In honor of tonight’s new moon, here are some things to do on a new moon night, relative corresponces, and some general info!
New moons are know for representing new beginnings, renewal, change, and hope.
Things to do:
Set intentions and plan // this is a great time to figure out your life, tomorrow is a new day and it could be the start of something great!
Cleanse EVERYTHING
Divination // I currently use tarot cards and a pendulum becaus that’s all I have but anything you like will do. This a great time to do divination work and ready figure out what may be next for you.
Moon magick!
Start something new // it could be as simple and low key as starting a new book or as adventurous and complex as starting a new relationship
Spell work // I personally recommend spells that involve healing, purifying, luck, and shielding.
Rest and reflect
Protect yourself, your home with a ward

New Moon: Sometimes called the crescent Moon, when you can see the very first sliver of light in the sky. This phase promotes new beginnings, new endeavors, and new relationships. It is a time for making positive changes, looking for fresh career opportunities and planting seeds of ideas that will be harvested later.
Waxing:This is when the moon appears to be getting larger, therefore it makes sense to use this time to focus on increasing things of your own- your knowledge, bank accounts, relationships. It’s a time to think about pregnancy, to increase communications of all types, whether for business or pleasure. Deal with legal matters if you want financial gain. This phase promotes healing.
Full Moon: This is a time of fulfillment, activity, increased psychic ability, for perfecting ideas, “getting your act together”, celebrations or renewing commitments to people or projects. The best time for spells of any kind.
Waning:The waning Moon is a time of decrease, release, letting go and completion. An excellent time to begin dieting, breaking bad habits, breaking off relationships, or dealing with legal matters.
Dark Moon: The two or three days when the Moon is not visible in the sky at all. The dark Moon and new Moon are often considered the same phase. On an average calendar the dark Moon is usually indicated by a black spot. However, the dark Moon occurs on the day it is marked as well as one day before and one day after. This is a good time for discarding things in your life that you do not want, contemplating what you have already accomplished, and what you want to accomplish in the future. An excellent time to find time for yourself, or if you’re so inclined, an ideal time for seclusion.
The full moon went through a full eclipse this time around which only happens every 6months to a year…
Blood moon… it went RED! And it looked amazing!!! I was totally Mesmerised by it!!!
The blue moon part… only the northern hemisphere gets to see this full moon blue so we missed out in Melbourne.
Why do they call it a blue moon?
“The suggestion has been made that the term “blue moon” for “intercalary month” arose by folk etymology, the “blue” replacing the no-longer-understood belewe, ‘to betray’. The original meaning would then have been “betrayer moon”, referring to a full moon that would “normally” (in years without an intercalary month) be the full moon of spring, while in an intercalary year, it was “traitorous” in the sense that people would have had to continue fasting for another month in accordance with the season of Lent.[8][9]
The earliest recorded English usage of the term blue moon is found in an anti-clerical pamphlet (attacking the Roman clergy, and cardinal Thomas Wolsey in particular) by two converted Greenwich friars, William Roy and Jerome Barlow, published in 1528 under the title Rede me and be nott wrothe, for I say no thynge but trothe. “
