LIVE

“Wearing a ‘Peg the Patriarchy’, 'Tax the Rich’ [outfit] doesn’t do anything for us,” says Community Organizer—Ella Dior—as she speaks out against white capitalist power in an interview with Now This. “It’s gonna take a lot of [financial, material] sacrifices.”

This is one of Ella’s latest interviews since being released from jail.

The NYPD, under the leadership of a Democrat mayor, governor, and president, arrested Ella and their accomplices during a peaceful protest outside of the MET Gala. Ella was taken to jail and kept there for 12 hrs during a global pandemic that has killed over 500,000 U.S residents in 1 year and 6 months. The NYPD and the NY city government recklessy endangered Ella’s life to punish her for exercising her birthright to free speech. Tomorrow, the same Democrat governments will tell us that it is the Cuban government that is the real authoritarian government.

Ella was exercising her birthright to free speech because they refuse to go back to a white, colonial, capitalist “normalcy” of slavery, genocide, and ecocide. Ella refused to be a complicit bystander because they believe Black lives are sacred, Black communities matter, and we should love and support each other.

Major shout out to Ella, their protest accomplices, and everyone who shared resources and practiced financial solidarity to get them home safe. Please continue to share resources with bail funds, mutual aid groups, and direct actions if and when you can.

We have nothing to lose but our chains! ✊

I want Tank to actually destroy me

I don’t understand how the government is telling protesters to be peaceful and to go home. Being peaceful hasn’t seemed to work before so what’s different now?
