Kain made a little sound at the delicate kiss, his hands curling around hers, feeling her gloves and the strength of her under her usual softness. His lady was a warrior, when she had to be.

He had the sense to avert his eyes from her Love and Beauty Chain attack, correctly remembering how bright her energy always was. He was no longer accustomed to the sight of energy… something that might have to change.

He watched the gathered energy drift away like tendrils of smoke, and badly wished it had just come back, because he still felt dizzy and ill from the loss of it. But it was never so convenient, was it?

Venus turned to him, then, beaming brightly and blessedly oblivious to how he was feeling, and he smiled warmly to try and keep it that way. “We did, yes. You did an amazing job, Venus… but perhaps we ought to discuss this elsewhere? Are your friends still near? They need to be on alert.”

He hadn’t wanted to meet them again so soon, but… this took priority.

Venus was all chirpy and smiley, in fact she couldn’t stop smiling and checking herself out in her new eternal form, even her love and beauty chain attack was more powerful than it used to be before but Kain’s worry brought her back to reality.

“Ah, right.. we need to tell the others. I left earlier because i had to go work but i will have to cancel that. The others should still be at the temple.” she told him and took his hand once again. “Wait- are you sure you are ready to meet them yet? After all.. i know its sudden.. I would understand if you wanted to wait a little longer. I could go by myself, Kain.”

She didn’t want to suddenly force him into this.. its been years and she knew exactly how he felt about meeting the others and as much as she wanted him to meet them all, she still wanted to make sure he was ready for this.

“Minako!”

A familiar voice called out for the Soldier of Love and she turned around, surprised to see the whole squad walk over to them. Rei looked worried and she knew immediately that the raven haired girl might have felt a new negative energy around and came to check it out. “Guys..” she muttered then looked over to Kain to check on him first. She could see that her friends were confused about her standing before them as Sailor Venus and.. of course right next to ‘Kunzite’.

“Oh my god.. is this-” Usagi gasped.

“Yes.. it’s him.”

multifandommuseroulette:

He couldn’t get free.

He couldn’t get free, and if he couldn’t get free, he couldn’t protect Mina, the very thing that had brought him here to begin with. Kain groaned, vision blurring slightly with how quickly he was being drained - it was always easier to drain someone who’s energy was close to the surface, someone who’d been actively using it. He tried to speak, to tell Minako to get out of there, even though in his gut he knew she wasn’t going anywhere. She wouldn’t leave him.

Would they die together, this time?

She shouted something, hard to hear more than STOP! through the roaring in his ears, but there was a glow. Familiar, a comforting shade. Hercolor.

Herpower.

He didn’t even mind his sword vanishing, a tiny, tired smirk curling his lips as gray eyes pried themselves open. He looked up at the monster as it squinted, blinded by her transformation. “…you’re… about to be… in a world of hurt…”

Gathering his strength, he summoned an energy attack at the distracted monster, blasting it in the chest hard enough to get it to let him go. Staggering backwards, he waved to it. So long as he could keep conscious, he would fight - beside her, this time. “Shall we, m’lady?”

Venus smiled proudly at him and walked closer, taking his hands into hers. “Im sorry it took so long.” she tip toed up to him and planted a soft and short kiss on his lips, giving him some of her new energy to heal.

“Let’s end this now.” she nodded at him then turned her attention back to the creature that was getting back up on it’s feet after getting blasted in the chest by Kain. “I will never forgive you for draining the life energy of innocent people! I am Sailor Venus, the soldier of Love and Beauty and in the name of Venus, I will punish you!”

The monster growled and once again launched at her. “How dare you try to hurt such a cute girl like me. VENUS, LOVE AND BEAUTY CHAIN!” she called out, using her Love Whip to send a blast of light energy towards her target, making it turn to a shadow and disappear into the ground releasing the energies it had drained before.

“We did it!” she smiled brightly and turned to the taller male. “And I look so cute in my new form!”

multifandommuseroulette:

The damned thing discorporated. It would have been awfully handy to know it could do that before it had up and vanished on him. Kain crouched slightly, on high alert, but all too soon it was behind him - he wouldn’t have realized it if he hadn’t heard Minako shouting at him.

He lashed out with his sword, but like so many of the Dark Kingdom’s minions before it, this creature didn’t care about pain. It grabbed him and he hissed in a mix of pain and fury.

