Finally a “quick” painting that was actually quick. I’ll admit, the color combo got me. Reference from rocom’s music video for “Mona Lisa”.

Some more painting I did while taking CGMA’s Art of Color & Light class, while trying to emulate photographic long-exposure.

Also drowning out my anxiety of how to move to the west coast with LA beach fantasies involving bonfire parties, surfboards and muscle tees

(I need to move to LA from horizontally the opposite side of the country, send help, or muscle tees)

It’s hard to do any original art for me these days, soI’m trying to at least do some studies. Here’s a little stress-relief painting study I did based on an awesome photo by Marco Bernardini - https://twitter.com/MarcoMA4PS/status/1518175418708279298?s=20&t=TKitjEiTdewMgRKpuHtmag

Pelican painting study

I was lucky to grab several shots of this guy sitting on a trash can, as well as him /her being fed frozen fish.

A brief color study. Or more like: crisis crisis crisis

rq-described:

opia-jpg:

despair

[ID: A drawing of Jonathan Sims standing on a bridge, in the style of the painting “The Scream.” Instead of screaming, Jon is looking downwards and to the side with a pensive expression. The artist’s signature is written along the railing next to him and reads “opia.”

Eyes dot the landscape — there are three large ones in the sky, then smaller ones dotted along Jon’s side and in the greenery under the bridge he stands on. On the other side of the bridge, two people wearing top hats appear to be talking as they walk. Three eyes are dotted on their backs. End ID]
