It felt weird like someone was holding you, as you open your eyes and look around the room you realise you aren’t in your own bed and when you lift your head you see that you were laying on someone. You take a moment in the dark to try to figure out if the ginger underneath you is Fred or George but then the memories of last night come to your mind. How you had been dancing with Fred, Angelina and Lee in the common room when George had taken you to his room because he didn’t want you to sleep without someone keeping an eye on you. Small smile finds its way to your lips when you feel George bringing your body closer to his.

He had asked if you would come to spend Christmas at the Burrow and the memory of it made your heart mealt. He still wanted you there even if he had a girlfriend.

“Oh no…” You gasp to yourself. “Oh, no, no, no…” You slowly pull away from George’s strong grip trying your best not to wake him. Heather would kill you if she ever found out that you were sleeping next to her boyfriend. George had liked her for so long and you didn’t want to be the reason why he would lose her. You were the one who asked him to cuddle you last night, this was all your fault.

Looking around the room trying to find your own clothing. Hearing George move in his sleep, you quickly pick up your clothes from the chair next to his bed and sneak out of the room, hoping that none of the other boys realised that you were there next to him, not Heather. Making your way to your own dormitory, quickly getting under your covers and trying to fall asleep again. It was still dark outside, but the party clearly had been over for hours. Taking a deep breath in before pulling the cover over your head and trying to ignore the coldness around your body that mere minutes ago was the warmth of George’s body.

The next time when you wake up the room is full of light and all the other beds are empty. Looking at the clock to see that you had missed breakfast and lunch. Letting a groan out as you stretch your body. A headache hitting you like a bludger. Slowly getting up from the bed and changing out of Geroge’s clothes. After brushing your teeth and hair you walk into the common room. Finding Fred and Angelina cuddling up on the couch.

“So is it official yet?” You ask them as you walk closer. They both grin at you happily.

“Hellou sleepyhead and the answer would be, yes!” Fred tells you before kissing Angelina.

“Happy for you two. It was about time that you two got together.” You tell them. You were friends with Angelina too, but not as close as to the twins and the golden trio.

“Now it’s our turn to find someone special.” Lee looked up from his book, he was sitting on the floor leaning against the couch.

“Pretty sure there is a Hufflepuff that’s interested in you Lee. You should just ask her on a date.” Angelina spoke up from Fred’s lap. “And I happen to know that you like her too.”

“Fred you promised you wouldn’t tell anyone!” Lee groans as he throws the nearest pillow at Fred.

“Sorry, sorry!” Fred laughs at Lee.

“Sorry Lee but I’m pretty sure Fred told everyone.” You tell your friend, trying to hold in the laugh as you see Lee’s shocked face.

“Can’t tell a Weasley a sacred they never can keep them!” Lee yelled out before madly turning back to his book, you knew him well enough to know that he was just acting because he was smiling at his book clearly happy to know that the girl he fancied had feelings for him.

“Oi not true I have kept y/n’s crush a secret for years now.” Fred tries to defend himself but earns an angry look from you.

“Oh shut up Fred!” You tell him before throwing a pillow at him too.

“So you have known her crush for years and never told me! Why didn’t you tell me your crush y/n?” You hear George speak as he walks into the common room.

“I didn’t tell him either.” You mumble to George before shooting another angry look at Fred.

“I guess I’m just the smarter and better looking twin dear brother.” Fred states happily to George. “But brother tell me about the lucky girl in your bed last night.” You turn to look at George who looks at you, both clearly uncomfortable about the topic Fred had chosen. But to your luck that meant that no one knew that it was you in his bed.

“y/n have you decided yet if you are coming to the Burrow for Christmas yet?” George changes the topic, just ignoring what his twin had just said.

“Oh, I haven’t yet, sorry.” You let him know, you really wanted to go but you weren’t sure if it was the right thing to do because of your feelings towards the younger twin.

“Please y/n just come it will be so much fun, we need you there mum has a soft spot for you which means she will let us off the hook easily.” Fred tells you, but you can’t take your eyes of George. He looked sleepy and his hair was messy, he had clearly been running his finger through it.

“Please y/n come with us. I want to spend my Christmas with you.” George smiles at you as he speaks, making your heat melt once again.

