Soot sprites! Though, all is not as it seems…

An art group I’m in picked the theme ‘everything is not as it seems’ this month, and I thought it would be fun to join in. I had planned all these more elaborate drawings, but in the end, with the situation in Ukraine, I couldn’t concentrate enough for something detailed. Instead I hope this simple and sweet illustration brings some smiles!

Never gonna give you up get bored of him

My Ghibli redraw for the #ghibliredrawchallenge, I warmed up the whole scene but I think it still looks similar, . Weirdly enough, Howl looks like this one kid of stranger things and I didn’t even use him as reference hahaha

I love Howl’s Moving Castle, I have to rewatch it again after this

Based on a painting ‘The Storm’ by Pierre Auguste Cot painted in 1880! I had so much fun doing this, but it was so immensely difficult for me for a few reasons. However in the end I am very proud of the way it turned out.

I did change a few things, hopefully no one minds… but I don’t think anyone can spot them all hahaha.

If you like my stuff please find me on the Insta, Facebook and Twitter! I also have a shop and post video tutorials — check my website for details ❤️

Laputa: Castle in the Sky! I had a lot of fun with this one (and painting all the flowers!). I’ve long been a fan of this classic Ghibli film, and wanted to do something bright and airy! Here we have a gentle caretaker Robot with their scarf of summer florals and bird friends to keep them sociable. Also invited a fun little guest from Spirited Away :)

I went through the process of how I painted these rocks over on my YT – so if you are curious, go check it out! And I hope that this finds you happy, healthy, and full of good nostalgia. xxoo

About me

Hi my name is Dinorá, people usually call me Dino. I’m an 18 year old half Japanese half Brazilian girl who grew up in the UK and Germany. In July I’m going to move out from Germany to Japan and this blog is dedicated to that. I’ll be sharing my experience, struggles and some tips with you guys so that you can get an insight to living in Japan.

A little more detailed background information:

I was born in the UK and moved to Germany at the age of 5. I speak fluent English and Germany and my Japanese is pretty good except of reading and writing kanji. I speak good Portuguese and have basic knowledge of French and Spanish. I am very into biology and psychology so I might be writing about that on here too.

My hobbies are blogging, dancing and art. I’ve been blogging on Instagram for awhile now and used to have 5k followers until I started anew for a change. I do watercolor and acrylic paintings which I’ll probably also be sharing.

My general goal is to add value to everyone’s life in different aspects. The main goal of this blog is to talk about Japan but I also want to share my knowledge and know-how about art, health, blogging, studying etc. with all of you.

I really hope you enjoy this blog and since I’m just starting out a like/reblog/comment/follow is very much appreciated.

Feel free to message me and have a little chit chat as well!
