The missing girl part 34 -

Anna had lost all sense of time and direction, like under a spell she had followed blindly the voice of her missing sister. She kept calling out for Hannah and asking where she was ? But Anna would never get a direct answer but just hear whispers here and there calling out to her.

The woods were dark and the cold had reached her bones. It got harder and harder to concentrate on the whispers. She greeted her teeth when the air began to fill with a low metallic hum.

Saoirse had struggled his way through the woods, madly searching for Anna. He hadn’t stopped to catch his breath or anything when behind some trees he could finally make out her shape.

He called for her as loud as he could but Anna gave no reaction.

The missing girl part 33 -

Going a few hours back just after Anna’s bedroom window flew open and she called down from the initial shock she sat up in bed. She listened to the hurling wind for a moment, did she really here her sister’s voice ?

Anna: “ Hannah is that you ? ”

She shivered, it became really cold really fast inside her room. Then the room filled with whispers of Hannah calling for her - she sounded sad and lost.

Tears streamed down Anna’s face.

Meanwhile Liona and Sarai were sleeping deeply, exhausted from the intense research work they had done the last couple of days.

Mitras was still awake in bed, he had s bad feeling in his gut and didn’t want to miss a message from Saoirse if it came.

Saoirse had finally fallen asleep whispering that he hoped that Anna was safe…

The missing girl part 32 -

Saoirse hadn’t been sleeping well since he was waiting for an answer from Anna and when the phone had rang he jerked up…phone tumbling off the bed. He quickly rolled to the side of the bed to grab his phone off the floor. Impatient to see Anna’s answer but it wasn’t her.

The message came from the main nurse, well technically it came from Miss Bennett . It was a warning about the strange eye in the sky and that Anna could be in danger.

After reading it Saoirse had immediately called the Grey residence and the mother had picked up telling him that Anna was no longer in her room. The father went to look for her together with the neighbor Billy.

Out of it Saoirse immediately got changed and snuck out of the house. On his way he quickly texted the rest of the team about the current situation.

Once he was out in the fields he started to call for Anna on top of his lungs. He knew he had to find her, no matter what, he couldn’t afford to fail not after all they went through and he really cared and liked Anna.

Saoirse opened the front door to find his mother smiling at him. He thought oh no what now ?

Mother: “ Finally you are home Saoirse, I have organised a little family dinner ”

Saoirse: “ What’s that supposed to mean ?”

Mother: “ Well I told your father to come and bring Leif along ”

Saoirse: “ Seriously you invited that good for nothing and the brat he collected ? ”

Mother: “ Saoirse ! Don’t speak I’ll of your father please…and the boy has been through a lot you could really show some empathy…”

Saoirse pouting away, he kicked his shoes off. He looked over and saw his mother making a sad face.

Saoirse: “ Fine I’ll make an effort but you for you since you just came home ”

She smiled and hugged her boy promising that her sumptuous diner would make up for all of it.

After a long excruciating diner due to Saroise he finally went to bed. Anna still hadn’t written back to him since he told her to be careful and not go out alone.

Saoirse wrote again to Anna if she is doing ok and that he is really worried for her since that eye reappeared in the sky. He waited for a long time but till he fell asleep she didn’t reply…

The missing girl part 27 -

Anna was waiting at her neighbour’s place who happened to be Billy Kegstone. He told what happened to him to Anna’s parents the other day since he heard about the whole investigation into poor Hannah’s disappearance.

He was willing to retell his account to the kids that took up to help the police.

Kegstone opened his home door with a nervous smile, inviting the children inside.

Anna : “ Hi Saroise looks like you brought the entire gang ”

Saoirse: “ Well yea it’s a team work ? Why is that a problem ? ”

Anna : “ Nah whatever let’s get to it ” she played nervously with her hands behind her back before she walked off into the living room.

Sarai whispered : “ Maybe she wanted just you to come over ”

Saoirse: “ What ? Stop saying nonsense Sarai ”

Sarai and the others laughed whilst Saoirse face turned a hot pink.

