Mt. Paektu is standing in Samjiyon County, Ryanggang Province, in the northern part of Korea. It is 2,750 metres above the sea level.
 The crater Lake Chon is on the top of Mt. Paektu. The area of the lake is 9.16 square kilometres and the maximum depth of water is 384 metres. There are many mountain lakes in the world but none of them is as beautiful as Lake Chon on Mt. Paektu with mysterious colours. Everybody admires the magnificent and wonderful view of Lake Chon at first glance. The main colour of water of Lake Chon is greenish blue. It is colourless to a certain depth from the shore. The water is so clear and transparent that all kinds of stones in it seems to be spreading on the bed. Going further, the colour of water turns light green little by little. As the lake gets deeper, it gradually changes from light green, green and greenish blue to complete blue, which is the main colour of the water of Lake Chon. The blue colour turns dark blue as the lake gets deeper and it is the colour peculiar to Lake Chon that cannot be found elsewhere.

    The colour of water of Lake Chon mysteriously changes into multifarious colours according to the watching position and distance, seasons and weather, and natural phenomena. When the sun rises spreading golden beams, it looks like a gilt plate on the red background. When the beautiful evening glow appears and full moon rises, the silvery and golden waves of the lake are very spectacular. The original colour of water of Lake Chon is peculiar and beautiful and mysteriously harmonizes with various colours, adding to the marvellous and distinctive looks and character of Mt. Paektu.

The Mirae Scientists Street, a monumental creation of the Songun era, has been built magnificently on the bank of the picturesque River Taedong in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea. Skyscraping and bundle-shaped apartment houses have been harmoniously built along the bank of the River Taedong. The apartment houses in the street have been built with architectural formative effects. Each flat consists of a living room, old parents´ room, father and mother´s room, children´s room, kitchen and others fully equipped with high-quality furniture and fixtures. Resting places and sports parks have been built around the apartment houses so that the inhabitants can fully relax themselves and do exercises and the residential quarters have unique greenbelts. Ordinary educators and scientists are living in the palatial houses without paying a penny.

The Mirae Scientists Street is a product of the warm love of respected Kim Jong Un who gives top priority to and absolutizes the promotion of people´s well-being, regards the educators and scientists as genuine patriots and revolutionaries and always pays deep attention to the development of science and technology of the country. He gave a task to build dwelling houses and service establishments wonderfully on the highest level along the highway on the bank of the River Taedong with the apartment houses for educators of Kim Chaek University of Technology and form a full street and named it “Mirae Scientists Street”. And he took measures to dispatch powerful builders to the spot for the construction of the street and gave specific tasks and ways to accelerate the project.

In February Juche 104 or 2015 hecommanded a bird´s-eye view of the construction site aboard a plane. Then he came to the construction site for guidance of the construction. That day he said the officials and builders should complete the street to be handed down to the posterity with the stand to create highest civilization and highest speed. He also instructed that all the structures should be built with unique characteristics to symbolize scientists street and stressed the need to build good commercial service network and cultural facilities as well. Under his meticulous guidance, the street with thousands of flats and more than 150 service establishments has been built only in one year.

RespectedKim Jong Un visited the completed street in October last and feasted his eyes on its panoramic view time and again and expressed great satisfaction, saying a beautiful street has been built. He said it is really wonderful that a symbolic tower has been built on a 53-storey skyscraping apartment house coiling up in the shape of electron track so that one can know it is the Mirae Scientists Street at a glance even in the distance. The brilliant sunrise over Mt. Paektu is the best of the spectacular scenes of Korea. It is exciting and heartwarming to watch the sunrise on the crest of Mt. Paektu, the ancestral mountain and sacred mountain of revolution.
 RespectedKim Jong Un climbed up Mt. Paektu several times and watched the sunrise. On April 18, Juche 104 or 2015 he climbed up Mt. Paektu early in the morning. He stood on the top of Mt. Paektu where strong wind blew 25 metres per second and looked over the far eastern sky. Soon, the sun began to rise. The sun was rising over Mt. Paektu revealing its grandeur in beautiful glow.

“Really beautiful. The sunrise over Mt. Paektu is a fascinating and beautiful view which cannot be seen elsewhere. New day of Korea, a land of morning calm, breaks from Mt. Paektu. Mt. Paektu is the ancestral mountain and sacred mountain of revolution representing the soul of our nation and the spirit of Songun Korea. It is the cradle of the Korean revolution, symbol of victory and eternal beacon of the Songun revolution.“

  The sunrise over Mt Paektu, where blizzard blows, is the spirit of Kim Jong Un, another inborn brilliant commander produced by the sacred mountain of revolution. He is the defender of justice who opens up broad avenue of march for final victory, wiping out the veil of injustice like the bright sun lighting up the universe.

The 7th Meeting of Military Education Officers of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) was held at the April 25 House of Culture on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Supreme Commander of the KPA Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, was present at the meeting.