Then the dizziness hit, and he realized he was being drained. If he didn’t get free quickly, that was going to be a problem… he could still fight, but he was going to be compromised.

“Kain!!” she run towards them and started punching and kicking the monster but it wouldn’t even move. It was getting stronger while he was getting weaker.

What now?

Was she just going to stand there and watch this monster drain the love of her life too? Was she just going to give up now or run away?

“Stop, please.. please don’t kill him.” she pleaded, but of course the creature wasn’t going to stop anytime soon, not until there was not even one drop of energy left.

She clenched her fists together, closing her eyes.. memories of her past life came rushing to her; how she met him the first time, how they danced together at a ball on the Moon, how they both were annoyed with their Prince and Princess sometimes for not listening to them. All those beautiful memories came back to her and she wanted to make new ones with him.. with him, their friends.. here on earth, on this planet that she loved so much.

But for that, she had to fight, she had to protect this planet, and Kunzite. So, no.. she couldn’t give up now. She wasn’t going to lose him again.. never!

“I SAID STOP!” she called out and opened her eyes, the monster pausing for a moment just to turn its head to her and to see that a bright, warm yellow light had engulfed her.

She wasn’t sure why or how.. but she could feel the warmth of his love, she could feel how badly he wanted to protect her. It almost felt like she could hear him talk to her, she could hear his voice calling for her and without her noticing, the sword he had with him had disappeared and appeared right before her. She looked at it rather confused but something was telling her to grab it..

and as she did.. she knew exactly what she had to do.

“VENUS ETERNAL POWER, MAKE UP!” The yellow light around her only shone brighter, blinding the monster as she transformed into her new form.

A new power was born from the sword Kain brought with him to protect her.

multifandommuseroulette:

Between Hikawa Shrine and the park… he could do that. Kain took in a slow breath and reached for the energy simmering under his skin, for the power he knew he still had, and brought it to bear.

The room blurred.

Everything blurred, sounds rushing by like he had stuck his head out the window on the highway, a jumbled, meaningless mess. It was a clumsier teleportation than he could have remembered doing since he was a child, but it worked.

He heard the scream, saw the… thing bearing down on Minako. On his Venus.

Not today, bastard. Kain snarled and launched himself between Minako and the creature. His blade made a wide arching slash and he felt the resistance of the creature’s more solid form. Felt his body protest the movements it hadn’t done in ages, even as Beryl’s general he hadn’t wielded a sword. But he did now. To defend her.

Minako’s eyes widened, feeling her energy getting drained by the monster as it held her in place. She felt totally useless and weak as a single tear rolled down her cheek- that was until she saw a movement from the corner of her eyes.

How was that possible? Was she dreaming? “Kain?!” she called out when he launched himself between her and the creature with what looked like a sword in his hands. It really was him, he came.. for her.

The monster wasn’t happy about the little surprise attack at all and it irked him that someone even dared to hurt him. Another loud growl escaped its mouth, showing its sharp fang-like teeth as if trying to scare off his opponent. Minako could tell that whatever it was, was stronger than the last enemies they had to deal with and she somehow new that the woman wasn’t the first victim to get her energy drained.

“Kain! Careful!!” she called out in pure shock as she saw the creature turn back to a shadow figure and suddenly disappearing just to appear behind him, turning back to its solid body again to attack him from behind with its wolf-like claws.

“NO!”

multifandommuseroulette:

Kain’s smile fell away as he heard Minako get cut off by a scream. Where was she again? The Hikawa Shrine, wasn’t it? He was almost certain that was where she was. How quickly could he make it there? And more importantly, what could he do?

Kain closed his eyes, focusing inward. He had been reborn, gifted this second chance… surely, surely it was not going to end like this. With her taken away before they’d even had a chance at life in peace.

No.

No, he refused to accept that. He was sorely out of practice, but not powerless. While he didn’t trust his stamina for energy attacks necessarily, he could, at least, teleport. He could be at her side in an instant, he just needed a weapon.

Smiling grimly, he crossed his apartment for the study and the decorative blade that had been placed against the wall. It was light in his hand, more comfortable than it ought to be. A simple sword, but it would do the job. He brought the phone back up to his face. “Minako? Mina, I need to know where you are. Any landmark will do.”

