Eli have been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) it’s a cancer of the bone marrow and blood and is one of the most aggressive forms of childhood cancer. We have been doing all we could financially to see our son out of this but the year haven’t been so good to us(with the whole covid-19 and lockdown thing). Many family members came through and supported(which we do not take for granted). But in last few weeks the support and help reduced drastically ( which is understandably due to the festive season plus the second phase if covid-19). please please share this and spread the word, because people have been talking about how we need a pan week instead of being included in bi week and suggesting their own ideas for when it should be, because they don’t know it already exists.

Often, people think a trans woman wanting FFS (Facial Feminization Surgery) is about vanity. But it’s not. We are trying to feel welcome in our own bodies. I just want to recognise the person in the mirror as me. I want to be out in public without the crushing fear of being clocked as transgender by a neighbour or stranger and how that endangers my fiancé and me.
For several years, I have been saving everything I could spare to pay for FFS; this year I got on insurance that could help cover the costs. I had built up enough to cover my co-pay and time off work. I scheduled my FFS surgery, got my letters of necessity, and applied for pre-certification. Aetna rotinuely pre-certificaties for medically necessary procedures and I had met their requirements.
On August 21, I received a letter from Aetna explaining they could not pre-certificatify my surgery because my Aetna employer group, the US DoD, denys all transgender and gender transition related services in accordance with the Trump administration’s anti-transgender policies. Now I need to raise the remaining $8,000 Aetna would have covered or lose both my deposit and my November 10 surgical window. I cannot do this on my own and am asking for your help. Any amount you can contribute would bring me closer to a healthier and safer life.

I participated in the first round of MFD last year and it may have been the most fun I’ve ever had with a fandom event. No pressure, no expectations, just a pile of people doodling their hearts out and encouraging each other. Summary: My sister Sharmaine Ann Flores was diagnosed on Jan 2017 with Primary Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension it’s a well known life time disease. She was 23 years old that time and now 27. We have been providing her medical needs for almost 3 years which is a life time support of oxygen. The oxygen tank last a day or two depending on her condition. I currently have no income, in spite of me being employed by grocery store company (as it stands). Their excuse for no longer scheduling me is that it is now slower at the store in terms of patronage and they have little hours to spare, even though that contradicts the business they actually receive as well as the hours they have available. With that in mind, the cutting of my hours into nothingoccurredafter Ihad gone to the ER due to suicidal ideation brought on by having night terrors related to my sexual assault(s). I made the mistake of explicitlytelling one of my 4 managers that I was going in for suicidal ideation (albeit, I only used the clinical “ideation” as to avoid saying outright, “I want to kill myself, and I need to be in the ER.”), and…well, I’m suspicious as to why they suddenly cut my hours into nothing.
For further background/context: I have been professionally diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Persistent Depressive Disorder (or Dysthymia), and Complex-PTSD. I have had a history of outpatient care for the better part of a decade. I have participated in psychotherapy and was prescribed an SSRI to combat my emotional irregularities. In spite of my mental illnesses, I have held down a job, prior to my current one, for nearly sixyears before my mental health reached such a low point that I was terminated for attendance issues.
Continuing on with the main focus of the post; because I have no feasible income, I am dangerouslybehind on my rent, and though I managed to pay my bills last month; that was last month, and bills don’t stop…I also need household items. Sanitary items, cat food/litter for my therapy animal, and toiletries. While Shura, the aforementioned therapy animal, currently has all her necessities, it’s only a matter of time before things run out.
I have asked my case manager about government aid (it was my absolute last want to essentially beg for help online to thousands of strangers, everyone bearing witness to my failings). I can only receive aid with my rent when I am served an eviction notice, it is not a preventative. The companies I go through for Internet and electricity mainly focus on pardoning families, not single adults; and, unfortunately, having a cellphone/telephone isn’t seen as important as these other concerns so there is no aid for it all together. Rightly so, I suppose, however I do need my cellphone as I want to begin looking for another job again.
This is a large sum to require, I understand, but…it’s what I need. 600 dollars is what I will need. As previously stated, I am behind on rent, and majority of the money has to go into paying that off so I am not evicted.
