After MASH: TIL that John Schuck, the Painless Pole, starred as Herman Munster in the 80s sitcom reboot “The Munsters Today.”
Really quite noteworthy info for any fan of MASH or of the great Fred Gwynne, who originated the role.

Rob Zombie’s the Munsters Teaser Trailer
Been following the production of this our of curiousity, and it seems that Rob is both playing the adaptation straight (no gritty subversion of the old show etc.) and has a great deal of affection for the source material?
Admittedly I probably wouldn’t have liked an adaptation of the Munsters in Rob Zombie’s typical style (wasn’t a fan of his Halloween remakes, for example, but I do remember liking the Bigfoot comic he did AGES ago), but I’m kind of puzzled as to what would be added by making a 1:1 copy of the old Munsters stuff in 2022.
Oh! If you didn’t know Sylvester McCoy is in this (as a friend of the grandad, I think) as is Cassandra Peterson (as a kind of anti-Elvira, a stiff conservative person to play against type).
Yes, the absolute faithfulness is a surprise, but likewise an odd choice in terms of adding anything new.
Still, in terms of updating, they might be aware of some pitfalls to avoid…