Minako stared at the shadow-like creature, how he drained all the energy of the woman and slowly but surely turned to have a solid body. She gasped in shock at the hideous monster before her and took a step back as it growled at her- thats when she heard Kain’s voice coming from her phone, right.. she totally forgot to hang up before. Holding her phone back to her ear, she wondered why he wanted to know where she was.. even if he wanted to come there was no way he would make it in time.

“H-Hikawa Shrine.. further down the street there is a park.”

Thats all she could bring herself to say before she saw the monster launch for her. No Rod.. she couldn’t transform, what was she supposed to do now? It felt as if she was frozen on the spot, she couldn’t even move.

“KYAAAA!”

multifandommuseroulette:

If she was trying not to give him a heart attack, it was a poor effort. But then, what else could he expect from the imp? Kunzite found himself laughing, breathless after he’d literally waited with baited breath for her to explain. Of course she had to tease him. She just couldn’t help herself. Never could.

Tease,”he accused, soft and fond. He took a slow breath to fill his burning lungs and ground himself against the dizzying news that they were happy. All of them. And his prince - no matter if he truly resembled Endymion or not, Mamoru was still his prince - wanted to talk to him. Soon.

“I… well. We couldn’t have asked for better,” he said; he’d been prepared for so much worse. “Thank you, Minako. From the bottom of my heart. I… have no words.”

Just immense, bone-deep relief and soul deep gratitude.

A soft and gentle smile formed on her lips as she stood close to the bus station near Rei’s temple, still waiting for her manager. She could hear in his voice how happy and thankful he was that everything turned out well. Knowing that he was happy made her happy.. she honestly couldn’t wait for the others to meet and she also was curious what the other men were up to and if they still looked the same. “Don’t thank me, not for this.” she said and run a hand through her hair.

“I told you things would turn out to be okay. Now we just have to wait for Mamoru to call you and everything else will happen naturally. You will see.. we all will be happy again. I do believe that you and I were destined to meet that day.. and you-” she couldn’t finish her sentence as she got cut off by a loud scream further down the street.

Her eyes widened and for a moment she wasn’t sure what to do. “Kain, i need to go.” she told him and didn’t wait for an answer, she ran off towards the scream, forgetting to hang up the phone. The blonde girl stopped in her tracks, her mouth dropping as she saw a strange shadow-like creature hovering over a woman.. it looked like it was draining their energy. “No.. no.. i thought its over. How is this possible.. why are there new enemies. Why..” she muttered in shock. She didn’t even know if she was able to transform, her transformation pen was gone after all but she couldn’t just stand there and do nothing. “Stop!!” she called out and threw a brick at the creature, trying to get his attention.

multifandommuseroulette:

Kain was aware, of course, that Minako was meeting with the girls and Mamoru. Which meant that his usual laser concentration was shot. He had to have “read” the same page in his novel a half dozen times before giving up in exasperation and rising to pace.

How long would such a meeting take? You couldn’t rush such things, shouldn’t, but he ached to know. His chest ached, though whether it was just the sheer emotional stress or more specific anxiety he wasn’t familiar enough to guess. In both lives, he had been the level headed one, the one who - while not emotionless - was still able to control himself when necessary.

Where was that now? Pacing and fretting, he hardly felt like himself. He felt dizzy with anticipation, eager and unsure like he hadn’t felt since he was a child.

His phone rang, and he snatched it up from the table at once, swiping the moment he saw who it was. “Minako?” Too many questions laid heavy on his tongue, far too many to know where to begin.

Thankfully, Minako had never needed help carrying a conversation.

To her surprise he picked up faster than she thought he would, and she could tell from his voice that he was anxious and curious to know how the meeting went. She smiled to herself as she walked down the street. “Hey, it’s good to hear you again.” she slid a strand of her blond locks behind her ear then stopped at a bus station for her manager to pick her up.

“So uh- I just met everyone.” she started saying, trying her best to not sound too happy, she wanted to tease him a little bit. “I honestly don’t know how to tell you this, i don’t want you to get a heart attack or anything, Kain..” she took a dramatically deep breath and hesitated purposely. “So uhm.. well..” she bit her lower lip but couldn’t keep her teasing going anymore, she burst into a loud and cheerful laughter. “Everyone is so happy, Kain.. and Mamoru is going to call you very soon. They can’t wait to see all of you again.. we can’t wait for this big reunion.”

