it’s okay if your autism makes everything harder. it’s okay if your autism makes you worse at most tasks. it’s okay if you need a support person (or support animal) for your autism.

autistic people deserve love, support, and kindness even when we’re difficult. even when we’re heavily dependent on others. even if we can’t work or can’t cook or can’t drive.

autistic people deserve to be loved and appreciated regardless of whether or not we’re “useful” or contributing anything incredible to society.

Does any other autistic person have something they hate but also completely know too much about/ are incredibly invested in? Like a hyper fixation or special interest that also freaks you out or that you also hate? Mine is zombies. Absolutely HORRIFIED by them but you’ll def catch me watching zombie content, and explaining how different one’s work. I think it ties into my special interest of cults.

To the autistic bisexuals reading this,

You are loved. You are worthy of respect. You are valued. You are deserving of all things good. Our community is glad to have you.

I hope you have a lovely day or evening.

Autism in media: I got bored so I read three science textbooks and completed all these equations and now I’m working on the coding for this app-

Autism in real life: I’m so bored that every bone in my body feels like it’s being turned into one but don’t even talkto me about doing something about it

ENG: Warning, I’m an android.
(autistic*, but it’s almost the same)

I wanted to do this in my native language, because there is not much information about autism here where I live. And I think it is important that autistic people who speak Spanish and are Latino have some representation.

Machine-Artist?

I’m really struggling to make an illustration, at least to put on my social media (I’m still working on a beautiful children’s book).

It’s a little bit sad, that in order to make your work seen you have to constantly work hyper hard without getting paid, because a l g o r i t h m s,and most of the people will scroll past it in 5 seconds. (it’s not people’s fault, social media is done that way on purpose)

Neurodivergent artist have the right to be seen even if they CAN’T post everyday (and even if they are not neurodiverse, it shouldn’t be this way), I had overworked myself a lot of times and had been left sick in bed, without energy, without even talk to anyone. And I’m super fortunate because I can work with my client, and I know they like the things I make -my heart is soo gratefull-.

I think there’s a really big problem here, how it’s that people have to APOLOGIZE because they didn’t posted in TWO days???. That’s not healthy for anyone. We cannot be dependent on things that evolve faster than ourselves and we don’t even fully understand, it’s just wild. I really want everyone, and every artist to be themselves and own their own pase and time. Imagine what artworks we could be creating if we just focus on this, and not work ourselves out just to post every day or every other day. More meaningfull and interesting pieces… Obviusly there’s a lot of artist that make BEAUTIFULL and outstanding art, but I think the majority of us struggle with this rhythm of being, and put a lot of pressure on things we can’t fully control, much more when there’s a dissability involved.

I just wanted to express this, we are not machines that need an algorithm to exist, we are here now, we can make a little bit of a difference even if we can’t follow what everyone says we should do.

I’m not a factory.

(✨Srry if i misspelled something, English is not my first lenguage✨ lot’s of love MudeCartoon)

esrah-rah-rasputin:

To all other autistic people (and anyone else who may relate because of being ND or disabled):

You have worth outside of what society thinks a “functional” person looks like, and you always will.

It’s okay for you to take up space and use resources and need help. Everyone takes up space in life and needs help at times, and you are worth it.

Your life is not a waste. Really, your life is valuable just as it is, how it has been, and how it will be.

You do not deserve to be mistreated for being different and struggling with different things. No one deserves that, including you.

Throughout #autgust I will be posting portraits of other Autistic People of Color to celebrate the diversity of autistics and challenge the way society has engrained in us to see autism.

“You don’t look autistic.”

Yes I do.

Here’s Part 1… Everyone in this^ post is a nonbinary autistic person of color. These are volunteers.

Enjoy!

Animals that I think are autistic icon...
cats
bats
birds
whales
fireflies

#autgust : Autistic Animal Mascots…

Which animal symbols do yall relate to?

Cats: “mew” • Like to make little noises to communicate • come off as aloof but actually just show affection differently • sometimes like touch…sometimes NO • ZOOM

Bats: often sensitive to light • unheard communication • known for flapping (literally called “Bats”) • so misunderstood - and feared??? • Needs dark and quiet

Birds (especially corvids and parrots): Sounds Galore! Some even mimic sounds they hear • More flapping • puzzle solvers • some are prone to anxiety when favorite person is gone • unique senses of style

Whales (Dolphins, “whales”, porpoises, belugas, narwhals): “EEEEE” • Some are very social, othrs are shy and roam the world humming ethereal tunes in the darkness we cannot comprehend • they do flips and spins just for fun • Sound sensitive. Noise pollution is harmful • Trickster Gods. But also have shown great empathy

Fireflies: Light it Up Gold! • Nonverbal Communication • Just love dark nights and cozy leaf litter • sensitive environmental changes • Somehow… we always find each other in the darkness ♡

nonbinarystarcomics:

Hey! Tired of having to share a month -that was chosen by allistics- with allistics? Tired of spending “your” month having to raise your voice over “autism moms”, promoting “awareness”, and fighting puzzle peices and hate groups? ~ WELL NO MORE!

August is officially Âûtistic Rebellion Month. Its ÂûtisticPRIDEMonth. We’re not out here for allistics - we’re out here for ourselves and this is OUR month. ❤

To celebrate, I’ll be making a cheeky Autistic Rebellion fact of the day for each day. Today’s fact is obviously: It’s Autistic Rebellion Month babeyyyy!

Spread the word. (Especially you, allies.)
