#special interest
Sorry I disappeared for 3 months and was declared a “missing person” or whatever, I was busy being consumed by my hyperfixation
me, every time I get a new hyperfixation: oh my god, this thing is so wonderful! I’m literally going to love this thing at this same intensity until the day I die.
me, when the hyperfixation ends: my identity as a person is shattered. there is a void that will never be filled. I will never move on from this.
me, when I get my next hyperfixation: oh my god, this thing is so wonderful! I’m literally going to love this thing until I die!

Does any other autistic person have something they hate but also completely know too much about/ are incredibly invested in? Like a hyper fixation or special interest that also freaks you out or that you also hate? Mine is zombies. Absolutely HORRIFIED by them but you’ll def catch me watching zombie content, and explaining how different one’s work. I think it ties into my special interest of cults.
I decided a whilee ago 2 nevr give CEC any of my money ever again (when i quit due to mistreatment) but now with the autism speaks thing i wish i could take back every single cent i evr gave them

If there must be a house music renaissance, then let it by Special Interest’s doing in pushing it beyond just a revival and giving it a purpose beyond the movement it creates on the dance floor today. The New Orleans punk band made that approach felt on their 2020 breakthrougheffortThe Passion Of in that they did everything in the dark disco was with added teeth involved. ”(Herman’s) House”, their latest single and first since inking with Rough Trade, is the equivalent of smashing together the pit with the club, all while remaining resoundingly political about their battle cry. Feeding its energy from that of the Angola Three – Black revolutionaries who maintained resistant against their incarceration despite being held in solitary confinement for over 40 years – fueling their beacon to destroy oppression, Special Interest deconstruct the dance with it, jarring house pianos against a buzzing synth beat, with Alli Logout doubling as both the siren call and the snarling voice resistance. “May the fire in the street light the way,” she proclaims. They’re not only burning down the disco, but the whole system with it.
Special Interest’s “(Herman’s) House” single is available now on Rough Trade.
I honestly don’t know how anyone IRL has heard me talk about Les Miserables and didn’t automatically figure out I’m autistic.
Thought I would share this, if you didn’t know makeup is one of my other special interests.