She bit her lower lip gently, waiting for his response.. wondering what was going through his head at this moment.

multifandommuseroulette:

Mamoru sighed, smile a little nervous and a lot pleased. “Yes… I can’t wait to see them again.” He unfolded the paper, taking in the precise penmanship that was so very Kunzite to his restored memories.Kain, now, he’d have to remember. “I’ll let you talk with him first, tonight, and contact him tomorrow morning myself, if that works for you?”

It was hard to imagine he wouldn’t still be an unrepentant morning person, no matter what else may have changed. He knew the girls were wondering the same - what had changed, what had stayed the same? Would they be recognizable as the men they all had loved before?

He could only hope.

Minako nodded her head at Mamoru. It was for the best to contact Kain first and to let him know that things went well and that Mamoru was going to call him the next day. Everything just went so smoothly, she really hoped that their meeting would go just as perfectly. “Great, then i guess its set. I will talk to Kain in a bit and..” she looked over to Usagi and Mamoru. “And you two will decide the next meeting with them, yeah? I will let you guys handle that then.. i know you are busy with the whole wedding thing so if you need any help let me know.” she smiled then got up after checking the time.

The blonde idol looked at her friends for a moment. “I have to go, i’m meeting my manager in a bit, i will call Kain too so.. I will see you guys again soon.” she waved at everyone and walked out with a huge smile on her lips.

While walking down the stairs of Rei’s temple, she fished out her phone and started dialing Kains number, hoping he wouldnt be busy to talk.

multifandommuseroulette‌:

“I…” Mamoru shook his head slowly, a small smile beginning to light his face with a look of wonder. “I’d wondered what had happened… I never imagined they’d be alive. After all this time…”

And what, hiding? Ashamed that Beryl had, once again, caught them vulnerable and brainwashed them? He’d been there, he knew what it was like, now, and wouldn’t - couldn’t - hold it against them. “Yes, I want them at the wedding. I want to see them again, to have them back…”

He tried not to envy Usagi, but knowing what he’d had, and lost before he could even appreciate it, made it a little hard sometimes to see her surrounded by the love and support of her senshi. He wanted his shitennou - his brothers - back so badly it ached. “When can we see them? Do you have a contact number?”

She had Kunzite’s, or rather Kain’s, but the question was if he was allowed to have it yet. Kunzite had always preferred to pick when confrontations happened himself, and while this wasn’t going to be a confrontation per se, it was still the sort of thing he knew the older (was he still older?) man preferred on his own terms.

Minako’s eyes sparkled so brightly, everyone could tell how happy she was to hear that they wanted the other four men at the wedding. She was so relieved that this went so well, that everyone was so welcoming and excited to meet them again. “I have his number. He actually asked me to give it to you.” she fished out a little note with his number on it and handed it over to the taller male.

“We can arrange a meeting. I know you guys are busy too but it would be great if we could see them before the wedding. I will call Kain tonight and talk to him about it if that’s okay with you guys.” the blonde girl asked and looked at her friends who responded with a nod.

Usagi gave her fiance a loving look, she was smiling brightly from ear to ear. She was just so happy for him, so excited that he would finally have his brothers by his side too and the girls would have their destined lovers back again. It all felt so surreal.. it felt like a dream. “Mamo-chan.” the young woman took his hand and gave it a soft squeeze, that smile never leaving her lips. “Let’s make this happen. Let’s finally meet them.”

talesfantastic:

“I wouldn’t dream of it,” Kain assured her with a small, fond smile. She wasn’t wrong, he hadgotten hurt, and it was uncomfortable at best at this point. More than that, really, was just exhaustion. So, he allowed her to walk him home.

He gave himself time to get a shower and something to eat as well as a full glass of juice to try and boost his energy levels a bit. From there, it was a long conversation with Mamoru, and he was grateful it was early enough in the day that he still had time to contact the others.

How they had come to find each other again - how they had been irresistibly drawn to each other, before Beryl and then after, the only ones who could even begin to understand - had to be the work of whatever power had brought them back to life (the Princess, he would bet, and he was not a betting man.)

It was enough that they had known each other for some time, learned to trust each other again. Because saying there was “hesitation” on their part to meet the reincarnations of the women they had once loved was beyond an understatement.

