A balance of playful yellow and passionate red, orange commands attention without overwhelming. This often flamboyant color brings to mind citrus and sunsets, fall leaves, and jack-o’-lanterns. Orange has even been found to stimulate appetite and creativity in humans.
Here, patterns etched in sandstone appear like an artist’s rendering of the Utah landscape. Dramatic sandstone formations are the main attraction at the state’s Arches National Park.

Scene from an ancient sea floor, as if it happened yesterday, however, these are from Permian period (~299–251 million years ago). Some of these fossilized bivalve shells are still articulated, meaning, left and right shells are still closed together. This tells you that particular animal specimen was undisturbed since its death, until now. The hard rock that envelops these shells was once a soft sediment in which these molluscs lived.

Rock mushrooms revisited
Porwaki koło Wlenia nature reserve. Pogórze Izerskie. Cretaceous sandstone xenoliths in a former tertiary volcanic chimney, crystallized into the columnar joint. Basically it’s a sandstone of a basalt-like appearance. Some of the xenoliths retained their former structure.

Absolutely stunning building along Pollokshaw Road, just tucked along an eerily quiet road. I mean, the whole area is not pleasant even walking during the daytime. The local govt can only hope to regenerate the neighborhood via new developments.
It’s a mansion on top of the hill. Winter sun made the red sandstone charming, don’t you agree?
