I participated in the first round of MFD last year and it may have been the most fun I’ve ever had with a fandom event. No pressure, no expectations, just a pile of people doodling their hearts out and encouraging each other. Everything from hand-drawn stick figures (yes really) to digital paintings, for dozens of fandoms AND just a lot of random stuff (check out the “Original Works” section, we had everything from drawing a bunch of adorable, round birds to original superhero designs).
Don’t like drawing people? Plenty of opportunities to draw animals! Or settings, or even objects (everything from magical girl weaponry to the contents of someone’s backpack)!
It has the best, most enthusiastic and feel-good, snobbery-free vibe. Come play with us. I swear you won’t regret it.
(Last round I drew 4 treats, in addition to my assignment. Planning to beat that number this round - we’ll see!)
Welcome to our very first Trick or Treat Tumblr Event!
Due to the pandemic, and many missing out on being able to enjoy Halloween in person due to lockdowns, theoldguardevents is creating an online Trick or Treat event for Halloween Night!
How does it work?
As a creator, you sign up and create tricks and treats to give out to your fellow fandom members who come knocking at your door!
Trick: a meme, shitpost, funny graphic, crack!fic etc. You can even rickroll (must be ToG related though!)
Treat: a sketch, drabble, graphic, ficlet, character art etc. Any type of lovely creation!
The creations have no minimum, these can be drabbles or sketches to full fics or art pieces, it’s entirely up to you what you want to create! Making around 5 of each to accommodate trick-or-treaters is the goal!
Streets: No doubt, everyone wants to make content they love, so you get to decide what you want to create! If you’d like to create JoexNicky, Andromaquynh, Book of Nile, General, OT3 etc. just let us know in the sign up form! Your mod will organise the rest, making sure people will be directed to the right place to Trick or Treat! Further details will be given to the creators that sign up!
Lights out: Once you’re all out of ‘candy’, you’ll be able to post up a sign that lets people know, so you can decide how long you’d like Trick or Treaters visiting your blog!

What to do? Go here to sign up! You will be asked to give 3 types of prompts: 1 piece of music 1 word 1 Halloween-themed Bonus prompt AND you can say what you do NOT want (a trope, a ship, pls no spiders…). You will work from one or more prompts to create one or more gifts (fic, gifset, art… deets on the sign-up form) that respect your giftee’s squicks, AND get at least one gift from your creator!!
When? You can sign up hereuntil Sunday Sep 27 and you will receive your prompts in the day after (give or take a day depending on your time zone). Posting day is on Sat 31st Oct!