Jaden was, perhaps not entirely incorrectly, convinced he’d take a fireball to the face on arrival. There would definitely be a burn between he and Rei, of that he was certain. All that was in question was the nature of it.

Zane took immediate refuge in the fact that they had a goal. This was more than just a meeting, more than even just trying to make nice before their prince’s wedding. There was a new threat, and they were - Minako aside as Venus - the only ones with powers left.

Nathan was ominously silent for such a usually emotional man. But he agreed to meet, and that would have to be enough.

They talked late into the night, and it was indeed early morning when Kain was finally able to catch a few scarce hours of sleep.

It was early in the morning when the blond idol arrived at the studio, getting ready to record a song or two. The girl was exhausted, couldn’t sleep much and thought about the reunion and Reis’ words all night. She really wanted everything to go well, after all this wasn’t just a normal reunion, their enemies were back too and they had to figure out what to do now that only she was able to transform.

It still felt so surreal to her that she reached her eternal form, the warmth she felt, that power.. it was so overwhelming but nice and it was all because of him

Looking at the time her eyes widened, it was already noon. She had been at the studio for too long and decided to take a break to give Kain a call and ask how things went with the guys. She was curious after all.

Dialing his number, she got a small cup of coffee from the vending machine. “Kain..” she smiled when he finally picked up. “I didn’t just wake you up, did i?”

multifandommuseroulette:

Kain appreciated the contact after all this; he didn’t blame Rei, not in the slightest, but the reminder of what damages they had wrought hurt.

As it should, a dark voice whispered in the back of his mind. It sounded uncomfortably like his past self. He wasn’t going to examine it too closely.

He took a slow, steadying breath, squeezing Minako’s hand gently. “I… would appreciate time to talk to Mamoru, yes. But I don’t intend to overstay my welcome here. We’ll find somewhere else to speak with each other.”

Mamoru didn’t catch the whispers, didn’t even try, but was having thoughts similar to both Minako and Kain. “Let me see Usako home, and then… if you’re up for it, Kain, I’d really like to talk.”

Kain didn’t bristle, exactly, but he held himself with more care, determined not to show weakness to his prince. Mamoru or Endymion, he would always be his prince. “Of course. I’ll give you a text so you have my number and you can call at your convenience.”

Mamoru nodded, content with this arrangement. “Alright, thanks… maybe I can help iron things out a little, with the others, before tomorrow.”

Kain hummed noncommittally. “It may be best to let me speak with them. This will take some care…. For now, I suppose I ought to see myself out.”

Minako listened to Kain and Mamoru’s little conversation then fully turned her attention to the silver haired mail when he mentioned he would leave now. She got up on her feet almost immediately and looked at him. “I will go with you..” she told him, not wanting to let him walk all the way home when his energy got drained only a few moments ago. She wasn’t going to risk him getting hurt.

“I will see you guys tomorrow, take care you two. Oh and Kain?” Usagi looked at the taller male and smiled softly. “It was good to see you again.”

The idol smiled at her friend and nodded at the others, excusing herself as she took her partners hand and walked out of the Shrine with him. “Are you okay? I know today was a lot.. and you got hurt because of me. Im so sorry..” she sighed softly and gave his hand a soft squeeze. “I will walk you home, thats the least i can do and before you try to stop me- don’t.” a soft smile formed on her lips, letting him know that she was still her stubborn self after all and she wouldn’t leave him alone in a situation like this.

multifandommuseroulette:

Princess Mars loved Jadeite,” Kain corrected gently. “Rei - if I may use the name, I’m sorry I didn’t catch your last - she isn’t Princess Mars, not really. She’s lived a whole other life, with new experiences that have shaped a new person. And the same goes for Jaden. Much of who he is now reminds me of Jadeite… but they’re not the same person, not now. Not anymore than any of the rest of us are who we were back then. And it’s not fair to assume the same bonds will automatically be there, just because two out of six pairs were drawn to each other immediately.”

He cleared his throat, looking away to gather his thoughts. “I had to get to know them twice. Once, when we drew together before…” a subtle pause of discomfort “she came back into our lives, and brainwashed us. And then again after that, as we tried to come to terms with our memories of the past, and what we had just done in the Dark Kingdom’s service.”

