place in magic. Specifically, it was worn or used in protective rituals. Its powerful, projective vibrations were thought to be feared by demons, ghosts, fairies, genii and other fantastic creatures.

In China, dragons were thought to fear iron. When rain was needed, pieces of the metal were thrown into “dragon pools” to upset the creatures and send them into the sky in the form of rain clouds.

In old Scotland, iron was used to avert danger when a death had occurred in the house. Iron nails or knitting needles were thrust into every item of food-cheese, grain, meat and so on-to act as a lightning rod, attracting the confusing vibrations that death may arouse

within the living and thus sparing the food of possible contamination.

Classical Romans drove nails into their house walls to preserve their health, especially during times of plague.

Because of its protective effects iron was sometimes thought, conversely, to be sacred, and thieves in ancient Ireland wouldn’t dare to steal it.

Magical Uses:

Iron-pure projective power, active, seeking, blinding, confusing, guarding.

For heavy protection, place small pieces of iron in each room of the house or bury at the four comers of your property. In earlier times, iron fences were sometimes used to halt the flow of negativity into the home.

During protective or defensive magic, wear an iron ring engraved with the symbol of Mars. Or, obtain a three-inch thick white candle and eight old iron nails. Warm the nails by a fire (or in a red candle's flame), then thrust each into the white candle in a random pattern. Light the nail-studded candle and visualize yourself as guarded, protected, secure.

Wearing iron or carrying a small piece of this metal enhances physical strength and is an excellent talisman for athletes.

Iron is also used during healing rituals. A small piece is placed beneath the pillow at night. This was originally done to scare away the "demons" that had caused the disease but can be thought of as strengthening the body’s ability to heal itself.

Iron rings or bracelets are worn to draw out illnesses from the body. This dates back to at least ancient Roman times.

A curious ritual from Germany to cure toothache: Pour oil onto a piece of heated iron. The fumes which rise from the iron will act on the problem.

In old Scotland, healing stones-quartz crystals or holey stones were kept in iron boxes to guard against supernatural creatures who might steal them.

Iron is also worn for grounding, for closing down the psychic centers, and for impeding the flow of energy from the body. This, of course, isn’t the best during magical ritual but is fine when the subject is under psychic or emotional attack, is physically depleted or wishes to focus on physical matters.

Iron horseshoes and the nails that attach them to the hooves are ancient magical tools. They might have first been used in ancient Greece, where they were called seluna and were associated with the Moon and the goddess Selene.

A horseshoe hung in the home over the front door confers protection.

While theories differ as to the “proper” way to hang the horseshoe, I always place it points up. Ideally, it is to be nailed with three of its original nails.

An old iron horseshoe nail is sometimes bent into a ring (if you can find one long enough) and worn for luck and healing.

If you have had something stolen from you and have a fireplace handy, try this spell. Take a horseshoe nail that you’ve found by chance. Drive this into the fireplace, visualizing the stolen object returning to your home. It is done.

There are still magicians and Wiccans who remove all traces of iron from their bodies before working magic, but this custom is fading into oblivion.

Amber, Turquoise, Imperial Topaz, Red Coral, Fire Opal, Moonstone, Opal, all Calcites including Blue Calcite, Green Calcite, Orange Calcite, Angelite, Azurite, Kyanite and Kunzite or any raw or rough stone.

Any stone with hardness under 7 should not be cleaned in salt water. If you are not sure of the hardness of the stone use another method of cleaning.

Malachite should be cleaned by putting it under running water and dried in the sun. Never have salt close to Malachite. Malachite is toxic and should only be used in polished form.

Some healing stones such as Calcite, Selenite, and Dioptase will crumble or cleave on contact with water. With these stones, use incense for cleansing.

Citrine, Kyanite, and Azeztulite are self-cleaning.

After the stones are cleansed and dry, they are ready for use and charging. If the stones are for ritual use, wrap them in a clean cloth of natural material, such as cotton, silk or wool. Keep them in a safe place where they will not be handled or touched by other people.

Quarantined witch tip: keep your home tidy and pleasant to be in by turning cleaning into a magical experience.

1. First sprinkle salt around your doors and windows and in all the corners of your home for protection.

2. Let it sit for an hour and then sweep it all up, sweeping your whole floor while you are at it. Visualize sweeping all negative energy out if your home.