“Well… I guess it would be better than spending it here alone.” You reply. A huge grin brakes on George’s lips as he picks you up into a tight hug.

“Thank you, thank you, darling! We will have the best Christmas together!” He laughs out as he lets go of you. “I need to write to mum that you are coming! she will be so happy!” He yells out before running into his dormitory. Blush the same color as the Weasley twins’ hair spreads on your cheeks. It made you so happy to see George that happy about you coming to the Burrow for Christmas.

“I’m happy too that you are coming but can’t say that I’m as happy as him.”  Fred tells you. You turn to look at him and you see a smirk on his lips. “Seems like he really wants to spend some time with you away from school… away from other girls…” Fred continues before winking at you.

“I’m leaving.” You let him know before rushing out of the common room, you stop when the portrait closes and you place your hands on your burning cheeks. Maybe this Christmas would be a great one after all.

Before you knew it you packed your trunk and are ready to leave Hogwarts for the next two weeks. Everything had gone back to normal, you ate your food with your friends and hung out with them. Only thing that had changed was that George would sometimes disappear, probably to spend time with Heather. Luckily Heather hadn’t been joining your friend group anymore, which meant that you didn’t have to see her and George cuddle up right next to you. You pick up your trunk as you make your way down to the common room. Fred, Angelina and Lee waiting for you but no George to be seen.

“Ready to go?” Fred asks you and you just nod your head as you all make your way to the train. You all were sitting in a compartment. You were sitting by the window, Lee next to you and Angelina and Fred sitting opposite of you. It was almost time to go and George still wasn’t there and you weren’t sure if he was even coming to sit with you guys. Before you could think more into it the cart opened and Gorge was standing there panting, like he had just ran all the way here.

“Almost missed the train!” He chokes out as he squeezes between you and Lee. Wiping the sweat off of his forehead as he leans against the seat.

“Did you have to sit right between us? There is room on the other side because those two are practically sitting on each other’s lap.” Lee groans as he gets up and sits on the other side.

“I wanted to sit next to y/n.” George tells his friend before turning to you with a sweet smile.

“Well next time just come early and you can choose your own seat.” Fred laughs at his brother as he brings Angelina closer to his body so Lee would have more room next to them.

“Hey it’s okay I can go sit with Harry, Ron and ‘Mione they for sure have room for me.” You tell them as you are about to get up to go look for your other friends.

“No, no, no need for that. We all fit in here. Don’t we!” George speaks up as he pulls you back down. “And if it comes to it you can always sit on my lap.”

“y/n don’t be crazy it’s alright we all fit in here and if someone would need to leave it would be the one who got here last. And I’m sure Heather wouldn’t mind sitting with her boyfriend.”  Fred grins at his brother with an evil looking glint in his eyes.

“Fred stop it.” Angelina whispers to her boyfriend harshly, but you could still hear it.

“Happy that you are coming with us y/n.” George lets you know, you turn to look at him with a smile.

“How could I miss out on Molly’s wonderful cooking, the house elves are great but nothing can beat Molly’s homemade meals.” You tell him with a smile, it was true. Molly did wonders in the kitchen. The rest of the train ride back to the platform 9 ¾ was spent  talking with your friends and George and Fred talking about the new products they had come up with.

At the Kings Cross station, Arturh Weasley was waiting for you all. When you made it to the Burrow the whole house smelled like a dream, Molly had been spending hours cooking dinner for her kids and their friends. When Molly heard you enter the house she ran up to her kids and hugged every one of them, then she hugged Harry and Hermione and lastly you.

“I’m so happy that you decided to come after all!” Molly whispers to you as she hugged you a little harder. She was more of a mother to you than your own. She would send you letters asking how school was going and she sometimes sends you small packages of her baked goods.

“How could I say no to your invitation, Mrs. Weasley.” You smile at her when you pull away from her.

“Dear for the last time call me Molly! You are practically part of the family so Molly is more than fine.” She gave you a knowing look.

“Thank you, Molly.” You giggle before she makes all of you sit down around the table for dinner.

You are last to make it to the dinner table and the only free seat is between George and Ron. Dinner was amazing and it felt right to be here sitting with the Weasley family. Happy that you had decided to come after all, but it still made you nervous to be around George not sure how you should act around him and it seemed like George didn’t know how to be around you either. There was something weird going on between you two but you couldn’t put your finger on it.

