Melanated Maiden
Happy New Year! It’s about time to go through old/unfinished things from last year and see what is worth finishing and sharing! I don’t remember the story of this bee maiden, only that I was frustrated with it for some reason. But now I can say I liked how the colours turned out :)

She wanted to show me the secrets behind the pools reflection, to look past the surface and see what lay beyond. I watched as her finger delicately followed a leaf along the water but quickly noticed the scales of a creature underneath.

So before working on bring these characters to a final, definitive look, I wanted to see how their colors would look in a proper setting. Now, I’m sure there’s a ton I could change compositionally, but I’m pretty happy with how this turned out! I can’t wait to do some proper BGs and illustrations with these two!