Also present there were Hwang Pyong So, Pak Yong Sik, Ri Yong Gil and other commanding officers of the KPA and exemplary military education officers, teachers and employees of military education institutions and officials of merit in the relevant field.

KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, made a report at the meeting.

The reporter said:

“The great Generalissimos Kim Il SungandKim Jong Il hewed the arduous path at the outset of the Songun revolution and in this course founded the Juche-oriented idea and theory of military education and wisely led the struggle for embodying them, thus performing immortal feats which would go down in the history of the development of revolutionary armed forces.

Their idea of the Juche-based military education and educational tradition are being successfully carried forward and developed on a new high stage under the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.”

The reporter called for bringing about a radical turn in military education true to the noble intention of the Supreme Commander who provided a big assembly of military education officers to be specially recorded in the history of army building and thus usher in a new heyday in bolstering up military muscle.

The report was followed by speeches of KPA generals and officers.

Kim Jong Un made an important speech at the meeting.

In his speech he highly appreciated once again the achievements the military education officers have made in the military education in the past and indicated tasks and ways for improving and strengthening the military education as required by the developing reality by thoroughly implementing the Party’s policy of making a revolution in military education.

He noted that military education is a very important and responsible work for training core and backbone elements of the KPA and patriotic one of lasting significance for the development of the revolutionary armed forces and the prosperity of the country.

The great leaders always paid deep attention to strengthening military education in the whole period of founding and leading our revolutionary armed forces and energetically led the work for consolidating the core base of the KPA by channeling great efforts into military education even in the period of the most rigorous trials, he added.

He stressed that if the KPA is to creditably discharge the noble mission and duty it assumed before the era and history, it should bolster up the military capability in every way by thoroughly carrying out the Party’s policy of making a revolution in military education.

Pointing out that the aim of the said revolution is to usher in the greatest heyday in boosting the military capability by decisively raising the qualitative level of military education as required by modeling the whole army on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, he said that the Party hopes at present to see the KPA duly become a model and a pace-setter in the society in the education and the work of training talents.

It is the duty of military education for the military schools at all levels to train all cadets as the strongest in thinking and the sense of moral obligation who absolutely trust and follow and devotedly defend our Party and field commanding officers and persons of ability capable of skillfully organizing and commanding modern operations and combats, he emphasized.

The seed of the revolution in military education is to build up well the ranks of teachers of military schools at all levels, decisively raise their responsibility and role and the said revolution is, in essence, the work for bringing about a radical change among teachers, he said, and went on:

The main link in the chain efforts for making the said revolution is to arouse great enthusiasm for learning among cadets and they are main players in the said revolution.

The main thrust of the said revolution is to effect steady innovation in the contents and methods of education. It is necessary to focus efforts on improving educational contents and methods as required by the era and developing revolution.

In order to thoroughly implement the Party’s policy of making a revolution in military education it is necessary to improve the educational administration and regularize and standardize the management and operation of schools.

He underscored the need to properly establish the system of guidance over military education, raise the responsibility and role of guiding officers and improve the Party’s guidance over the military education.

A letter of pledge to him was adopted at the meeting.

The education of the rising generation is an important issue related to the future development of the country. The Workers´ Party of Korea paid deep concern to education even during the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War against the US imperialists in the 1950s.
   When the US imperialists provoked the Korean war on June 25, 1950, the great leader President Kim Il Sung reorganized the educational work on a war footing and wisely led the struggle to actively promote it even in the difficult circumstances.
 PresidentKim Il Sung saw that separate lessons were given at schools of different levels and the schools were equipped with air-raid shelters for the life and security of students and evacuated some educational organs to safe places.

  Kim Un Gyong, lecturer of the Jonsung Revolutionary Museum, says:

“It was not easy to continue education in the difficult conditions of the war. In Pyongyang City alone, buildings of universities and colleges and tens of secondary and primary schools were all burnt and destroyed by the brutal US imperialists. President Kim Il Sung aroused the whole party and people to the struggle for rehabilitating the destroyed schools and ensuring the educational conditions and wisely led the work to keep training teachers to fully meet the demand for teachers.”

  President Kim Il Sung called back the scholars and university teachers from the front to keep writing textbooks and sent a large quantity of paper for publication of textbooks and study of the students during the war. Though the transport of war supplies was on the strain, he took revolutionary measures to transport a large quantity of textbooks, education materials, experimental equipment and teaching aids. His warm love for the rising generation is brilliantly recorded in the history of the Fatherland Liberation War.