3. Next mix up a magical floor wash with charged water. You can use rain water, moon water, or even tap water that you blessed in a ritual. I added lemon juice and a splash of white vinegar, pictured here.

4. Mop your floor with this floor wash, imagining magic and positive energy seeping into the floor of your home.

5. Take a quiet moment to enjoy the positive vibes of this home that you have taken loving care of.

astralwitchling:

full moon: on the night of a full moon, leave your crystals outside to soak up the moonlight, the crystals will still receive the energy even if it’s cloudy or raining! (but make sure the crystals can safely be in contact with water!!)

sunlight: leave your crystals out to bathe in the sun for a few hours (Amegreen, Amethyst, Ametrine,  Aquamarine,  Celestite, Citrine, Fluorite,  Kunzite, Opal,Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Spirit Quartz, Super Seven, Topaz, and Turquoise should not be left out in the sun!!)

sage/incense:waft the smoke over the crystals, or hold the crystals in the smoke, let the smoke reach every side of the crystal

water: let your crystals soak in a nice cool water bath, or place them under running water, visualise the water cleaning out any negative energy (Calcite, Desert Rose, Halite, Hematite, Lodestone, Malachite, Satin Spar, and Selenite should not be placed in water!!)

sound:place your crystals in front of speakers and play your favourite music!! the vibrations from sound waves will pass through the crystals and reset their vibrations to their original state

flower petals: bury your crystals in a bowl of flower petals, choose a flower that has extra healing properties to help your crystals

visualisation: hold your crystal in your hand and envision a white light surrounding it, then see a white beam pass through the crystal, taking the negative energy away

witchtips:

Smoke Cleansing: Formerly referred to as “smudging” (but should not be because that term referred to a specific Native American tradition and should not be appropriated) smoke cleansing is the most widely known form of home cleansing. One should take a bundle of dried  sage or cedar and let it on fire until it is lit. Then, walk around the effected room or building spreading the smoke emanating from the bundle until the smoke has sufficiently permeated the air.

Saltwater Cleanse: A simple and effective form of cleansing in a pinch. Mix 1 part salt to 6 parts water (1:6 because the number 6 is considered to be “The Caretaker” in Numerology). This can be mixed in a bowl, cup, or even in a spray bottle for easy use. Spray/flick the saltwater in all of the corners of the room/house that you want to cleanse. It can also help to repeat a relevant chant or prayer while moving throughout the area.

Van Van Oil Home Cleansing: Wash down all of the wood work in and outside of the house with Van Van Oil mixed in water (also known as Chinese Wash). When you are finished, throw the remaining wash out the front door, facing East. Finish off by sweeping the house back to front with a brand new broom.

Herbal Cleansing Bottle: Get a large bottle. First, put in a sturdy sand bottom layer. Then, add in the following herbs in this order, one of top of the other; Rosemary, lemon peel, sage, cedar, black peppercorns, lavender, dill, bay leaf, and rowan. When the bottle is full, visualize your energy going into it. You should notice a slight yellow/golden glow when it is charged. Seal it fully and inscribe a pentagram or sigil of your choice on the bottle. Set it by a window and uncap and recharge every 6 months.

Home Purification Burn: Make your own incense out of dried Pine needles, Juniper, and Ceder (1 tbs of each). Grind ingredients together  and burn them while reciting a chosen chant or prayer.

Candle and Salt Cleanse: Get a white candle and some salt. Put the candle in the center of the room that needs cleansing. Pour the salt in a circle around the candle and let it burn until it goes out.

kastayer:

1) place clear quartz chips in each corner of the room, quartz chips retail for 10cents each rather than $3-$4 per whole crystal. They’re just as effective.

2) Rosemary- it’s great for protection and acts as a memory booster as well. It’s very cheap all you have to do is sprinkle it in a sachet and rest it under your pillow for nightmares, or hang it in your doorway as a protection charm. Don’t have any sachets? Use a ziplock bag.

3) use your mind- when I still followed the Wiccan path a fellow sister taught me a visualisation technique to cleanse myself, and my surroundings. All I do is visualise strong misty waterfalls washing everything clean, some people may feel more comfortable visualising a wind storm or fire burning away negativity. Point is spend time perfecting this technique, it’s relaxing, it works and it’s free.

