Time for some sadness. Takes places after Clive gets knocked unconscious by this metal pipe thing. He’s sorry for staining her gloves with his blood.

I imagine that she didn’t know about the whole huge ass war machine death robot as Clive wanted to “surprise” her with it. She wasn’t thrilled about taking revenge on innocent london with a war machine at all and immediately sought out to stop him. While the Professor and Co are busy with Clive, she’s climbing the fortress to confront him directly.

And she succeeds. Right as the building is about to collapse. Their argument is cut short when Clive gets knocked unconscious by falling debris and she twists her ankle. With a hurt leg she can’t run anywhere and stays with Clive, not that she could leave him alone in the collapsing tower anyways. She doesn’t support his decision of revenge or justice as he calls it, but he’s still the person she holds dear to her heart and that will never change… She’ll stay until the end.

“I wasn’t aware how much you grew attached…”

It really hurt Flora when her future self turned out to not be her future self.

The two grew really close. The Luke’s half liked, half hated each other so neither cared as much, but the Flora’s? They really bonded. Flora was just so amazed by this elegant lady that is her future self and is respected by everyone. Never left alone. Future Luke is always by her side. Even younger Luke treats her future self differently and the Professor sees her as an equal now rather than a young child. She is finally one of them. Her personal most desperate wish came true…

Future Flora’s reveal as Mary Gold felt like a personal betrayal.

Constance Doves’s Fortune

This is a question that comes up pretty often, and for good reason: where did Constance Dove get all that money? We don’t know anything about her other than her social status, that she was a good adoptive mother, and that she died. She sounds sweet and unassuming, but is basically just a plot device to explain why Clive is rich. Now this could be seen as more of a fic prompt than a theory, but could Clive be continuing/repurposing something that she started?

Look, Future London is massive. The construction is unfinished, as you can see on “Midland Road”, but the drainpipes and grates are rusted, and there are full grown trees out in the distance. You could say Dimitri and Clive got them like that on purpose, but what if they didn’t? Do you really think a city can be popped up in just ~5 years, even with infinite money at your disposal? What if Future London was a project started by Constance for whatever reason, and the whole thing was included in Clive’s inheritance?

Why would she build this? It would have to be for something both literally and figuratively underground. According to her anecdotally good nature, maybe she was trying to evade the corrupt government by building a secret community exempt from the law, housing people and letting them live on their own terms. It would explain why the residents didn’t seem like actors so much as people who have lived there for a long time, participating in an established community.

This is where the “theory” gets kind of edgy. Clive’s gang goes by the vague name of “The Family”. You’d think they’d have his name in front as families typically do. He somehow built up a functional organized crime ring in those ~5 years as well? It’s not impossible, but it’s unlikely. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Spring and Cogg said that they loyally worked for the Dove family, right? What family? It was just Constance until she adopted Clive. What if The Family is short for The Dove Family, and it’s been around much longer than Clive? It would explain how organized and powerful it is, but it would also explain why Spring and Cogg didn’t seem too bothered by the underground city. They expressed guilt and horror at Clive’s terrorism plan, but not anything going on before that.

Back to the topic of the post, what if Constance’s massive fortune came from illegal activity? That way, someone could make a ridiculously obscene amount of money even at an old age. All of this could have been part of Clive’s inheritance, repurposed by him for his revenge plan, disregarding any of the original intent behind it.

Or Constance could’ve just made all that money from selling both soap andchocolate.

Professor Layton x Zero Escape

Junpei: my time-travel-reasearching girlfriend, now fiancé, was pulled into an incinerator by this greedy, corrupt guy, but I saved her past self by helping her solve a sudoku.

Layton: one puzzle? So it was quite that simple, eh? *sheds a single tear*

Rough drawings of Lost future, kinda a animatic not sure but I’m planning to fully colour each drawing

Curious Village’s ending theme isn’t all that grand compared to the others, but it has a unique and undeniably Laytonesque feeling. Simple and charming. Contentment at the end of a journey and wondering what the future holds.

Iris (Diabolical Box) is a sweeping, emotional ballad. A little sad, a little sweet. Definitely a story of love and memories.

Time Travel (Unwound Future) is a distinctive, memorable melody that starts off somewhat straightforward and subdued, but grows with power and emotion. A feeling of nostalgia and reminiscing over the past as you face the future.

Paxmaveiti (Last Specter) has a mostly sentimental and reflective feeling, yet a belting chorus, along with a section backed up by lively clapping followed by a bell’s triumphant ring. It has a feeling of hope and peace after a trial, starting fresh and looking forward to tomorrow no matter what it brings.

Mysterious Flower (Miracle Mask) is a bright and lively number with a bouncy beat. It also utilizes steel drums, giving it a summery, festive vibe. It has its own emotion, but less of a melancholy feeling and more a dramatic flair. Overall upbeat, with a satisfying, resonating ending.

Surely Someday (Azran Legacy) is very emotional and tender. Its notes are soft and somber, but its chorus is bold and sweeping. Feels like saying goodbye to someone, but promising to see them again.

Girls (Layton Mystery Journey, aka Kat’s game, both the opening and ending theme) definitely stands out from the others, though still a sweet and endearing tune. It has a bright, bold, contemporary tone. Starting a new day with excitement, facing trials and loving life anyway.

Even the ending theme of the crossover fits the bill, with its grand, pathos-filled orchestration, befitting for the dramatic conclusion of an awe-inspiring tale.