Kegstone: “ Please have a sit, I prepared some tea and my wife made some cake ”

Liona: “ Oh wow thanks so much, that’s the best part ”

Anna: “ Aren’t you hear for research instead of food ? ”

Mitras smiled: “ Both can work together right ”

Anna ignored it pressing her neighbor to tell what he saw two nights ago.

Billy remembered it as if it just happened, the pictures so vivid in his brain. He said he swears he can still hear that metallic sound at night whilst laying awake in bed. He can’t forget that large eye starring down unto him…eventhough he couldn’t tell its intend he only felt death and a malevolent energy from it.

Kegstone: “ You kids shouldn’t mess with this thing. Leave it to the police and adults, this thing ain’t human…just thinking of it makes my body cold”

Mitras: “ We must continue if we hope to discover the truth and find

Anna: ” Thanks Mr.Kegstone for telling us"

Kegstone: “ I was really scared and wanted nothing more but to forget about it…but then I thought about your family and how I would feel if it was my little girl that went missing. I just had to speak out, its the right thing to do ”

The missing girl part 25 -

The lone truck was only accompanied by the light of the moon tonight. Billy Kegstone knew this route by heart, but tonight he came home later than usual from work. It had been a tough day and he noticed it for sure when his eyelids became heavy.

The silence didn’t help his sleepiness and the road was straight with forest to his right and left.

He yawned trying to chase sleep away with turning on his old radio.

The song stumbling by Frank Crumit was playing.

Radio : “ stumbling here and there, stumbling everywhere and I must declare I stepped right on her toes…”

Billy hummed a little a long the song, he knew it from way back. His parents danced the first time to this song.

Lost in memories Billy first didn’t notice the radio freaking out when the voice slowed down and shrill metallic sounds mixed into it.

Intrigued and a little frightened Billy tried to fix the radio but in vein. Uneasy he just turned it off yet the metallic sound remained.

Then there was like a shockwave hitting his car and a red light from above shone down on his truck. Terrified Billy hit the breaks. The light bathed the entire surrounding in a crimson red.

He rolled down the car window, stretching himself out as far as he could to see what was going on.

There it was hovering right above his truck, a gigantic eye in the sky - starring cold and sending a chill down Billy’s spine.

Billy : “ By the name of the Lord !’”

Quickly he sat back I to position hitting the speed pedal with all his might driving off. He didn’t dare to look back or away from the road. He drove and drove like a crazy man until he reached home. He ran our of his car straight into his house never stopping.

The missing girl part 24 -

Sarai had checked the address her mother gave her but Bennett didn’t live there anymore. After some digging and back and forth she managed to find her.

Sarai : “ Lisa Bennett currently resides at a mental facility, sadly she goes in and out of that place ”

Saoirse: “ Wah Sarai you did excellent detective work though. Let’s go maybe we can also bring her some comfort ”

Liona and Mitras agreed and excited but a little worried of what awaits they headed to the institute. After some more back and forth the kids finally got face to face with Lisa.

Saoirse: “ Thank you so much Miss Bennett for seeing us. I really think you can help us with our investigation”

Bennett: “ Investigation? The nurse said this was about some school study or something? ”

Sarai : Well uhm see Miss Bennett for our final exam we are helping the police to look for a missing girl. Her name is Hannah and she disappeared through very similar circumstances then…“

Bennett interrupted: ” my sister ? Is this what this is about ?“

Saoirse: ” Please just listen Miss Bennett Hannah was playing with her sister in the woods and suddenly she was gone no traces but Anna made these drawings of an huge eye and red light just like you mentioned 10 years ago…we believe that what you saw is real “

He starred Bennett in the eyes with so much hope and compassion the woman looked away huddling together on her chair.

Bennett: ” Just please leave I don’t want to talk about this anymore. Don’t get me wrong I’m very sorry for both those girls but if it’s really that then just forget it…she will never be found kids give up “

Saroise was sad hanging his head down, Mitras felt bad for him and wanted to give a second attempt but Sarai stopped him.

Liona: ” Let’s go guys, thanks still for seeing us and we wish you all the best Miss Bennett “

Saroise: ” I’m sorry we just hoped that somehow you could help us to get a little more hope to find her. “

The kids left sad into the evening rain, Lisa watched them from her window.

