There once lived a pirate come privateer named William Dampier who upon impressing the Admiralty of the British Royal Navy with his first circumnavigation of the world (as a f**king pirate) and the subsequent book he wrote of his adventures became an English explorer. He would go on to circumnavigate the world twice more, and lead the first expedition to explore “New Holland” with the backing of the British King, becoming the first Englishman to see Australia. That’s one accomplished pirate ☠️
Make no mistake though, this man was known for his cruelty ☠️
