Tbh I have been watching the event for some time now and when I saw the prompt for March (Rare pair) I understood that I need to participate with my beloved NejiHina
I’m not sure that my art fits the second prompt as well, but on the other hand we are talking about the Hyūga clan and byakugan, that means there is a chance for all clan’s members to be watched and exposed to others eyes 24/7. At the same time this is exactly what makes them value other people’s privacy more than ordinary people do it.
By the way, I think it is thanks to the byakugan that the Hyūgas are very aware of their bodies in various ways. Since early childhood, they have the opportunity to study their bodies. It allows them to better monitor the state of their body and that’s why the Hyūga can stay healthy and in good shape longer than ordinary people. Besides with enough imagination and a perfect chakra control, more interesting and pleasant uses for the byakugan can be discovered

the title for this art is inspired byone really old NejiHina fic. The basic idea of the fic and my art is similar, but I had quite different interpretation in my mind while drawing it :)

P.S. I was broken hearted just a while ago because Gaara crushed Lee’s left arm and leg. :’( I suddenly remember the time I hated Neji’s arrogance. Not only Neji, but almost everyone because they always underestimate Naruto. :3 Re-watching all of the episodes from the beginning makes me feel nostalgic. And the opening at ending songs too! I remember my little sister and I used to sing along with their songs. OMG <3
Week 1: Attraction|Day 3: There are one bed and two people, what would Neji’s reaction be?

“Fine, we’ll be staying there for one night,” Neji grumbled.
You gratefully dragged your exhausted self into the only inn in the area, were given the key to the only spare room at the place, with the only twin-sized bed in the middle of the suite.
“Really? A man and a woman…” You mouthed, stealthily staring at your partner for the mission, whose face gradually turned darker the longer he zeroed in on the bed.
“This is the only spare room at this place?” He questioned, baffled.
“Yeah,” you shuffled on your feet. “I can sleep on the floor—”
“And catch a cold tomorrow morning before getting into the opponent’s territory.”
“I’m completely fine—achoo—,” your shoulders shook, and you stammered, “it’s because of the dust!”
You did not know how you ended up in the same bed with Neji, an invisible barrier separating your bodies as you blankly stared at the ceiling, trying to fall asleep. Shortly after, you heard his breathing slowing down and assumed that he was deep asleep. Next, you rolled over on your side to take a clear look at his softly furrowed brows and slightly parted lips. You watched as his chest rose and fell, leaning in to remove a strand of hair from his cheek, and—achoo—
Luckily, you were able to sneeze into your hands as you curled up into a ball to muffle any noise you made. Maybe I did catch a cold, you muttered to yourself and sighed. Now Neji would have something to pick on you tomorrow. And the next moment you knew, you felt an arm draping across your body, pulling you into a very comfortable plane—his chest, Neji’s chest. You gasped, lifting your head to make sure that he was asleep, and sighed in relief when his breathing returned to normal, in and out of his nose peacefully.
“Quit staring at me and sleep.” His muffled voice brought you back to earth and your body jolted in his grasp.
“Y-You’re not asleep?” You flinched, prying away from him but the Hyuuga’s arm did not move an inch. “Quit h-hugging me so I can sleep—Neji?”
Did he just go back to sleep already? You were baffled before deciding that you had no choice but to force yourself into a slumber in his embrace. It’s not really…bad, it’s…warm, you thought for a moment and smiled, closing your eyes and nestling your head against his chest.
His eyes glimmered in the dark as he traced your face tenderly. “How long do I have to wait until you finally realize my feelings, Y/N?”

space opera au because i’ve been thinking about captain neji being tasked with escorting a galactic peace envoy in which ino was its newest and shiniest recruit. they didn’t really talk much at first because neji was busy being a control freak and ino was busy charming everyone and everything. until they were attacked by space pirates and crash-landed on a backwater planet. they had to wait for rescue without murdering each other, since neji was still a control freak and he soon learnt that ino hated control freaks. he also learnt that she wasn’t actually human and the space pirates had been targeting her in the first place. something about collecting a super rare species of aliens that could communicate telepathically and selling them in the black market like trophies. also the planet was super cold at night so there were a lot of cuddling and heat-sharing and neji being paranoid about ino reading his minds during their nightly cuddles because it’s not his fault that she’s pretty and warm and kinda attractive when she’s not running her mouth off.
ino just pressed into him closer and pretended not to notice the frantic, adorable space captain slowly losing his marbles.