The missing girl part 22 -

Saoirse team had been spending the entire day inside the old musty achrive section of Apocrypha’s library. Most of the team had given up going through the hundreds of files looking for a similar incident like what happened to Hannah and Anna.

Liona complained: “ I literally can’t no more stare at this files…its like all the letters start dancing on the page ”

Mitras: “ I know the feeling plus my stomach won’t stop complaining ”

Liona : “ Well we only had breakfast which feels like forever ”

Sarai : “ Saoirse let’s call it a day, it’s already 01.00 am my Mom is gonna be worried and pissed ”

Saoirse was so absorbed in the back he didn’t hear it.

Sarai : “ Saoirse ? Hello ? ” she threw a pencil at his head

Saoirse jumped up a little before he turned around at his mates

Saoirse: “ I think I found it guys listen there was this young woman called Lisa Bennett and about ten years ago her sister went missing whilst they went camping out in the woods during late summer. ”

Mitras interrupted : “ Uhm Saoirse many people ho missing what stood out to you in this one to be similar to Hannah’s
case ? ”

Saoirse: “ Well let me finish the police interviewed Lisa several times, she was only 23 back then. In all her statements she mentioned a right light from above and in her first report she said they both saw something that looked like an eye looking through the dense woods ”

Liona: “ Okay that’s just freaky and good job finding it, now I at least feel like I didn’t starve for nothing ” smiled she

Saoirse: “ Sarai it says here, your mother was one of the doctors who examined Lisa back then ? Could this be true ? You need to ask her ”

Sarai: “ Now that you say that my mother did once mention some strange case about two sisters in the woods…could have been that I’ll ask her for sure. Let’s get out of here ”

They all quickly closed their open files and books before grabbing their backpacks to head finally out of the stuffy place.

Liona: “ Lets grab some good at SK’s place before we head home ok ”

They all nodded in anticipation

The missing girl part 21 -

The Clown Team - Cherry , Solis , Ace and Kele followed a string of sighting of the clown at the central national park. A group of teenager was hanging out at the old playground near the fenced area when two of them crawled inside Mr. Humpback and were utterly terrified by what they saw. They ran all the way out of the park before they called authorities who then contacted Apocrypha.

Kele : “ Is this for real ? Cherry you are the apprentice doctor here ”

Cherry : “ I’m not allowed to touch before the forensic team joins us but I’m almost positive this is real ”

Solis : “ That’s just freaky, now this clown creep even skins himself ? ”

Kele : “ Well it does hot the smell to go with it ” pinching her nose shut

Cherry : “ The teenagers thought it was a prank first and believe me I wished it was. This is just too disturbing ”

Ace complained in the back, sitting on one of the old swing

Ace : “ I hope we don’t have to wait much longer out here, it’s cold and I don’t want to be anywhere near that thing ”

Solis: “ I agree bro but we chose this mission and if we chicken out now will lose like a ton of points and fail ”

Kele : “ That will absolutely not happen…they be here shortly…I’m sure”

She looked around into the darkness around them really hoping the adults would arrive soon. None of them spoke it but what if the clown was still around here ? Maybe even watching them as they speak…

The missing girl part 20 -

The Stringer Team - Eibon, Saran , Dádýr and Hannah had chosen to help the Medjays to figure out who was behind the horrible killings happening in Lundain lately.

The team was investigating the latest victim in a small back alley. Her body hanging motionless between the buildings held by the almost invisible strings. With her they were 7 of them now and so far they were not any closer to figuring out who was behind those gruesome murders.

Eibon : “ Again the reversed pentagram drawn with the victims blood ”

Saran : “ Maybe the sigil of Baphomet ? The representation of carnality and earthly principalities ”

Eibon : “ Always as well informed Saran, we should check in with Dádýr and Hannah if they found out more ”

Saran agreed with a nod and walked off. Eibon got up looking up at the lifeless young woman. He wondered what her last thoughts must have been before she passed away.

The missing girl part 19 -

The Frog Man mystery team - are having a hard time due to the rain falling. The swampy areas near the woods have become muddy and slippery making every step dangerous and hard.

