#enchanting
discreet & fast ways to enchant things
don’t forget to do it with intention in mind
- lightly tapping with your fingertips (positive, overall warm intention)
- stroking lovingly and gently (calming, relaxing, putting to sleep. works good when enchanting things for my loved one)
- breath hot air on it (activating my crystals and sigils this way, as if breathing life into them)
- shake it in your fist (energizing, bravery&bravado, filling with strength and power)
- throw it like you hate it (not so discreet, but works fast for negative intention, cursing the item)
- hum to it (intention depends on the song/tune)
to cleanse off intention:
- gently breath cold air on it (cleansing my crystals this way, as if blowing dust off of them)
Enchanting Jewelry
Cleansing:
First cleanse your jewelry especially if it comes from a thrift or antique store, or has been owned by anyone else. The reason you want to cleanse your item is because it may have energies clinging from that last owner or even through shipping and handling.
A common way to cleanse your item is by setting it in a little bowl of salt. This grounds and absorbs the negative energy from your item. I like to leave it over night in the full moon or new moon.
Another method of cleansing is by waving it through smoke of incense or any kind of smoke of cleansing herbs you may have available to you. This is my favorite method.
You can also use cleansing sprays that you may have or hold it in running water, like a creek or river, or running fountain. Just make sure there is no chlorine in the water as that can damage your jewelry.
It’s important to visualize the energy dissipating, or melting off of your item during the cleansing.
Time & Place:
Set your time and place. This could be during a certain phase of moon, a certain day of the week, or holiday, or certain time of the day. It’s important to plan ahead for your spell or ritual.
If you cast circles, then this is your time to do so, as well as calling in any of your spirits, deities or ancestors that you’re working with.
Intention:
Now write down and focus on your intent or say it out-loud. I found writing down your intent helps you focus and solidify your intention as well as saying it out-loud, it makes it more solid (in my opinion).
Now when you cast your spell be sure your intention is in a positive form instead of a negative form, and that it’s in the present tense. For example if you say “I will be protected” say “I am protected”. It’s important to be confident in your working.
Charging:
Now that you have your intention said out-loud or written down, and you know exactly what you’re going to charge this piece for, and you’re in your sacred space and ready to work. You’re going to hold the item in your hand and center and ground yourself and focus on your intention. Visualize your outcome working. For example if your item is to protect you, then you want to visualize that item protecting you.
You’re now going to build up that energy from either the earth or yourself or both. Once you have that energy centered inside your body, you’re then going to visualize that energy coming up to your arm and into your hand and into the item that you’re holding. You want to be kind of like a battery, you want to fill that piece up as much as possible until it can no longer hold anymore energy of your intention.
Now close it off with whatever you feel will seal it. For example I like to say out-loud “So it is done” then I kiss it to seal it off.
Now you’re ready to wear it and go about your day.
Enchanting a Pendant
Protection edition
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good crystal necklace but you don’t get much say in what intentions it manifests and the energy it releases. Enchanting a pendant can open a whole new realm of possibilities using herbs, stones and candles to bring in all the energies that you wish to carry with you in a single necklace.
For this beautiful cicada pendant I wanted it to bring me protection, luck and power.
What you’ll need
- A black candle - I used two
- Protection herbs and incense: I used a bay leaf, black salt, dragons blood and lavender
- For power I used snake skin and for good luck I used cinnamon - these intentions were secondary so I only used a single herb for each
- Protective crystals: I used black tourmaline and clear quartz
Steps:
- Cleanse your space in your preferred method
- Get in the right headspace: you can do this by meditating on your intentions
- Set up your alter with the surrounding the pendant with crystals and your black candle. Light them up
- Call on any spirit guides to aid you, and begin focusing on your intention
- Touch the pendant, ask it for aid and begin envisioning your energy seep into it as you focus
- Sprinkle each herb onto your pendant - setting your intention with each one. Tell your pendant what the herb will do
- Do the same thing with your crystals, touch them and then your pendant. Infusing those vibes
- Talk to your pendant - reiterate what you want, thank it, etc
- Let it sit on your alter. Allow the herbs and crystals to stay with it until your candle finishes burning
Protection is so important! And having a pendant that you personally enchant is so powerful! Why not give your favourite necklace a little magic?
Bonus extra step:
Every morning before I put any necklace on I always give the pendant a little kiss and ask it for aid in my day. It just feels right haha
If you suffer from resting bitch face (like me), enchant your lipgloss or lip balm so that anyone that makes you smile receives a blessing.
Conversely, enchant your lipgloss or balm so anyone you frown at receives a curse.
Heaven
When I die, my heaven will be that of endless shelves of different books, old and new, written by angels, demons and humans alike. It will be that of libraries with soft cushions and a rocking chair by the fireplace. With a long table by the tall window, staring at the view ahead of the hill.
When I die, my heaven will be that of sighing softly while seasons change. While camellias bloom and small animals start to come out of their shelter, hot days that give no choice but to swim in the lake close to the castle, leaves start falling and the shades of brown and hazel start to settle in, and when sitting by the fireplace with a hot cup of tea in hand as a mattress of white covers all grounds.
When I die, my heaven will be that of walking barefoot inside the walls of the castle and on the soft grass. It will be that of finding solace from books, nature and its enchanting being.
Decided to go about a certain color pallette challenge. I know this doesn’t look the best since it was rushed, but hopefully you can see where I was trying to go with this!