He looked up, first to Mamoru, then to Usagi, dark eyes earnest and praying for understanding. “We hurt them, in ways you two never hurt each other, not really. Bonds were tested, and if some of them broke… that’s no more than we deserve. Regardless, new ones need formed.”

Only then did he look to Rei. “I’ll be honest, none of us expected to be forgiven, let alone even have the chance to find out if we were. He’s not expecting you to love him. But… I do think that perhaps it would be best to at least meet each other again. If it’s intolerable, then that’s that. If it’s tolerable, it still only need be for group events. No one is saying any of you ever have to be alone with any of us, or like us.”

Mamoru hummed quietly, drawing Kain’s attention immediately. “I think, perhaps, we need to be more practical. While I appreciate how gentle you’re trying to be with this, Kain… the fact is that Mina is now the only one here who can transform and we have a new enemy. For the sake of protecting our home, we need you four. Especially if any of you can fight while we can’t.”

Rei turned her attention to Kain as he spoke and she had to admit she was surprised about his words and how understanding he sounded and she appreciated that he knew how she felt, she just feared to fall for the same guy again and then in the end get hurt. She didn’t want the past to repeat itself.. it was painful once, she wasn’t sure if she could do it all again. But this wasn’t just about her, both Mamoru and Kain were right, this meeting was necessary to protect their home.

“I understand and I’m okay with meeting him. I will be there tomorrow evening.” the raven haired girl nodded at her friends, assuring that she would do her best and not let her feelings get in the way.

Usagi watched Rei with a worried expression. She understood how Rei felt, Mamoru too had fallen for the darkness more than once and it pained her to see him like that, to have to fight against him but at the end she knew that their love was stronger than that and she hoped her friend would realise that soon too.

Minako sat there, a little confused about the deep conversation they just had. It looked like both groups had to still get used to everything, heal from the past and maybe make new memories. “Well, i guess the reunion is going to be tomorrow evening at Makoto-chan’s Cake Shop.” she spoke the words but didn’t sound as excited as she was before, she was worried now. What if it really was just her and Kain that got lucky.. she didn’t want her friends or even the other men to get their feelings hurt.

She faked a smile then leaned closer to Kain, whispering to him. “Don’t you.. want some alone time with Mamoru? You two should maybe talk a little.. and not just about this matter.”

She reached for his hand and gave it a soft squeeze, nodding at him.

multifandommuseroulette:

“We’re fortunate it worked,” Kain said. He hesitated to say lucky. Lucky dismissed the power of their bond, put it up to chance. He had come very deliberately to protect her, and she had, in turn, protected him, pulling on strength no one had thought she still had.

Or so he had gathered, from her lack of transformation until that moment. Surely if she could have defended herself sooner, she would have. Soldier of Love she may have been, but she’d never shied from a fight. He’d always admired her strength and tenacity…

But now wasn’t the time for that, even if he hadn’t missed the tender look passing between Mamoru and Usagi.

“It remains to be seen if that’s a consistent requirement, of course,” Kain said, shifting a little in an effort to feel more grounded from the dizziness of being drained. He watched Mamoru track the movement, lips pursed, then looked away, grateful he wasn’t saying anything. They needed to strategize, not fuss over his momentary weakness. “But… just so I understand, the rest of you no longer have the power to transform?”

That… could be a problem. At least until they figured out how they were supposed to get theirpowers back. As far as he knew, he was the only one of the former (was it really former?) Shitennou who still owned a sword…. or a physical weapon at all, really.

How much of their powers remained, as well, was also in question. They hadn’t thought they’d need to fight again, and so he had been very remiss in pushing about what skills remained. Obviously, that was going to have to change.

“After Sailor Moon sealed Chaos away, we lost the power to transform. Our transformation pens just disappeared but it looks like new powers are waiting for us.” Makoto explained and wondered how she could reach her eternal form. It looked like it had something to do with their past life lovers but she wasn’t sure if the same thing would happen for the other girls too or if it was just Minako who got lucky.

“Maybe we should hurry up with the reunion a little. I think the others should meet the boys too. I just have a feeling things will get clearer if we meet up as soon as possible. I will even cancel all my schedule for it.” Minako suggested, deep down she knew the other three men were the answer to everything. “What do you guys say?” she looked over to Usagi and Mamoru.

