so, been thinkin a bit. not really about world hunger or cancer or vegans. should really get onto them big problems. but something i’ve noticed is that self proclaimed “tomboys” generally have gigantic egos. no, i’m not saying we should force them into girlhood or treat them like misogynists or just treat them like the enemy like tumblr generally treats white males. and what i’m talking about are the kids ranging from 11 to the age you realize how stupid you were in middle school. these tomboys, a lot of the time, bitch about how much they hate the color pink, shit talk the “girly girls,” and kind of use their tomboyness as an excuse to just hate the girls who present themselves as feminine. is this okay? well, unless the pink-loving girly-girls enjoy the criticism like some sort of gossip-centred masochist, i’d say it’s not. i’m not saying we should hate tomboys, in fact it’s the opposite. they’re just a bunch of girls trying to find their place in the world. but hating a color for the sheer purpose of it typically being related to being girly and not wanting to be caught dead wearing it is, in all honesty, a waste of energy. we’re all human(?). if you keep trying to sniff out everything that’s wrong with the world, you’ll find yourself unhappy. not to mention, you’ll look back to yourself in a year or two and cringe a lot.
