[Image ID: A 2-tone black, grey and white linocut/ relief print. The print has lines in black and a dark, cool grey.
The print depicts two hands holding a silver sugar bowl. The sugar bowl has the reflections of silhouettes of people in the bottom half of the body broken up into thin lines. On the top left of the body is a spider. The spider has white and black stripes on its legs and two white curves in the middle of its body and head.
The background is a button-up shirt with a periodic curved horizontal lines on it. In the top are two braids.]
Finished my ‘We Have Always Lived in This Castle Print for my class! I like how it turned out! Might experiment with doing multiple shades of grey with the same design sometime just b/c that sounds cool.
Always happy to show off my spooder child! For those who hadn’t seen prior, the first pic is how big they were when I very first got’em. Since then, they’ve molted twice and gotten MUCH bigger, and has started to grow into their adult colors!! Still have a lot of growing to do, but still so happy with this pretty bby. ;;;; Also! While the gender is still currently unknown, I’ve decided to name them Héctor…Cuz I’m Coco trash, and ya know…it’s a Mexican Redknee…askjdfd
seein so many jumping spoods lol
If I may be so real with you, the Pycnogonid sea spider was pretty challenging to draw. I chose a more simple-looking specimen for reference because looking at some of these funky wonky guys genuinely makes me queasy. They’re incredible animals, with over a thousand different species found all over the world at all sorts of depths! But that’s all the quick facts I could get from Wikipedia before the pictures scared me off. Have fun looking them up on your own time, they’re well documented!
