Just because we are in the holiday season does not mean that mental health crises, COVID-19 isolation, and ongoing trauma are on pause. This is especially true for marginalized communities like ours.

Since 2014, Trans Lifeline has been connecting trans people to the community support and resources we need to survive and thrive. If you need support or help in a crisis, call the lifeline at (877) 565-8860. If you are in Canada, you can call (877) 330-6366.

Trans Lifeline is based on ten principles:

  1. Peer support (active listening, community knowledge, shared lived experience & trust to be there for our peers)
  2. Community, not cops (preempting crises by connecting trans people with each other; will not call emergency services or law enforcement without your explicit request)
  3. Harm reduction (reducing harm and not creating barriers to supporting our peers through their survival)
  4. Confidentiality & anonymity (callers’ identities are fully anonymous, and nothing said will ever be shared without a caller’s request)
  5. Structural not pathological (develop and recognize our own unique resilience and power by building community together)
  6. Informed consent (never bring in outside resources or engage a caller in any activity without their fully informed and consensual request)
  7. Dismantling white supremacy (centering the people in our communities who face the most barriers to economic justice)
  8. Financial redistribution (draw inspiration from the principles of mutual aid as we take responsibility for caring for one another and changing our conditions)
  9. Equity, not equality (address the failures of disparate levels of privilege and access caused by colonialism, white supremacy, ableism, and transmisogyny)
  10. Autonomy & self determination (right to self identify, have autonomy over our choices, and be in the drivers’ seat of your own future)

Thank you for helping us support the worldwide LGBTQ+ community.
Many of our contributors, betas, mods, and admin live within this umbrella, and we feel pretty confident a lot of you do as well.

This is a digital zine we are offering as a gift for donating directly to one of our supported charities.
It will be released on October 25th. This form reserves your copy that will be automatically sent to the email specified upon release.
The minimum donation required to reserve a copy of the zine pdf is $10 USD, but you can split that between whichever of the charities you would like. And you are welcomed to donate more if you wish, or to donate as a gift to someone else. If you make multiple donations with the intention of getting multiple copies of the zine, please fill out a separate form for each recipient. If this is a gift, you will be able to indicate that. You will need to take a screen shot of the donation confirmation, or of the confirmation email that you might receive, in order to reserve your copy. Please be prepared to do this before you make your donation.
You can find the charity list here:.