However despite the weather cheery Ana was set on capturing the Frog Man today or at least to catch some frogs to examine.

Ana yelled : “ Oh I think this is the right one this time guys, I can feel it…it pulls hard ”

A little scared but enthusiastic Dorime and the other stretched themselves long to see what he captured.

He pulled, and pulled and suddenly a big splash and high up it went…poor Ana slipped falling backwards.

The price, an old wind up duck toy…is it just an object or did it belong to a victim of the frog man ?

The missing girl part 18 -

Whilst Saroise and Dádýr were about to leave school to head home it had started to rain. He saw team Dorime leaving together and as Ana caught sight of him he waved him enthusiastically goodbye with a big smile on his face.

Dádýr : “ The exchange student sure is a weirdo ”

Saoirse : “ I actually kinda like his carefree ways but I can see how that must be too much for you ”

Dádýr : “ Yeah I don’t get why people have to be so loud . Also he is so lucky, our parents always expect so much of us ”

Saoirse : “ Euh what do you mean ? ”

Dádýr : “ What you didn’t hear ? Ana got no parents and we all know kids without parents are uncontrolable ”

Saoirse : “ I disagree I’ve got parents but they are never around…so does that make me the same ? ”

Dádýr : “ I didn’t…Argh Saroise I’m an idiot I’m really sorry that wasn’t cool…by the way how is your Mam ? ”

Saoirse : “ Its okay Dádýr but just don’t judge people that quickly…She is actually home now, and seems a lot better but who knows how long that holds ”

The missing girl part 39 -

Fawcett placed his big rough hands on the kids heads to comfort them. Having been an officers for years now he knew better then anyone how they felt right now and that no words can take the pain or frustration away.

Fawcett: “ This isn’t anyone’s fault, you guys went far beyond, sometimes there just isn’t a happy ending ”

Sarai: “ Its just not fair…”

Saoirse: “ I need to go see Anna”

By that time a forensic team had arrived and Fawcett didn’t want the kids to stay any longer out here. He walked them out of the woods and told his partner Petrovich to get them back home.

Liona: “ I want to go home to my dad and just hug him ”

Mitras: “ Its strange I just feel kind of numb”

Petrovich told them there is no wrong or right way to feel about these things. The kids went inside the car and she drove away.

Saoirse had insisted to go back to Miss Shanti’s place to see Anna.

Tears streamed down her face as soon as she saw the sadness on Saoirse face which he just couldn’t hide

Anna: “ She is gone…dead isn’t she ”

Saoirse: “ I…I’m so sorry Anna ”

He could barley speak yet face her. He had promised and acted all this time like all was gonna be fine.

Anna: “ I told you no one can help…you promised she be back ? It’s so stupid why did I believe you ”

Anna started to cry uncontrollably, deep down she had known she would never again play nor laugh with her sister. Hannah would never again brush her hair, tell her stupid stories about her boyfriend nor hold her hand at night when she couldn’t sleep. The sadness was absolutely overwhelming.

Saoirse just stood there listening to the heart quenching cries of a young girl who truly loved her sister. A girl to whom he gave hope only to be crushed by reality. Saoirse could only wonder if he did more harm then good.

He sat next to her bed reaching his hand under her blanket and firmly grabbed her hand. He squeezed whilst he whispered another apology…Anna just laid there squeezing his hand back as strong as she could.

The missing girl part 38 -

Once Dali had told Mr.Grey and the kids about the bad news about Hannah, they immediately wanted to head back out…they needed to see it with their own eyes. Officer Petrovich picked them up and drove them out there.

When Petrovich’s car arrived near the scene Saoirse could already see all the blue/red lights of the police cars in the dark. It was ominous and as the car came to a halt the officers outside all looked into their direction - sad expressions was all Saoirse could see and his heart dropped further.

He jumped out of the car immediately

Saoirse: “ Where ? Where is she ? ”

Officer: “ Out in the reeds, officer Fawcett is there but you guys shouldn’t see this ”

Saoirse: “ Why just because we are kids ? I promised Anna to bring her back…damn it”

He just ran off, the officer tried to stop him but Petrovich told him to let them go. The other kids followed Saoirse through the woods down to the reeds.