Usagi looked at her fiance for a moment then nodded, agreeing to what the other blonde girl suggested. Their wedding was very soon and they still had a lot to do but this was more important right now. “What about tomorrow evening? I know you all are busy with your own lifes but everyone could finish their jobs and we could just meet up at Makoto’s cake shop right when shes closing. That way no one has to cancel anything.. Ami and Mamoru can leave the hospital after work, Rei and Minako too.. now the question is, if the guys could make it?” the soon to be bride asked as she looked over to Kain.

The soldier of Love liked the idea, but she noticed that someone wasn’t as excited as she was about the whole reunion. “Rei-chan.. whats wrong?” she called her out after noticing that she looked rather uncomfortable about this whole thing.

“Nothing.. it’s just..” she hesitated, a little surprised that the other noticed that something wasnt right. “Okay, look.. i just don’t think I can trust them. Am I happy that they are alive? yes.. hell i was so happy to hear that they were all well.. but i don’t want to get hurt again. I was fine telling myself that i dont need anyone, that i dont need a man by my side and i have to admit for a moment when Minako told us that they were alive, i was thinking about a future with himbut-”

“Rei-chan.. but you loved Jadeite.” Usagi stated and frowned at her friends confession.

“Yes.. there was a time I was deeply in love with him but he betrayed us and im not saying i didn’t forgive him, i did.. but.. i don’t think I can trust them again. I don’t think I could go through the same thing again.”

multifandommuseroulette:

“It would be wisest that we go together, and can tell them everything we’ve seen from different perspectives - we’d be less likely to miss something,” Kain said, because he knew that was practical. Not because he wanted to, because… well. He was still very much uneasy and worried about how things were going to go here, even though they’d certainly sounded welcoming to hear Minako tell it.

The truth was, he didn’t know how soon he’d be ready. Only that this couldn’t wait for it.

Of course, then it was taken out of his hands entirely as the entire rest of the group came running, with one who could only be Jadeite’s Mars in the lead. He’d have to learn all their names now… and… oh.

Gray eyes met wide, concerned blue, and all that had been Kunzite in him fought the powerful urge to kneel. His hand tightened around Minako’s and he bowed his head politely. “Hello.”

Mamoru’s eyes stayed on him, but narrowed, assessing, seeing weakness that Kain desperately didn’t want brought to light. Not now. Not when there were discussions to be had. From the frustrated look that flickered across his expression, he understood. “Is everything alright?”

“We need to talk,” Kain said. “Some place secure.”

This wasn’t how Venus imagined their first meeting to be but as awkward the situation was, she couldn’t change it anymore, so when his hand tightened around hers she just made sure not to let go of them to assure him that things are alright.

Rei was the only one who looked at him rather wary, she wasn’t sure if they could really trust him, the trauma of her past life and the boys betraying them was big but it seemed like he came to protect Minako.. and they succeeded. The raven haired girl sighed softly then nodded, breaking the silence. “He’s right.. let’s go back to the temple and talk about this.” she stated and started walking back with everyone.

Back at the Hiwaka Temple they sat down at the table in the room.  “Minako-chan, tell us what happened there.” Ami asked, her curious self was trying to figure out what really occurred when they weren’t around.

The soldier of love turned her head towards Kain for a moment before looking back to her friends. “I heard a scream.. and when i went there I only saw a shadow figure”

“A shadow figure?” Makoto asked.

“Yes, but.. the thing is it was draining someones energy and.. it seemed like he got stronger and stronger and.. that shadow like figure started to become a solid body. And- and it wasn’t like our other enemies.. it looked like someone was experimenting with different kind of monsters. It had fangs like a vampire, claws like a werewolf, it looked like a disgusting Ogre.”

She tried hard to remember the details and it really did look like someone just created their own weird monster out of different ones and she wondered if there were more out there. “And how.. did you transform?” Ami asked again, still fascinated that their leader got to reach her eternal form.

“Well.. I guess i will have to thank Kain. His sword-” she paused and held up the new transformation rod that was comparably the same size as her old one. “This.. used to be his sword and although it was such a simple thing.. the fact that he put all his love and strength into it to just protect me, i think.. that was the reason i was able to transform again.”

A smile formed on Usagi’s lips as she heard the little story, it sounded familiar and she couldn’t help but look at her soon to be husband, wondering if he remembered that time too.
