Been looking at a lot of H.R Giger’s work lately. I love the bio-mechanical subjects.As you guessed I was inspired to do a H.R Giger inspired portrait.Something felt very natural about trying to copy his style. The flow of the shapes just didn’t feel not so different from my own.

Anyway, I hope I did well <3

Jaws Within Jaws

No, this is not concept art from HR Giger, creator of the xenomorphs(those iconic, phallic-headed terrors from the beloved Alien movie franchise).

This is an actual radiogram of a moray eel, showing the creature’s pharyngeal jaws—a second set of jaws inside the eel’s throat.

The eel uses its pharyngeal jaws for food transport. After the eel gets a hold of prey with its oral jaws, it latches onto the prey again with its pharyngeal jaws. The eel then extends its oral jaws forward, while simultaneously retracting its pharyngeal jaws, dragging the prey down its esophagus.

I`ve just started thinking about implementing my style into digital painting to develop and to find more ways of expression, so yeah, that`s kinda an attempt to create something digital:) I`ll also be doing colouring in the future, I`m learning the color theory right now just because, speaking frankly, I`m absolutely nothing in it:)