I was in the broom closet for five years, and I can tell you I got very crafty at practicing my craft. Nearly a decade later I still use some of these techniques, because they’re cost effective and they work even if it’s not necessarily pretty.

Here are some ways to cleanse the space where ritual or spellwork will take place.

  • Plants are a great natural filter for negative energy. Not only do they purify the air but they are also a beautiful decoration. Having a couple of houseplants in the room will make the energy very different. This works with flowers as well.
  • Take rock salt or sea salt, there are a few ways to cleanse a space with this.
    • Dilute in water and spray around a room.
    • Put in bowls and place at each corner of the room.
    • Simply sprinkle it on the floor or other surfaces and clean up after a bit. The longer it is left the better.
  • Physically remove it by walking around the house and verbally banish any negative energy that might be around you. Verbally and visually bring positivity back into the space.
  • Smudge the place. Buy or make your own smudge sticks and smudge the space. Be sure to leave doors and windows open when doing this.
  • Make a room spray with either salt (as previously mentioned) or with essential oils and other herbs used for cleansing. Spray it around the room.
  • Sweep the space to rid of physical and spiritual dirt.
  • Ring a bell at each corner of the room to rid of any stagnant energy in the space.
  • Add any cleansing or banishing crystals like black tourmaline or selenite to the room. Placing it in the corners of the room, the windowsill or about all entrances.
  • Burn incense with cleansing properties. Let it burn out and monitor the smoke.
  • Light candles, especially white candles, to help banish negativity. They also give off a beautiful ambiance.
  • Open all the doors and windows! Let fresh air in and let the breeze blow through the house. Change your bedding, curtains and couch cushions and asperge everything.

Cleansing with the 4 elements is one of the first things I learned in Witchcraft and a really simple

Cleansing with the 4 elements is one of the first things I learned in Witchcraft and a really simple way to cleans tools, ritual items and even yourself. The process is really simple and involves passing each item through an elemental representation. The best part is that you can find things outside or use items you already have to represent each element in your cleansing. I still use this cleanse on the reg, especially with new items, tarot and just really anything that I feel like needs a good energy clearing.

The first thing you need to do is find or acquire an item that represents each of the 4 elements, Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Use 4 separate items. I’ve listed below my suggestions but feel free to use whatever representation makes sense and speaks to you.

Element Representation

For Earth you can use small potted plants, dried herbs, leaves, small sticks, crystals or even smooth rocks.

Air representations can include bird feathers (that have fallen off naturally), incense or dandelions.

For fire you can use candles of any kind, incense or metal objects that have been welded like old keys and small trinkets like rings or pendants.

Water is the easiest, use a small glass or bowl of water. (Bonus if it’s moon water.) You can also use sea shells, tea cups, or even brewed hot tea.

Don’t feel stuck to these items only. If something speaks to you and you feel like it represents an element for you, use that item instead. The best representations to elements are ones that have a personal connection to you.

Cleansing

After collecting your items, place them on your alter or on a flat surface where you will be doing your cleanse. Space out each elemental representation in a square starting with Earth. Light any incense or candles if you have them for your element representations.

Now, take the object you are going to cleanse and ‘pass them through’ each element starting with Earth. For instance if you are cleansing a new ritual tool and are using crystals for your Earth representation simply pass the item over AND under the crystal to cleanse of the energy. When you’re done move onto the next element. Repeat until all 4 elements are used and your items is cleansed.

Safe Keeping

Keep your element ritual items in a small box or drawstring bag until next time and leave them in a space where they won’t be disturbed. If you have items you can’t keep such as leaves from outside or water in a cup, you can bury the contents outside or use the water to water plants.

Feeling centered and focused today

honeycoyote:

this cleansing spray is great for either cleansing your altar or sacred space, especially when you are not able to burn sage or incense.

What you’ll need:

  • A 4-ounce bottle with a fine-mist setting. i personally use glass bottles, because essential oils can eat through plastic.
  • Optional 1-ounce alcohol; Vodka works fine. (dont use isopropyl or rubbing alcohol) the alcohol gives the spray a longer shelf life.
  • 2 ½ ounces of distilled water.
  • Essential oils, preferably organic see recipes below

keep in mind that If you don’t have one of the oils called for you could substitute it with something different, or leave it out all together. Feel free to play around and get creative. if you find a mixture isn’t strong enough you can always add more oil.
