Focusing my attention on patterning out ‘Force Awakens’ Kylo Ren, I used a class on Skill Share to draft a front and back bodice sloper pattern. This allowed me to manipulate the back pattern piece in order to get the dramatic darks on the back of both the Starkiller Base coat as well as his regular basketweave look. It saved me a lot of time in the end! ❤️

In this mock up, I added things like one of the shoulder pieces and the collar, and I also interfaced those pieces to get a better idea of their finished look. The collar I couldn’t be happier with, as it turned out perfectly! The arm hole still isn’t quite low enough and I’m not quite sure what went wrong with the shoulder pieces. I think I possibly put it on backwards, so I’ll try and change that. Otherwise I’ll have to be a bit more creative in how to fix that piece. ❤️

I haven’t been too happy with anything I’ve freehanded so I decided to redownload Gimp to try my hand at doing this digitally. I don’t know if it’s because of a learning curve, counter-intuitiveness, or the fact I haven’t used this in 9-10 years but this took embarrassingly long to do. Lots of googling was done.
With any luck Bae and I are gonna be Jumpy and Clover from 999 for Halloween (and conventions too. ZE series doesn’t get enough love)
