I remember a time i would ride the streetcar late home at night, Going along Broadview and looking over Riverdale park. The city would be glistening with the lights of the skyscrapers and condominiums. I take for granted the beauty and nuances of night life.

Hey fans, followers, friends and family. I just wanted to make a post regarding my Internet Horrors collections. I enjoyed making them for the month of October, and a little into November. With the intention of them being made for my own experience and joy for the spirit of Halloween and my ever interest of the supernatural.

It made sense to me at the time to combine it with an NFT platform to see where it would go since there was an offer. I learnt a-lot within the time and felt that I was attached to my pieces more than I thought, especially the idea that it was a collection and felt it was more of a family of art than a piece on it’s own. So this is why I’ve stopped making them for now and share the ones I’ve completed.

I hope to come back to this group in the future or at-least look back on them for inspirations for new themes.  But I really appreciate the ones who’ve now owned and purchased my first NFT’s. And even though it’s not a collection, know that they were the first to get me started.

I hope to create new illustrations, while feeling chaotic and free.

First time using the Time-lapse feature in CSP. BUT I should’ve turned it on befor I started. So this is really a copy and paste of layers from bottom to the top. And not really my thought process.

Finding Stella - ScottUminga

I remember sticking with the sky pirate theme, and the captain looking for the star. The latin name for star came up as Stella, and it sort of gave itself a narrative. I knew I wanted large dark celestial bodies surrounding the space when I started the composition. And I wanted to have a feeling that it lead somewhere far. The pose of the character is suppose to show energy a little tiredness like they’ve been looking for awhile.

I was invited to join as a creator for an NFT collection, so I started my first line called “Internet Horrors”. I don’t have an expected drop time but when I get notice or decide to just release them you’ll be able to see my beauties soon. The completion of my collection will extend to the end of 2021, where there will be a total of 31.

I’ve made it in past years that portraits in October are a recurring theme for myself. “On A Side Note - 2018” was an experimentational phase with ink. “Stray Thoughts - 2019”  was based on a particular daily nuisance or irritation I’ve incurred. And “Internet Horrors - 2021” will be an Anthology of Digital Demons that were born from a late night occurrence.

These terrors are a group of 3D Models from my Future Titans collection. Shaped from manipulations and abnormal deformities from their fall. And now they’ve become their own legion of digital demons. And becoming your next Internet Horror.

My illustrations are subject to change.

Dream Trees - Recolour - Scott Uminga The moon has gotten bigger these past few days. Truthfully I haven’t the slightest idea why I painted this one. I do know that looking at it I liked how I painted the bark on the trees, and the luminescent colours along it. As of late I’ve been kind of timid to draw anything with any nature or organic elements. So maybe that’s something I should look towards too in the next few months.

Art vs Artist 2022 - Scott Uminga - I probably read this in a book about superstitions. But I find myself counting pigeons flying in the hopes that I’ll befriend and meet a lot of people. Since the New Year I feel that I’ve been stricken with eventful synchronicities and this phrase has started to follow me “Fortune favours the bold”. Where befor Covid I can handle it. Though now there is alot of it on my table and I have to figure out where to start. I hope to carve more of a path for myself again. And enjoy the things that made me happy.

I thank everyone who’ve become a fan. And everyone who’s admired me for awhile. Please continue to support me with comments, likes, shares and follows. And have fun

The Rift - Scott Uminga

I meant to take this year by the horns and go all out, but a lot of events and things happened at the beginning of the year that really affected my state of being, emotionally, physically and psychologically. I’m not one to share my feelings so vocally as I used to. But for many days I’m scared of my own complacency, and for days where I feel confident, I find I’m thinking that my paths are limited and not fruitful. Truthfully I try not to think too much as of lately, and keep myself entertained in order to curb unwanted thoughts. But I just wanted you all to know I really appreciate your admiration and patience with me. And I hope to feel like me again soon. :)

Digital Drop - Recolour - Scott Uminga

It was just a few minutes after after New Years of 2020 that I posted this.             I remember sitting by my computer and as per usual flooding my social portfolios hoping my wishes and blessing for a creative year would come true for 2020. Ironically It started out really big and when covid came, it took me a few weeks to get back into a groove of a new reality.

Digital Drop initially started the other way around. And if you flip it you can probably see a composition form from it. I may come back to it and remake something along the same lines.  But it was suppose to have the character fall into rather than fall out. And I was going to call it Dream Drop but I think people would start connecting it to Kingdom Hearts. Though I still find myself calling it Dream Drop.

The Golden Trial - ScottUminga - Recolour

I remember I did this just befor New Years Eve in 2019 and I know I wanted it to be gold to bring in the new year. I initially had this piece as green sphere in the middle, and it was suppose to be a temple. So I added this warrior. What they may face I dont know but something ethereal.

As I’m writing this now, I have an urge to start or get Sekiro? XD

2021 Review - As I write this I felt like the year went by like a blur. From what I can remember from the beginning of the year I was excited for the release of all the NISEI Netrunner cards that I worked on throughout August - December of 2020. It was really fun to work on and I never wanted it to stop. Thankfully there was an opportunity during the lockdown while I was out of work to produce new alt arts for the community and that was really exciting. I won an Award and worked with Escape Motions which really gave me a creative boost. As well as create some new artwork in collaboration with Huion Tablets. I’ve created inspiring commissions with talented artists not in my field. I made some NFT’s and a Kofi account. I became more frequently vocal on Discord. I revived my Deviant Art. I joined friends in creating a small visual novel game.  And help establish a manga section at the place I work at.

This does not go without saying that there were many quieter lockdown days where there was nothing happening, and some work days felt like it was on repeat. I have to urge myself to try something just slightly different so I don’t get in a sad headspace. And that i’m grateful to all of you for sticking with me through all of it. I really am going to go for it in 2022 as best I can and, what that will be I don’t know. But I hope you’ll all still admire and feel inspiration from my works. And I hope to grow in beautiful and unexpected ways.

Remember to be kind and humble and continue to send comments, likes, shares and follows. Because I really like seeing them. Don’t forget to backup your files. <3 Scott Uminga

Veins of Gold - ScottUminga - Re-edit

Sometimes I’ll export a file or save out a file and it just doesn’t do it justice at the time.

I hope to return to theme of space exploration in the coming year. Veins of gold was suppose to be a sibling painting to Sun. But I really fell in love with the textures I was able to make in amberlight and flame painter so it was nice to showcase them in stark yellow and the contrasted greys.

I want to thank all my fans, family, friends, followers and fellow artists for making this an interesting year. I found that 2021 is a year for sampling and trying out new things. I remember being super creative and productive at the beginning of the year. I made some super cool card art, I won an award, worked on more commissions than usual, worked on some campaigns and even made a small project with good friends. As it winds down I find I’m in the middle of a cycle that seems to be complacent. And I’m itching to break free and create a lot of personal art. So get excited to see me to flood your feeds with whatever art I create in the coming year! Remember to go at your own pace and when you’re feeling down. And know that I’m always sending all of you good vibes and good spirits always! ❤ ScottUminga