The days went by spending time with the whole family, snowball fights, trips to the nearby town to get Christmas presents, game nights by the fire, a lot of hot chocolate, skating on the frozen lake next to the house and just enjoying your time away from school. You and George hadn’t spent any alone time, which made you sad and happy at the same time, usually when you were visiting you and George would sneak into Fred and his old treehouse and just talk about anything and everything.

It was the day before Christmas you all were skating on the lake, Hermione had stayed inside to do some homework. Ginny was trying to teach you how to skate backwards and it was a lot harder than it looked and the boys were playing something that resembled ice hockey.

“Come on y/n it’s not that hard, try harder!” Ginny yelled to you from the other side of the lake.

“It is hard Ginny! I’m really trying!” You yell back at her when you try again and this time you were doing it “Ginny look! I think I’m doing it!” you tell her excitedly. You hear the boys yell something to you and before you can make out what’s going on you you feel something under your skate and you crash down backward, hitting your head on the ice, hard.

“y/n!” You hear your name being yelled out everywhere around you. The world was spinning and your ears were ringing. You see someone kneel next to you, it was Fred or George not sure which because the world was a little too blurry to make out. You can see him moving his mouth but you can’t hear anything anymore. The world was slowly going black as you feel someone lif you into their arms.

Letting out a painful groan as you open your eyes, your head was killing you.

“y/n you are awake!” You hear worried George talk and before you can turn to look around the room to see where he was he was kneeling right in front of you. You look at him for a second and then around the room to see that you were laying on the couch in the living room and everyone was there looking at you.  “How do you feel?” He asks you, his soothing voice bringing your eyes back to his handsome face. You let out another groan, he was talking too loudly to your liking.

“Like death.” You reply to the ginger.

“Mum she is awake!” You hear Fred yell to Molly.

“Fred please, don’t yell.” You mumble as you rub your eyes.

“I was so worried about you!” George’s voice is full of concern and you could feel his hand find its way to your cheek, tracing small circles with his thumb. You open your eyes again to look at him.

“How long was I out?” You ask him.

“Almost an hour, mum was about to take you to St. Mungo’s.”

“George go make some tea for her, let me look her over.” Molly spoke from behind his son, George looked at his mother before looking at you again. Even you could tell that he didn’t want to leave you.

“It’s okay Georgie.” You smile to him. He kisses your forehead before disappearing into the kitchen.

“Are you feeling okay dear?” Molly asks you taking Geroge’s place next to you on the couch. “Here drink this.” She gave you a small bottle of a potion. “For the pain.” She tells you as you smell the potion, the smell was disgusting and the taste was even worse.

“Here drink this it will help.” George hands you a cup of tea just the way you like it.

“Thank you.” You sit up on the couch and take a sip from the tea, already feeling better. “Sorry that I scared you all.” you feel the need to apologize to them, you felt like you had caused drama and stress to others and ruined their day.

“Don’t you apologize, you did nothing wrong. Accidents happen we are just relieved that you are okay.” Molly ensures you. “it’s getting late you kids should get into bed.” Molly turns to the younger kids and makes them go upstairs. All of them trying to protest wanting to be with you and see if you were okay but Molly gives them one look and all of them leave.

“Is it okay if I stay here for a little while I don’t feel like going to bed right now?” You ask her as you take another sip from your tea.

“Yes that’s okay dear but boys stay with her, I don’t want her to be alone after what happened.” Molly tells George before making her way up the stairs. That leaves you, George and Fred alone in the living room. George sits down next to you and Fred sits on the floor facing you.

“I’m sorry it was my fault, I was too into the game that I didn’t see you coming and it was my fault that you fell.” Fred explained what had happened. He sounded like he was about to cry and he looked down so you wouldn’t see his face.

“It’s okay Freddie, I don’t blame you it was my fault that I didn’t look where I was going I got too excited about how I was finally able to skate backwards.” You tell him, feeling bad that he was blaming himself for what happened.

“Are you sure you aren’t mad at me? I’m really sorry.” Fred finally looks up to you with red eyes.

“Of course I’m sure Fred!” It broke your heart to see his red eyes. “Come here, give me a hug.” You open your arms to him and he crawls up to you, still staying on the floor as he wraps his arms around you and leans his head on your stomach. You place one of your arms on his back and the other in his hair, playing with it.

