rewatching gomens with friends reignited my love for it… problems of the brain prevented me from posting all my fanart back in the day but rest assured i drew a Lot of it

[ID in alt text + longer version under the cut]

[ID: four colorful digital drawings, fanart of the TV show Good Omens.

In the first drawing, the four Them are lined up, in order: Wensleydale, Brian, Pepper and Adam. Wensleydale is holding the plate of a scale between his hands; the scale consists of two small golden plates tied up with string to a branch that goes offscreen to the side. Brian is putting on a paper crown. Pepper stands straight with her hands resting on a wooden sword. Adam, looking to the side, holds a small skull between his hands.

In the second drawing, Anathema holds a small paper between her fingers, her hand held up high to her face. With her other hand, she holds Agnes Nutter’s book. Her head is turned to the side, looking at the small paper with intensity. Besides her, it reads “I feel witchcraft upon me,” in a style meant to imitate the one of Troubled Birds.

The third drawing is a screenshot redraw. Crowley is sitting at a table with a glass of wine, looking intently at Aziraphale besides him. Aziraphale is offscreen, eating; there are small dialogue bubbles saying “Ñom, ñom” coming out from that side. Crowley has medium-lenght hair and is resting his mouth against his hand. An arrow besides him points to him and reads “100% fantasizing about being topped.”

The fourth drawing is a sketch, referencing a scene from popular Argentinian animated webseries “Alejo y Valentina” (2002–2006). Aziraphale and Crowley are standing in front of the counter at McDonald’s, speaking to a tired-looking waiter.

The Seventh Seal

Next entry in my Bird Omens series, we have the Antichrist himself in Adam, with his friends Brian, Wensleydale, and Pepper — aka The Them. It was an extremely deliberate choice to have the kids all as pigeons as it is a very big dichotomy to the Death & the Horsepeople who are all birds of prey.

Adam is a Nicobar Pigeon, our closest Dodo relative and just a fancy thing because they have the most amazing feathers. Brian is a Polish Helmet Pigeon, Pepper is a Danish Suabian Pigeon, and finally, Wensleydale is a South-German Monk. I chose them for the colour dichotomy to be perfectly honest; all of them use three variants of grey (warm/cool/toner) and meet in the middle with Wensleydale being iridescent like Adam.

I made a really deliberate choice in the halo for this one with Adam — his powers are so immense that they defy all other celestials, but he has a guiding hand on either wing lending backup…

(Crowley and Aziraphale’s halo colours were deliberate just for this — no others in the series will or have gold/silver.)

This one was a behemoth to finish and took me an entire week, partially due to health, but also just due to the intensity of it. Thank you again to my dear @kyuofcosmic for the suggestion of a Nicobar for Adam, your birds have challenged me in this project in wonderful ways, and a big thank you to @pony-farts for being a compositional aid as well when I was trying to balance it.

Just two more entries left in these main pieces, with Shadwell & Madame Tracy, and Death & Horsepeople to go!

Others in the series:

It started with an Owl.

Then Bird Omens came to be a thing for me, and it swept me away for a month and a half. Nine mixed-media illustrations in total, made with Copic markers and specially pigmented metallic and pearlescent inks on 300gsm watercolour (rough, rendering on smooth side) paper to allow me to use a wet-on-wet technique for colour layering to mix, shade, highlight, or straight up perform witchcraft.

I feel like you can watch my art level up going through each one - all of them used new techniques or mediums for me, and I pushed myself to try whatever I felt I could make work.

I cannot thank my own ineffable dear Kyu enough for helping me with bird choices, and all of you seeing people comment along with retweet/reblog with fun tags has been really wonderful.

This particular series might be done but I have plans for a lot more illustration work, Good Omens inspired and otherwise. I hope everyone can enjoy me sharing more work in the future. It’s nice doing full illustrations again after 5 years of hiatus.

Individual entries in the series:

description:the photos were made at table rock state park in NC. the 4 children dolls (and Dog) are shown climbing and walking around in the sun on large flattish boulders with shrubbery around them and blue sky and mountains in the distance.

note for doll people:
i’ve used mattel Creatable World bodies and team stacie / harry potter heads for these hybrid dolls. they’re roughly 1:6 scale like most of my others. i repainted the hair on the HP guys and gave adam strange eyes, but other than that there’s not a whole lot of customizing involved. the clothes used are mostly CW and barbie, plus some others.

Have you read the Good Omens book?

No, I haven’t.  I haven’t had the desire to read an actual book since my daughter was born 5 years ago.  However, I read a lot of fanfiction.  Maybe I’ll pick it up when I get more than half an hour at a time to myself.
