I’ve watched Ephemeral a certain number of times and the thing that drives me crazy is we know Gabriel “Neglectful-Father-of-the-Year” Agreste doesn’t just pop in to check on Adrien late at night, that’s completely out of character for him, so there must have been a reason for him to be in Adrien’s doorway right at THAT moment, and the most likely reason is because his son was all of a sudden STUPIDLY HAPPY, which is such a rare and unacceptable occurence in Gabriel’s eyes that it was worth investigating.

I had a meeting about design work literally 2 minutes after finishing Ephemeral so I just had to sit there in the zoom like “I am SO Normal” and pretend everything was fine…

Something doesn’t sit right with me that the fandom keeps running with the “Adrien is a sentimonster1!1!1!” theory. Not only is it silly (Miraculous isn’t that silly) and the creator Thomas Astruc himself had to come out and disprove it, but the theory likes to base itself on fidgety movements/nervous ticks and traumatic behaviors, which to me seems very dismissive.
Not defending Gabriel here BUT alluding that he “controls” his son because he fidgets with his WEDDING ring is honestly ridiculous…dare I say utterly ridiculous. Married people and even anxious people (like me) have this habit with fidgeting with our jewelry. Also it wouldn’t even make sense as controlling sentimonsters have been consistent so far by having the amoked object and using it by having the host hearing/controlling every single move they do.
Adrien being submissive to his intimidating, negligent, abusive father is not “proof” he’s a sentimonster. It means he’s an intimidated, neglectful, abused child.
I get it I’m an oldie in a fandom that contains minors who may not think beyond the theory being “fun” and an “interesting twist” but it’s sick seeing adults entertaining this despite every evidence from the show and outside of it disproving it.
Get it together guys.

I think the only way the reveal could stick before Hawkmoth is defeated, is for Gabriel to be revealed as Hawkmoth first. If LB/CN know who their enemy is, they could reveal to each other and work to keep the truth from their now known enemy. Turn the tables from EphemeralandChat Blanc.
The plan: partial Hawkmoth reveal, Adrien knows what he’s dealing with at home, all cards on the table for a full love square reveal, then mastermind the Hawkmoth takedown. Endgame.
A Flor de Piel - Doris Salcedo
“To create A Flor de Piel, Doris Salcedo sutured together hundreds of rose petals into a delicate shroud that undulates softly on the floor. Suspended in a state of transformation, the petals linger between life and death and are so vulnerable that they tear if touched. For Salcedo, fragility becomes the essence of the work as she sought to create an ‘image that is immaterial.’ The title is a Spanish idiomatic expression used to describe an overt display of emotions. While that meaning is lost when literally translated, the phrase a flor de piel links flowers and skin, suggesting a sensation so overwhelming that it is expressed physically through a coloring of the body’s surface.”

“A Flor de Piel looks more like flayed skin than rose petals. The piece is a large-scale blanket of what must amount to many, many thousands of petals and stitches which the press release describes – much better than I can – as ‘a shroud composed of sutured rose petals’. That word sutured seems apt. There is a sense of the bodily in its skin-like appearance and also a feeling of a surgical mending rather than a more domestic sewing together (though of course the two essentially amount to the same act).
“A blanket of rose petals sounds beautiful and gentle. Though this is undeniably beautiful, it’s a brutal beauty. The petals are stitched together but this is an unhealable wound. The feeling is more of torture than romance.”
