Chinese mythology from A to Z:
[C] - Cāngdì (蒼帝 “Green Deity” or “Green Emperor”) is the manifestation of the supreme God associated with the essence of wood and spring, for which he is worshipped as the god of fertility. His animal form is the Bluegreen Dragon.
I thought I’d share a new series I started on my instagram (same name as here) and it’s dedicated to unusual mythology characters.
Sirin is a mythological creature of Russian legends, with the head and chest of a beautiful woman and the body of a bird.Sirins sang beautiful songs to the saints, foretelling future joys. For mortals, however, the birds were dangerous. Men who heard them would forget everything on earth, follow them, and ultimately die. Sometimes Sirins are seen as a metaphor for God’s word going into the soul of a man. Sometimes they are seen as a metaphor of heretics tempting the weak.
