Spy is back with his notapple pie in a very important Cooking Competition, with no less than HEAVY ETCHEBEST (loule) as his jury! Will he manage to defend his Pie?

This is my entry for Erdamon’s TV Collab 2!

It was made closely during the same period as That Spy is a Shef, for them to be twinswith a running gag around that Banana Pie.

Now, trivia for our non-french watchers here!

Philippe Etchebest is a great french Chef who happened to do the french version of Kitchen Nightmares originally hosted by Gordon Ramsay. He’s basically Ramsay’s french alter ego, with all the caustic remarks it involves; except… you don’t dare to contest or annoy Philippe. Philippe is a mountain of a man, a rugbyman, a spartian, a litteral Heavy Weapons Guy!

So of course, all the voice lines you can hear here are picked from Philippe’s, either in Top Chef, either in Cauchemar en Cuisine. I suggest you turn the subtitles on if you’re not at ease with french!;)

Thank you a lot everybody who voted for my entry! I couldn’t dream of anything better than a nomination! :) Especially with all the cool entries of this year. I’m thankful at a point you can’t imagine. <3

Useless Trivia:

• I wrote the story during my ski holidays, back in March 2017 and doodled a first Story Board version

• Doodled the final Story Board in November/December 2017

• Decided of the low framerate (=P) around Januaryand made my first anim test back then (original vid available here)

• Worked on the assets a little bit every evenings I could between January and February

• Blocked out the whole Layout within a day and a half in February

• Animated the whole project between February and March

• Mr. Light lit it in a tiny weekend!

François Perusse, c'est toute mon adolescence. Cela fait bien 12 ans que je souhaite adapter Le Retour du Courrier en animation. C'est aujourd'hui chose faite. :) Et ça devrait connaitre quelques suite, honhon! Car Les 2 Minutes du Peuple, c'est une source intarissable de sketches qui ne demandent qu'à être animés (même si cela a déjà été fait officiellement). En parlant de la version animée officielle; je souhaitais m'en éloigner et adapter ce que j'avais en tête toutes ces années, plutôt que de repomper dessus. Anyway, enjoy! ;)

François Perusse is all my teenagehood. It’s been at least 12 years since I wanted to adapt Return of Post in an animated version. Today it’s finally done. :) And this should get some sequels, honhon! Because Les 2 Minutes du Peuple is an inexhaustible source of audio skits waiting to get animated (although it has already been done officially). Talking about the official animated version; I wanted to drift away from it and adapt what I had in mind all those years, instead of copy-pasting it. Anyway, enjoy! ;) I did my best to translate the many puns in english so my international audience isn’t lost.

This is an animated adaptation of an audio skit by the quebecois humorist François Perusse, that I wanted to make for more than ten years in animated form. Stay tuned, it’s coming very very soon! ;)
