I’m glad I decided to use pastel rainbow for his outfit again. He really rocks those colors! I spent a lot of time getting the colors just right, especially with his new design.
He came out so cute! I think this is the happiest I’ve ever shown him! Which makes sense, Kage is a very proud gay man. Of course he would flaunt his pride all over the place.
So, I felt like changing it up this Pride Month. Instead of just doing all my OC’s digitally again, I’m going to paint them! Painting characters is NOTHING like digital art, especially with how I draw eyes. This will be a fun challenge for me!
I’m up first, a proud lesbian! I always try and give myself a pretty pride outfit and this one might be my favorite so far. I found out about Sapphic recently, which is just women who love women. This applies to lesbians, bisexual women, pansexual women, any girl that likes girls.
So I based my dress off the Sapphic pride flag, which is just pink and white with a purple flower. Honestly, I like the Sapphic flag WAY more than the lesbian one. Orange is a hard color to match.
This lovely set was requested by @puffkins2000and includes all of the previously unconverted items from The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff! There are two versions of the curtains: one with beads and one without, and two versions of the tea tray: one that’s a deco item and one that functions as a candle with a lit flame. The mist inside the crystal ball is animated, which looks super cool and you can change the color of it with CASt! Also, if you have The Sims 3: Supernatural installed, the three paintings (two are not shown) may look a little different on full moon nights
Today is Easter Sunday, the day in which our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ, rose from the dead, officially cleansed humanity of its sins, & ultimately created our religion of Christianity (which of course includes the denomination that is Catholicism). Today is one of the most, if not THE most, important day for all of us Catholics & fellow Christians, as it’s the day in which our relationship with God was restored through Jesus Christ, & through His teachings we can ultimately return back to our true home. So to celebrate this wonderful holiday, I thought it’d be appropriate to put together a picture set, since this blog celebrates Catholicism. The top picture underneath the header shows a painting of Jesus walking out of the tomb in which He was buried, with the stone gently placed to the side of the doorway. The middle picture shows another painting of Jesus rising & walking out from the tomb, only this time with two loyal angels of God by His side. Finally, the bottom pictures shows the modern day traditions many of us use to celebrate Easter: it shows a rabbit, presumably the Easter Bunny, in a basket observing all the colorful eggs in a sunny field.
I would include an added bonus of Easter songs like I did with the Christmas post, but there really aren’t that many strictly Easter songs. The only one I could think of is “Here Comes Peter Cottontail”, but that’s about it. Sorry about that!

This particular picture is rather special though, because he drew the first draft for it while in space using coloured pencils he took with him:

As I pulled myself back toward the airlock, I heard Pasha talking to me: “It’s time to come back in.” I realized I had been floating free in space for over 10 minutes. In that moment my mind flickered back for a second to my childhood, to my mother opening the window at home and calling to me as I played outside with my friends, “Lyosha, it’s time to come inside now.”

Is this not the cutest??? Its called ”Me and Brita” and this guy in 1895 was like ”i love this kid so much imma do a painting of us having fun so the world will always know how much i loved her and what a good time we had”

More specifically that is Carl Larsson with one of his 8 children.
He came from a extremely poor and abusive background but worked his way into fine society, where he fell in love with fellow artist Karin Bergöö, and his works shifted to painting his home life.

OMFG I used to work at Carl’s house which in now a museum in Falun, Sweden, and now his art is on my dash!
I could tell so many stories about this family, but to sum it up they lived the definition of what we would call a cottagecore life where both Carl and Karin worked as artists in their dream house that they designed and built together. It really was an artist’s home built with pure love, and also a big contrast to what a typical Swedish home looked like at the time. The late 1800s trend was to have a dark home with gothic vibes and brown and dark red colours. The Larsson’s home though is bright and colourful with big windows and homemade textiles sewn by Karin.
I also wanted to tell a bit about Brita, the cute little girl on her father’s shoulders in the original post. Here she is portraited in Brita, Cat and a Sandwich.
She was the fifth child of seven and felt like she didn’t get enough attention from her dad as a middle child in a big family. To get more time with her dad she would ask him to paint only her as often as possible since then she could talk to him without any of her siblings annoying them. This is how she became the most painted of all the children with hundreds of portraits made with her as the model. She was 89 years old when she died in 1982 and loved to talk about her childhood and those many, many painting sessions with dad.
This is one of my favourite paintings by Carl Larsson, A Viking Raid in Dalarna. Here we have all the children in a boat during a cool summer’s eve (from left, Pontus, Brita, Lisbeth, Ulf, Kersti, Esbjörn, Suzanne).
Finished this painting last night. Designs available to be tttooed once I’m back in Milwaukee. My van is currently in the shop out here in Northern California, so it’s looking like early may will be my arrival date back home.