“I’m really sorry I was so worried about you.” Fred sobs out as he hugs you harder.

“It’s okay really, Fred please don’t cry. I’m okay.” You had never seen Fred like this, were they all this worried about you? After a while Fred’s sobs turn into sniffles and he gets up from the floor.

“I-I think I will go to bed if that’s okay with you.”

“Good night Fred. It really is okay I don’t blame you.” You try to assure him for the last time before he mumbles out a small, “goodnight” before disappearing upstairs as well.

“I was really worried too.” George speaks up after a while, you had been in your own little world forgetting that he was still sitting next to you. You turn to face him with a small smile and you take his hand in yours, playing with his fingers.

“I’m sorry for causing so much worry. I will never skate again.” You try to joke because the air between had become so thick that you probably could cut it with a butter knife. George shakes his head at you and pulls you into a tight hug, placing his head on top of yours. “Someone has to keep you on your toes.”

“Never scare me like that, I don’t know what I would have done if something more serious had happened.” He whispers to you. You pull him closer to your body wanting to feel all of him.

“I promise I will try my best to be careful from now on.”

“You mean so much to me I can’t even imagine losing you. I love you so much y/n.” He had told you before that you loved you but this time it felt different. Like it meant more than just a friend love kind of way. You let out a sigh, he would never love you like you wanted especially when he was with Heather, his dream girl.

“I love you too Georgie.” You pull away from him so you could see his face, his hands still around you.

“I really do love you.” His words hurt more than brought you comfort because he didn’t love you like you wanted to be loved by him.

“Sure you do.” You didn’t mean to say it out loud.

“What do you mean by that.”

“Nothing George. I’m tired I think I should go to bed.” You tell him before getting up, his hands falling from you.

“I do mean it, like in a love love kind of way.” George speaks up before taking your hand.

“Stop it, George, you are with Heather.” You pull away from him, feeling the tears burning in your eyes as you run up the stairs into Ginny’s room. Closing the door behind you quietly not wanting to wake Hermione and Ginny up. Leaning against the door letting the tears run down your cheeks freely, placing your hand on your mouth trying to keep the sobs from falling from your lips. Loving George Weasley hurts.

(kinda sorta george x hufflepuff!reader)

14 February

BEST OF GREETINGS TO YOU, MY SWEET,

I am overwhelmed with feelings, hopefully this parchment doesn’t dissolve with my tears as I think about just how perfect you are.

I’m only joking. (Or am I?)

No, I am joking. But that doesn’t change how perfect you are. That still stands. I’m sure you’re wondering why I’m writing this to you rather than just saying it to your face. Well, I thought this would be a good way for me to write everything out for you without forgetting everything I wanted to say once I look into your sparkling eyes.

Every time I try to express how I feel, I take one look at you and suddenly there’s nothing else in my mind but you and everything about you.

Your kindness, which is so infectious, is one of the greatest things about you. I mean, you’re even nice to Percy, and that is no easy feat. Except for you because of how perfect you are.

Your beauty is radiant and I’m surprised my heart is still beating from the way it practically pounds out of my chest when I see you.

The way you are so gracious with me when you beat me at something, like chess or sometimes even quidditch (I will get you back for our last match ). All these things just remind me that you are a force to be reckoned with, yet you’re the only person I ever really want to beat me. Don’t tell anyone I said that. Or actually, go ahead and tell everyone, I don’t care, I’m proud to call you mine.

Anyway, I know how much you love hearing these things in person (did you sense my sarcasm there?) so I figured I would make sure you had something like this to read over and over again, reminding you of all the wonderful things about you that you are too humble to appreciate in person.

But that’s just one more thing that I love about you. Yes. I LOVE YOU. I probably don’t say it enough (is once an hour not enough), but here I will say it to you over and over again so that you never forget.

I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU!!

You have no idea how difficult it is to be in here writing this letter instead of kissing you. SO now I’m going to go find you, hold you, and kiss you senseless. And when you eventually read this, you’ll know where that random kiss attack came from. Well, maybe not, I guess they aren’t so uncommon are they .

I’m off now to smother you with my love. See you soon. I LOVE YOU!

All my love, your Georgie
