Mother elephant can’t wake baby sound asleep, asks keepers for help (via)
As a mom, I remember that first time my kids slept through the night. That sheer panic when you wake up & realize your baby didn’t cry a single time and you race to the nursery to make sure everything is ok. I half wonder if that’s the case here. It’s great the mom trusts the zookeepers enough to get help and I loved that as soon as the baby (who’s still very young, judging from the fur on its head) was on its feet, it ran straight for mama.

This was the tail end of several minutes of grooming. I don’t think Beethoven even wanted it in the first place, given that he kept moving his head. Very cute ending pose.