All Saoirse could hear was his heartbeat blocking out all other noise. It felt like he was caught in a nightmare and still as long as he didn’t see her a flicker of hope remaind. It still could be someone else…it still could be misidentification on the police behalf…it still…

He broke through the tall reeds, there almost in a fetal position laid the cold naked body of Hannah Grey…beloved daughter and sister of Anna. Her skin was pale and she looked so fragile. Horrified the kids starred in disbelief when the screams of Mr.Grey pulled them back into the moment.

Mr.Grey: “ No no my baby…my little girl”

Officer Fawcett hurried over to the man holding him back.

Fawcett: “ No father should see their child like this…get him away ”

officers rushed in and took Mr.Grey away from the scene. Saoirse and the others could still hear him cry out for his child. How could this have happened ? All their efforts and hope trodden down in one instant.

The missing girl part 37 :

Saoirse was so relieved to see his friends and wanted to hug them but Anna didn’t look good.

Saoirse: “ Thanks guys but I think Anna needs help ”

Sarai: “ I thought so let’s bring her to Dali whilst I call the parents to let them know their daughter is fine ”

Mr. Grey and Billy came with his truck to pick the kids up and drove over to Miss Dali Shanti’s place.

Saoirse insisted on caring little weak Anna on his back which Mr.Grey appreciated. The kids hurried to the door knocking with vigour.

Miss Dali answered the door yawning, intrigued she looked at the kids

Dali: “ You guys ? What’s going on ? ”

Saoirse: “ Miss Shanti we need your help with Anna can you please check her out if she is ok ? ”

Dali agreed immediately seeing the limb girl on Saoirse back. She begged the to come inside and whilst walking to the back room Liona and Sarai summarised for Dali what had happened.

Once Dali began the check up, the kids waited in the room next door with Mr.Grey whilst Bill drove back to keep Mrs.Grey at home some company.

After what felt forever Dali silently opened the room stepping in with her notes in her hands.

Dali: “ She will be alright, there are only some minor injuries and a small wound on her head that needed three stitches but nothing to worry about. She is extremely exhausted and probably will sleep for quite a while…”

Saoirse: “ Thanks so much Miss Shanti you’re awesome. I’m glad ”

Dali: “ I…”

Mr.Grey: “ Yes thank you so much for taking care of my baby girl ”

The father went over to hug Dali who felt a little uncomfortable to which he apologized

Mr.Grey: “ Sorry I’m just so happy ”

Dali: “ Understandable but on a sadder note…the police just called me and told me they found a dead girl in the woods…I’m so sorry ”

Saoirse: “ What ? What are you saying ? That can’t be ! Did they say who ?!? ”

Dali : “ They confirmed it to most likely be Hannah Grey…my condolences Mr.Grey

The room became absolutely quiet

The missing girl part 36 -

Saoirse had made it just in time or at least that’s how it felt to him. In same moment he got a hold of her the eye disappeared - gone faster then both of them could comprehend. Saoirse felt the adrenaline still pumping through his body as he held Anna as tight as he could in his arms.

The next moment things snapped back to reality - the heavy feeling had left and he could hear the woods again.

That’s when Saoirse heard deep growls coming from behind them. He tried to spot from where it came, looking left and right when he saw big dark silhouettes between the trees with glowing eyes starring at them.

Saoirse: “ Wolves ? What the…”

Anna seemed still kind of out of it, and Saoirse mind was racing how to protect her when he heard the wolves yelp…

Saoirse: “ No what now ? ”

But to his relief the culprits where his friends. Liona, Mitras and Sarai stood there smiling at him

Mitras: “ Are you stealing the entire show again Saoirse ? ”

Liona: “ We couldn’t let that happen right ”

Sarai: “ We are really glad that you find Anna, is she ok ? ”

I know I have not participated in dtiys challenges, and do you know why?
Because I don’t have a style, I rather draw in someone else’s style, because I just have ideas and think about what would look best to nail that concept.

That is why I really believe this piece can easily look far better by someone who fosters a unique style.
