Tbh I have been watching the event for some time now and when I saw the prompt for March (Rare pair) I understood that I need to participate with my beloved NejiHina
I’m not sure that my art fits the second prompt as well, but on the other hand we are talking about the Hyūga clan and byakugan, that means there is a chance for all clan’s members to be watched and exposed to others eyes 24/7. At the same time this is exactly what makes them value other people’s privacy more than ordinary people do it.
By the way, I think it is thanks to the byakugan that the Hyūgas are very aware of their bodies in various ways. Since early childhood, they have the opportunity to study their bodies. It allows them to better monitor the state of their body and that’s why the Hyūga can stay healthy and in good shape longer than ordinary people. Besides with enough imagination and a perfect chakra control, more interesting and pleasant uses for the byakugan can be discovered

the title for this art is inspired byone really old NejiHina fic. The basic idea of the fic and my art is similar, but I had quite different interpretation in my mind while drawing it :)
been getting urges to write some naruhina, don’t know where the hell Sakura, Ino & Sasuke came from.
“O-Oh,” Hinata says, when she turns around to meet him. Her eyes goes slightly wide, and Naruto doesn’t know if that’s a good thing or not. “You cut your hair.”
Naruto feels all of a sudden self-conscious, with those pale eyes focused on him; his neck heats up. “Uh, yeah.” He says, with a chuckle, scratching the back of his head. And going for causal, adds, trying to not look at her and failing, “I thought a change might be nice. Does…it look bad?”
Hinata startles at the question which makes himfeelall weird for asking it. Shit, should he have not? He thought it was an okay question. Like, a I-totally-don’t-have-crush-on-you-ha-ha question. Well, considering, his only experience with love was Sakura-chan, which he was very vocal about, shit —
“No,” Hinata speaks, soft and sudden. Naruto nearly jumps from the unexpectedness of it. “No — No, it doesn’t look bad, it…suits you. It looks nice.” She says the last words as fast as she could, growing so red in the face it’s honestly amazing. Naruto could feel his face heating up, as well. Oh god.
“Thanks,” He manages out, somehow, a smile threatening to spilt his face.
Hinata gives him a small, shy smile back. Naruto has never been so glad that he chose to cut his hair.
In the background, hiding conspicuously behind a bush:
“Oh my god, they should get married already. Or get a room. I feel like dying just from watching them.” Ino groans.
“Hn.” Sasuke agrees, even when he loathes to agree with Ino on anything.
“By the speed they’re going at, it will be years before anything happens. That Naruto! He’s so oblivious. How can he not see that she loves him???” Sakura laments.
“Are you sure you sure you should be complaining about somebody else’s love life, Forehead. I’m dying from being around you two, when are you two going to —”
Sakura screetches and immediately moves to cover Ino’s mouth and stop her from saying anymore. “Oh my god, Ino.”
Ino pushes her hand away. “Seriously, if this Uchiha here won’t —” more struggle as Ino tries to move Sakura’s hand off her again “—I’d be more willing,” a purr against Sakura’s skin that makes her shiver, “to have you myself.”
Sakura’s face heats up; Sasuke immediately recovers from his choking fit, decidedly not liking this new development and tries to move in between them.
Naruto opens the door to the bedroom, pauses, going stock-still, before his mouth falls open in a gape and his eyes bulge out and he squawks, “Sakura-chan, are you kissing my wife?!”
There is a long silence that follows, then, Sakura says, dark and low, “Are you fucking kidding me.” There is a murderous glint in her eyes as she glares at Naruto. It’s not looking good, at all, but —
Hinata is laughing; she’s hiding it in Sakura’s shoulder but Naruto can see the obvious tremble of her shoulder and he grins. It’s worth it, even if he might be a dead man in a few seconds.

P.S. I was broken hearted just a while ago because Gaara crushed Lee’s left arm and leg. :’( I suddenly remember the time I hated Neji’s arrogance. Not only Neji, but almost everyone because they always underestimate Naruto. :3 Re-watching all of the episodes from the beginning makes me feel nostalgic. And the opening at ending songs too! I remember my little sister and I used to sing along with their songs. OMG <3

*** I’ve mostly been wanting to sketch, recently. So I just took the first thought that came to me from the song I was listening to–'Could I Be You’ by Matchbox 20–and ran with it. In this picture Naruto is terrified of himself, and the overwhelming things he’s been feeling for a certain friend. *cough* Sasuke *cough*
Anyway, he knows that whatever he chooses to do, whether he ignores or indulges these feelings, will devastate him in one way or another. He can’t win.
This was definitely interesting to do! I immediately had idea of Ino and Hinata working off each other but in different ways and I think (hope) it worked!
