- at the beggining of the relationship, he would be very hesistant about initiating any physical contact overall, since he wasn’t really used to doing so (after all jiang cheng wasn’t the most affectionate uncle), but he would probably try to play it off cool and unbothered. like you know this cliche move when you’re on a date in the cinema and the person next to you, yawns obnoxiously, stretches their arms and one of them, oh so surprisingly, lands on your shoulders, right? jin ling would totally be this type of person. but add a lot of internal conflict, sweating and swearing in his mind, because “fuck what if they didnt like it, what if they think its pathetic, what if, what if–”. but his train of thought would be over as soon as he would see that his s/o doesn’t mind having physical contact with him, he would have a large confidence boost.
- he definitely wouldn’t mind pda and i see him wrapping an arm around his s/o waist protectively with a smug expression on his face saying: “you see this amazing person right by my side? you see them? they chose me, i’m their husband”. once he’s in a relationship, he would love to show off his s/o, but at the same time, he would make sure that other people know that they’re his, so they wouldn’t try anything funny.
-@incorrect-mdzs-quotes mentioned in her headcanons that jin ling would be touch starved and tbh, i totally see it. he would constantly search for any ways to have his s/o near him, just to feel the warmth of their body next to his, because their touch always can make him feel so calm and simply better. i think that after he would get used to physical contact, he would start unconsciously seek it within people that he’s close with. you know, something casual like staying very close to them, leaning on someone, wrapping his arm around their shoulders etc. and even if zizhen and shizui were a little surprised the first time jin ling did something like that, they didn’t comment his unsual behavior, simply accepting it. it was a little different with jingyi tho, because one (1) time jin ling accidentally hold his hand and boi, jingyi freaked out. “WTF DUDE, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT”, “IT WASN’T ON PURPOSE, I GOT LOST IN THOUGHT AND I THOUGHT YOU’RE S/O” “HOW COULD YOU MISTAKE YOUR WIFE/HUSBAND WITH ME, WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU” (im sorry but i love the energy of these two dumbasses that i cant help, but mention them everytime shshshsh)

- sleeping position; a little spoon. definitely. even though he would fight anyone, who would say something like that (probably jingyi), but this boy simply feels so good whenever he feels his s/o wrapping his arms around him. i think that sometimes he would feel insecure about being so touchy, so when he would feel his s/o hugging his back during night, he would feel much more at ease. he would probably change his position during his sleep and wake up hugging his s/o. someone give this kid the love he deserves pls.
