@linktober day sixteen: redesign Zelda’s outfit (+Sheikah)
This is inspired by modern stylings for kimono I’ve seen online (she is wearing specifically a hakama set with the colors of the house of Hyrule, and a Sheikah haori).
I made this as a bonus, because I couldn’t resist. Zelda and Sheik being two sides of the same coin (and Link being a disaster bi about it) is one of my favorite things in the LoZ world.

Long ago, I made a traditional photo study of a fashion editorial with Golden Chain AU Link for funsies (it was also an Indian fashion photo, so it kinda fit into the modern Gerudo style I was trying to convey). I colored it over the past weeks, trying to go for a more painterly approach, with more textures.
I’m glad I kept the paper textures, it truly gives the impression of a magazine scan, haha!

thank u anon for your kind words and also for the fact that you made me think more about Hyrule and Warriors. Different boys fought together through duration of LU, but now that I think about it, I find it interesting that Jojo gave those two so much screen time together. The OG Link and the non-canon Link, both from wildly different platforms and gameplay, fighting together.

but, this is my version of link! his full name is link o’faolain (very on the nose, i know). he’s 31 years old, and has been working under the hylian monarchy for 13 years. he comes from a small farming village in western hyrule, foxfield, which was burnt to the ground when he was 14. courage didn’t manifest on him for another 3 years after this, though the other triforce pieces had already found their hosts by the time his village was ash.
the werewolf is something that’s been with him since adolescence, but he doesn’t remember anything that happens while in that state. it’s been weaponized as a political tool by the royal family for years, and everyone is under the impression that it can’t be controlled.
he defeated ganondorf a long time ago, putting an end to a war that’d been going on for years and earning him the title of “hero of embers”. he realizes too late that imprisoning ganondorf may have been a mistake.
Look at this little man get off his big horse. Also I used a different program for this page so you’re gonna see a difference in how things work, but it’s good cuz this program is a lot better than what I was using before
