Folks, we made it through season 1. It was a roller coaster and tears were shed, but we made it. Here are my predictions for vol. 2. I know we only got two episodes left, however, that 2.5 hour runtime is gonna be chock full of entertainment.
- The California gang will come back to Hawkins
- Eleven will fight Vecna in the Upside Down
- Vecna will claim another victim
- Will will be targeted
- The Mind Flayer (as seen in the vol. 2 teaser) will be released
- Steve, Nancy, and Robin will be confronted by Vecna
- Someone’s dying (main contenders: Steve, Nancy, Murray, Brenner, Dustin, Eddie, or Jonathan)
- Vecna will be defeated by El
- Joyce and Hopper become a couple
That’s pretty much all my main predictions. I’m looking forward to vol. 2 and I can’t wait to see how the gang take down Vecna
Doodled up some expressions for Thalia! I like to think that illithids can change their coloration like cephalopods can and a lot of their facial expression syntax is based off of that and tentacle position.
She has some amount of control over her facial coloration, but it’s predominantly subconscious and if she forces an expression the coloration is somewhat static and has less of a gradient to it. When she’s making the expression naturally, there’s shifts of color and the gradient colors are more natural.
Thalia’s natural smile is of her tentacles wrapped around each other, but she has learned that when interacting with non-illithids, they don’t really understand that she’s smiling, so she curls her tentacles up to make it mimic a “regular” smile.
She can see through the nictating membrane, but it’s a one-way type of thing.
Traced over a JC Leyendecker painting for a socks ad with my girl Thalia and had a lot of fun doing like, painterly coloring!
Very very pleased with how it turned out, and I feel like it was a good way to practice shading and coloring. Definitely going to be using Leyendecker pieces as reference more in the future.
Here’s an “official” reference sheet for Thalia featuring her in her elf disguise and mask.
She’s so much fun to draw…

love that in stranger things the kids just name all the supernatural shit after D&D villains and the adults just go with it
INKTOBER 19 - Tower of Latria, Demon’s Souls
I’ve always been told that the Latria Tower is a scary area, as the very scary Irithyll Dungeon is inspired by the famous area from Demon’s Souls.
Now I understand why, I really had a really bad time with the Latria Tower and especially at its beginning in the “Prison of Hope” area that has nothing to hope, it is a claustrophobic place and that you can lose very easily, or talk about these sons of cthulhu the “Mind Flayer” these really scare me, they don’t know how many times I had to start the prison area for these bastards and this is just the beginning of the Latria Tower, not to mention the others places later in this game zone.

I’m just thinking about the fact that Will led a few people to death when the Mind Flayer made him its spy (s2).
Nancy didn’t intentionally murder Barb, after all, but her recklessness/distraction led to Barb getting abducted and killed. Will’s lies- prompted by the Mind Flayer- led to the death of some scientists, and that was unintentional but still more intentional that Nancy’s mistake.
So, if Vecna got Nancy, he sure has a reason to get Will too.
