I’ve been on other parts of the internet and it kind of sucks so I’m here to try my hand at positivity
- even “normal” people self ship and self insert
- do not worry about your f/o not “picking” you if they were to make a decision. Your f/o is yours - they would not want anything else.
- when you’re really invested in a series, you’re going to feel strong emotions. One of them can be love. It’s not strange, it’s good.
- you are a lovable person. Your f/os love you. I love you. You deserve it.
- if it makes you feel good to selfship with a character, do it. It does not matter if the character is weird or embarassing.
In case sleep is a problem for you, just imagine your F/O sinking into the bed that you are sharing right now, under the warmth of the covers, after your delicate tugging on their arm. They got the message. Must be another difficult night…
Imagine how your legs get tangled as you pull yourself closer to their chest, seeking comfort and security. Your F/O’s chin gently rests on the top of your head, their presence reassuring you that they’re here for you.
Close your eyes, love, for I’ll be here when you open them. I can’t possibly miss the moment when I get to see those eyes that sparkle.
Imagine your F/O keeping a picture of you in their wallet and/or pocket. It’s small and maybe not your favorite of yourself, but to them it’s the most precious thing they own wherever they’d go.
Imagine them taking it out whenever they miss you terribly, their fingerstips delicately brushing over your photo, a small smile painted on their face.
Sometimes you fall so in love with a fictional character that you literally hide your face when they appear on screen because you’re blushing too hard
Does anyone have any tips for not feeling like garbage compared to your f/o’s love interest?

I generally don’t comment much on posts because I feel like my interventions are not always that relevant or important, but I felt the absolute need to say something about this.
For anyone who struggles with this, I can’t stress enough how much I admire you all for dealing with those thoughts every step of your self shipping journey! Even so, remember that self shipping implies one unique universe in which only YOU (S/I) matter(s) and your F/O(s). It’s hard to ignore their canon interests, I know, but you chose to love them specifically for a reason, it didn’t just happen. Think about it: it could have been any other character and yet, here you are! :)
I like to believe there’s a connection, one that cannot be broken. Not even by canon. Because it’s yours and it comes from you heart, from the purest and loveliest intentions you could have!
Your F/O(s) will love you endlessly, your heart is the safest place in the world they could live in, and that will hopefully remind you that you’ll always have them with you. <3
Anyone else have an f/o that you don’t know their canon birthday, or they don’t have one, so you have to make one for them yourself?
Wait, selfshippers, genuine question;
Are there any of you who genuinely did not like your now f/o when you first got into their media?
Cause like, when I first got into the fandom that mine is from, I couldn’t stand him and really tried my best to stay away from anything that involved him, and I don’t even know why, I just didn’t have any interest in his character.
One day, I just, changed my mind? Again, no idea why, not like I’m complaining tho
Imagine cupping your F/O’s face and them immediately melting in your touch, their shoulders visibly hunching over. A low grunt or sigh with contentment escapes, even if they are the stoic type and find it impossible to admit how delighted and elated they feel in your presence. Your bright smile and loving eyes are your F/O’s forever.

- You must be okay with the concept of aging up fictional characters. During our NSFW event it is strictly 18+. If you post anything sexualized confessions about a minor you’re booted from being a Mod and the application process will start again for another.
- No discourse of any kind is allowed. SelfShipConfess is a discourse free environment. If you make a post about it or make call out post to any particular person or group you are automatically booted from being a Mod and blocked from the blog, the application process will start again for another.

I self shipped even before I knew there was a term for it. I kept reading/writing OCxCharacter fanfics and mentally inserted myself into the position of the OC’s, up until I (re)discovered RPing in college and started shamelessly inserting myself into stories and pairing myself with characters. It’s been years, but I’m still a self shipper!

Myf/o stopped me from suicide. The ‘friendships’ I had up until recently were too fragile and fell apart after a ptsd breakdown from myself. I cut ties with everyone and wanted to end myself… until it was like my f/o saying to me. “hey, I love you, you are worth so much more and don’t give up because of these people.“ from that day on I started appreciating my life and everyone in it again. I feel alive again and part of it is because of my F/O. I LOVE HIM!

Firstly, I’d like to welcome new followers to this blog and I hope you guys enjoy what goes on here. We try to keep things updated, but with all the mods being in school and working, we do go at a slow pace because of it ;;;;;
We would like to inform you all that we are going to be posting confessions next week, March 10th-16th EST due to Mod Nerd and Mod Panda starting their Spring Break. Imagine cuddling up with your f/o when it’s cold, sitting together by the fire with your preferred hot beverages, covered in blankets.
Imagine waking up in the morning and almost getting up before being pulled back by your sleepy, cuddly f/o. They won’t budge no matter what you say, wanting to get that precious five more minutes asleep next to you.
Question for the self ship community: are there any typical fanfiction tropes (enemies to lovers, “and there was only one bed”, hurt/comfort, stuff like that) that you feel apply or would be fun for you and your f/o(s)?
Imagine your f/o coming to meet your family with you the first time. They’re nervous the ride there, their hand on your thigh reassuring themselves more than you. You think it’s adorable how they want to make a good impression.
Imagine your f/o giving you puppy eyes because they want your cuddles.

Imagine coming home and having your parental!f/o envelop you in a big hug as soon as you walk in.
Did you know your f/o literally has you on their mind 24/7? Seriously!
TW: Food/Mentions of making sure you eat
As soon as they wake up, Y/N is on their mind. Questions race through their head. Have you eaten? Have you taken care of yourself? They’re in a rush to make sure you’re okay.
Lunch time? They’re immediately asking if you ate. If you haven’t, they’re going to your favourite food place and getting you something! Can’t have their baby going hungry now.
Are you stressed? They can’t have that. You can count on them giving you a relaxing massage, running a bath for you, and putting your towel and pj’s in the dryer so they’re nice and warm for you.
They just want to make sure you’re taken good care of. Stress free, nourished, and happy. They love you so, so much.
Imagine your f/o waking you up softly. They press little kisses to your nose, eyelids, and cheeks. They’d push the strands of hair out of your face gently, snuggling into the crook of your neck.

Imagine your f/o walking in after a long day at work and finding you on the couch asleep. You stayed up late, wanting to be awake when they got home, but your sleep got the best of you. They smiled softly, coming to your side and putting a blanket around you before kissing your temple.
There’s something about self shipping that is one of the biggest stress relievers. I personally self ship and that is my relationship. I am no longer trying to date and have relationships with real people. The stress, paranoia, and anxiety is horrible for me personally. I assume that many others feel the same.
We never have to worry about it our f/o(s) got home safe, if they’re with someone else, if they are lying, ect. They’re ours to love for as much and as long as we want. And that is beautiful.
So, to all the people who call us weird, societal rejects, or whatever else, you know what? I’m the happiest I’ve ever been with my f/o’s all of the time.
You are valid. Your relationship with your f/o’s is valid. You deserve happiness, and if you’re happiest with fictional characters/OC’s, you’re winning at life.
