Carry On Through The Ages is back for its Third Year!
I’ve been going back and forth for the last month, wondering if I wanted to do another year of COTTA. I’ve decided that I love it too much to not go for another year.
I think as long as I’m still writing for this fandom, I won’t be able to abandon my baby.
There won’t be too many changes from last year’s event. The event is still going to be a week-long (September 12-16). The Discord server is still active (though it’s a little quiet at the moment) (hopefully that will change once signups happen). Hopefully the server will be useful for people to exchange ideas and for help when it comes to research. It will also be a place for those who want to beta. I will be sending the Discord link with the confirmation email once the signup period is done.
Like last year, posting dates will be given closer to the actual event, once everyone has a chance to think about their concept. I want to also make sure that every day of the event has (roughly) an equal amount of people posting.
A link to the Sign Up page will be posted on April 8th, and will remain open for two weeks.

My theory is that to some degree Simon possibly still has magic because of the wings and tail. I’m sure this has been said many times but it’s possible that Simon won’t be aware of this until he is pushed to that point where the magic reacts before he does seeing as there are some things he could do without using words.
I imagine it would be similar to Going Off, perhaps more of a rush because he’s doing it to protect someone (i.e Baz, Penny, Agatha)
Ok so this got me thinking, what if he only lost the weird over powered magic he got from all those word rituals the mage has done, but still retains his own original magic. Like, it was always there but it was obscured by the big bad magic, and Simon didn’t notice it. Now the weird magic is gone, but Simon isn’t used to his own magic and it’s maybe too small to notice? Or maybe he can’t notice it because it was always there? But either way, it feels and operates differently from what Simon is used to see as magic, so he’s not aware of it.
couldn’t stop thinking about these two after i finished awtwb. I can’t put into words how much I adore this series and it’s characters; Thankyou @rainbowrowell and everyone who made these books so magical <3
OOPS i forgot to reply to this sorry sdfkjdh uh it was something about simon as a statue made of gold and baz as the dude who holds its hand and breaks the curse blah blah soulmates something something blah blah :) the writing style i began it in makes me want to tear my hair out unfortunately
alex, simon, harry, and aziraphale: i know the texture of his hair, the way his eyes twinkle and their exact color, his favorite foods, and i spend all my time watching him because we are ENEMIES.
henry, baz, draco, and crowley: *sigh* i love him, but he must never know, so i’ll just slowly disentigrate inside while falling more in love with him every day.
i feel like i need to add finn to the first group in this (except for him it’s more like “because we are BEST FRIENDS”) and poe to the second group because he is SUCH a disaster gay
