Cacti & Euphorbias aren’t they gorgeous!?

I’ve grown these indoors for a while now, the oldest one I’ve had for about 4 years. They all need bright indirect light if indoors and I always let the soil dry well between watering sessions.

I haven’t fertilized them or repotted them in a long time, except my pen*s cactus.

Repotted some of my plants the other day, and made a little succulent nursery! So stinking cute! But, in case you didn’t know, it’s such a pain to repot a cactus! Literally!

After several years of mealy bug battles (including lots of hard pruning), I’m happy to report my in-law’s jade tree is pest free - I’m finally comfortable touching it for the gram!

Plants: Aloe x nobilis (mother and repotted pups)

Although I enjoyed the pink/orange blush, I expect the entire plant to de-stress and become fully green again in a week or two.
-
2) this pup had a fan-like structure, unlike the rosette structure of the mother plant - excited to watch it grow…
-
These office plants were skillfully separated and repotted by @houseplantgal (with my guidance of course )

Haworthia attenuata seen at The Berry Farm in Chatham, NY.  Top pic plant is wildly colorful and growing pups!  A common, but very charming succulent.  I got a pup from a fellow member of the NY Cactus and Succulent Society, so far it is staying small, but I have high hopes!

Saw this oddly shaped cactus at The Botanic Studio, Troy, NY.  Maybe it grew for a while without enough light and too much water and then suddenly got enough light so the new growth at the top plumped up, like reverse etiolation?  Anyway, I like it, it reminds me of a water tower.

My Stapelia began as a single branch cutting given to me at a meeting of the New York Cactus & Succulent Society (the finger on the right side) and has since grown the left branch and just started some new growth at the bottom left. The original portion has also begun to grow at the top. Maybe my plants will become monsters under this grow light!

Two lovely Hens and Chicks (Sempervivum) at the Berry Farm in Chatham, NY.  Too big for my collection currently, but if I someday have an outdoor space I will buy a whole slew of these guys!

Two months ago, the partner in crime and I moved to a new apartment in Brooklyn.  It is in a great neighborhood, but it lacks the good light that the old apartment had.  So, I put together a grow light setup hoping that my succulents would accept it as a sun substitute.

I was pleased as punch to notice 5 days ago that my Trichocereus bridgesii monstrose had put off some new growth!  These two pictures compare the growth over just five days.  The grow light is working!

An Aloe with red spines, seen at the Berkshire Botanical Garden.  I was drawn to succulents because of their variety of textures and this one is no exception!  I only have two Aloe in my collection, but when I have more space I want to expand and get more.  For now, they just tend to be too big for my little apartment windowsill!

A beautiful crested Echeveria at the Berkshire Botanical Garden.  I learned about crested succulents at one of my first meetings of the New York Cactus & Succulent Society and have enjoyed identifying them ever since.  In a nutshell, cristate growth occurs when the apical meristem (upper growth tissue) of the plant undergoes a mutation which makes it grow irregularly.  Instead of new tissue growing as a point, it grows in a line and causes the plant to fan out (and look pretty cool!).
