January is the month of Zeus here on my blog! So I encourage you all to share your stories (or really anything) about Big Poppa and ask any Zeus related questions!
And since Thursday can be viewed as sacred to Zeus, I’ll be uploading his Tea with the Gods episode then and hopefully every Thursday throughout the month!
So let’s take this time to get to know our Almighty Father a bit better and give praise to the blessings he bestows on us and the world! Praise Zeus!
It all started from childhood when a Thunderstorm was so strong it brought fear into me. The lightning struck so close to my window, so loud, so bright, so powerful, I screamed. Since then, I can feel a Thunderstorm, I feel this presence with me everyday that I really couldn’t understand. Day in and day out, I feel this energy, or presence with me, always, protecting me. But each time a storm happens, I am scared those same train of events will occur again but never did, the storms were just strong.
Storms became a passion in my life, I became so fascinated by the weather and wanted to learn everything about it.
I felt a connection during Thunderstorms, got over the short term fear and felt drawn to the energy. As I grew up, I learned about ancient Greece and Zeus was mentioned. He stood out to me and matched the energy I’ve been feeling but never thought anything of it till I grew up more. Fast forward to turning 20 years old, my attention was turned to Zeus again, I looked into him deeper than I have before. I was so drawn to Zeus, his energy, his awesomeness and Godly powers that never fail to amaze me. That same night I decided to finally devote my heart to him, I dreamed of him, he was standing in front of me, the majestic handsome old but strong man that he his. A smile was on his face as he stepped forward, wrapping his arms around me, holding me, telling me that no matter what happens, he will always be here for me. He even told me he loves me and kissed my cheek before I woke up, feeling happy, feeling peace now knowing who was there all this time, teaching me, guiding me and protecting me all these years, and still does now. Now I devote my life to him, pray to him every morning and every night. I thank him daily for everything he does. Zeus is so mighty, so powerful, his energy is strong when I feel him. I adore him with all my heart. With this statue I have of him, he is not just standing on a shelf, I shower him with hugs and attention in return for everything he has ever done for me. I love Zeus with everything I have in my heart. I am proud to be a follower, and a dedicated devotee of Zeus⛈⚡

Eros was the mischievous god of love, a minion and constant companion of the goddess Aphrodite. He was the one who lit the flame of love in the hearts of the gods and men, armed with either a bow and arrows or a flaming torch.
The poet Hesiod first represents him as a primordial deity who emerges self-born at the beginning of time to spur procreation. The same poet later describes two love-gods, Eros and Himeros (Desire), accompanying Aphrodite at the time of her birth from the sea-foam. In later accounts he is described as one of the children of Aphrodite and Ares and, with some of his siblings, was one of the Erotes, a group of winged love gods.
He married Psyche, goddess of the soul, and she becomes immortal to live alongside her husband. Together they had a daughter, Hedone, goddess of pleasure.
Helioswas the Titan god of the sun, a guardian of oaths, and the god of sight. He dwelt in a golden palace in the River Okeanos at the far ends of the earth from which he emerged each dawn, crowned with the aureole of the sun, driving a chariot drawn by four winged horses. When he reached the the land of the Hesperides in the far West he descended into a golden cup which bore him through the northern streams of Okeanos back to his rising place in the East.
Helios was depicted as a handsome, usually beardless, man clothed in purple robes and crowned with the shining aureole of the sun.
His parents were the Titans Hyperion and Theia, who also bore his siblings Selene (Moon) and Eos (Dawn).
The Cattle of Helios, also called the Oxen of the Sun, were immortal cattle pastured on the island of Thrinacia, who were guarded by Helios’ daughters, Phaethusa and Lampetia.
Pontos was the primordial god of the sea. He was the sea itself, not merely its resident deity, who was born from earth at the dawn of creation. Pontos and Gaia were parents of the ancient sea gods Nereus, Keto, Phorkys, Thaumas and Eurybia. By Thalassa, his watery female counterpart, he was the father of fish and other sea creatures. Poseidon, king of the sea, wed Pontos’ eldest granddaughter Amphitrite.
Pallaswas the Titan god of battle and warcraft. He was the father of Nike (Victory), Zelos (Rivalry), Kratos (Strength) and Bia (Power) by Styx, children who sided with Zeus during the Titan-War. His parents were Crius and Eurybia, and his brothers Astraeus and Perses. He was vanquished by the goddess Athena who crafted her aigis from his skin.
Pyriphlegeton(sometimes only called Phlegeton) was the underworld river of fire and its god. He was one of five infernal rivers, the others being Acheron, Styx, Lethe and Cocytus. Plato describes it as “a stream of fire, which coils round the earth and flows into the depths of Tartarus”. It was parallel to the river Styx. It is said that the goddess Styx was in love with Pyriphlegethon, but she was consumed by his flames and sent to Hades. Eventually, when Hades allowed her river to flow through, they reunited.
Thanatoswas the god of non-violent death and the son of Nyx. His touch was gentle, likened to that of his twin brother Hypnos. Violent death was the domain of Thanatos’ blood-craving sisters, the Keres, spirits of slaughter and disease. He was depicted as a winged youth holding a down-turned torch and wreath or butterfly which symbolised the soul of the dead.
Charonwas the Ferryman of the Dead, an underworld spirit in the service of Hades. He transported the souls of the dead across the underworld river Acheron in his skiff. His fee was a single obolos coin which was placed in the mouth of a corpse upon burial. Those who had not received proper burial were unable to pay the fee and were left to wander the earthly side of the Acheron, haunting the world as ghosts.
Naiades were the nymphs of rivers, streams, lakes, marshes, fountains and springs. They were minor goddesses who attended the assemblies of the gods on Mount Olympos. Naiades, in conjunction with the goddess Artemis, were nurses of the young and the protectors of girls, overseeing their safe passage from child to adult. Apollon and the River-Gods were the complimentary guardians of boys. The Naiades were depicted as beautiful young women, usually seated, standing or reclining beside a spring, and holding a water-jug.