  In the difficult circumstances of the war, President Kim Il Sung provided all conditions for successful education and called back students from the front to the universities and visited a university under a shower of shells. And he taught that the students should study hard for the motherland to win the war. He also kindly taught the educators about the revolutionary method of education applied during the anti-Japanese armed struggle and took all measures for teachers not to feel any inconvenience in their life. Under his loving care, the school bell rang far and wide as an echo of victory during the war as well, weighing down the cannonade of the enemy. Indeed the bell rung during the war was a bell of love, a bell of victory rung by President Kim Il Sung.
Now the education of Korea has been developed onto a high stage of the universal 12-year compulsory education under the wise leadership of respected Kim Jong Un. The education of Korea will make a greater progress thanks to the correct education policy of the Workers´ Party of Korea.

With his warm love for and trust in the soldiers respected Kim Jong Un visits their posts either on far-off islands or on the forefront. There are many touching stories on his way to the front.
 Respected Marshal Kim Jong Un inspected the post on the Kkachil Peak of Mt. Osong, a mountain recorded in the history of the Songun or army-first policy, in June Juche 102 or 2013. That day he, his mind always with the soldiers of Mt. Osong, said he would go out to the post on the Kkachil Peak standing face to face with the enemy. The moment the commanding officers felt embarrassed. The commanding officers earnestly requested him not to go there. But he said:

“The parents of soldiers would be very glad if they know that the Supreme Commander met the soldiers defending the forefront and had a picture taken with them. That is why I must go. They would be very sorry if I do not meet them while visiting Mt. Osong. I feel I cannot leave without meeting the soldiers. I will go however dangerous it may be.”

He said resolutely and then climbed up the post. The soldiers at the post were greatly surprised to see the respected Supreme Commander climbing up the dangerous place within hailing distance from the enemy post.

“Respected Supreme Commander, we wanted to see you. But this is a dangerous place. You may want to see us soldiers, but how can you come to this place the enemy is watching?”

That day respected Marshal Kim Jong Un warmly hugged the soldiers on the forefront and had a picture taken with them. He said:

“This is not an isolated post. The Supreme Commander is always with you.“

He called the soldiers at the post true revolutionary comrades and genuine comrades-in-arms. Not only the soldiers at the post on the Kkachil Peak of Mt. Osong, but also all other soldiers across the country and all the service personnel and people on this land are living under his care.

The prospect of sea fish farming is good in the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea. Difficult scientific and technical problems arising in sea fish farming have been solved in Korea in recent years, opening a bright prospect. Typical is the Raksan Sea Salmon Breeding Farm. The Raksan Sea Salmon Breeding Farm is aleading salmon producer established under the wise guidance of the great leader Kim Jong Il. In May last respected Kim Jong Un visited the farm.
  That day he looked round the netted breeding ground, live fish storing ground, salmon processing room and different other places of the farm. He warmly said:

I feel as if I am on another planet. Here I have seen another precious property of the country to be handed down through generations. A youth fishery, a marvellous fairyland of the Songun era, has opened on the sea of the socialist motherland. Today I have walked all day long, but I am not tired. Sea fish farming is good and I feel an urge to dance in spite of myself.

He said with pleasure.
 Respected Marshal Kim Jong Un expressed satisfaction at the success of the farm, saying he was really pleased to meet true patriots in the northern end of the country. Officials and employees of the farm were moved to tears to hear his speech. They opened the prospect of salmon breeding in the sea, the first of its kind, and succeeded in breeding freshwater rainbow trout in the sea without expecting any honour or estimation. They had begun difficult sea fish farming and fought the rough sea with an ardent patriotic resolve to increase the wealth of the country.
 It gave great pleasure to Kim Jong Un, who praised them highly, showing love and trust. Their excitement was great. That day Kim Jong Un gave strength and courage to the officials and employees of the farm who go through fire and water to do what the Party desires, saying they should push ahead with the sea salmon breeding without giving it up halfway to repay the expectation of the people and they must never relax tension. He showed deep trust to them, encouraging them to play the vanguard role in the development of fish farming of the country. Looking up to him, the employees and officials of the farm were fully determined to achieve great success in the sea fish breeding and send a larger quantity of tasty fish to the people as intended by him.

The complex can discharge with credit its mission as a comprehensive e-library that stores the sci-tech books that have already been off press as well as achievements in latest science and technology of our country and advanced sci-tech data of different countries throughout the world, he noted, adding that it is a laudable achievement.

He was pleased to say that a building that can accommodate 500 guests, which blends in well with the surroundings of the complex, has also been built splendidly as befits a hotel in such a way as to provide every convenience for visitors.

Noting that he was deeply moved to admiration for the service personnel and people who have cherished creative zeal, indomitable mental strength and burning patriotism while touring the complex for hours, he, on behalf of the WPK, gave thanks to the commanding officers, officials, construction workers and other volunteers who have prepared another excellent gift to be presented to the people by the Party.

Stressing the need to develop the country into a sci-tech power, a talented nation, in order to build on this land a thriving country where all dreams of the people come true, he advanced the tasks and ways for making full preparations for operation.
