Alright. So, this absolutely never made sense to me when I watched the shows, but now after watching both shows endings again (for like, the 5000000th time, how did I just get this now, lol), I think I’m seeing a certain view I didn’t see before that many people are confused about. So I wanna see if this makes sense to anyone else.
Ok, so some people thought that Jim was never supposed to change back in Wizards. But after looking into this, it made more sense to me.
A few people after Trollhunters season 3 came out, said that they should’ve just made the new voice actor for Jim’s voice, voice Jim as his half troll form instead of his human form and troll form. Since of course, we all thought he wasn’t going to change back.
By the point Anton passed away though, most of Trollhunters Jim was already acted out, and they’d need to make the end of season 2 completely different and probably end off season 2 with finding Merlin. Then turn Jim into his troll form by the 3rd episode of season 3 to play it out in a way where Jim’s voice only changed when he’d be turned into a troll. But it would also seem like a waste to throw all those Anton voice recordings away, and change the plot to hurry it up in season 2, where it’d almost seem too rushed and forced.
I think they mostly played it out how they did, and kept the story the way it was, so we would get used to the new voice actor acting as human Jim. So when human Jim came back, it wouldn’t seem unnatural to us since we would be so used to Anton playing him. But with us getting used to Emile Hirsch playing both of Jim’s forms and not just troll Jim’s, (especially since theres a movie coming up they’ve been writing and working on for over 5 years that would include human Jim again) it now seems like that’s somewhat of a giveaway that he could return, just watching Trollhunters season 3 and the end of Wizards.
If you think there could’ve been a different reason, feel free to say it, but with how Jim’s character was played out regarding his voice actors, it’s starting to make sense to me now with something me, and apparently many were, and are, very confused about. I wanted to post this to see if it clears anything up if this makes any sense. I’m not the absolute best at explaining so please let me know if it doesn’t

I didn’t know who Seven was and what she was like, but when I found out she was voiced by Mayuko Aoki, Yuna’s Japanese voice actress, I instantly, automatically loved her.
Kirby Morrow : August 28, 1973 - November 19, 2020
One of my favourite voice actors, and someone I had the chance to meet on several occasions. Kirby was warm and genuine and good to all his fans. He didn’t shy away from everyone queering the hell out of his characters even back in 2003 and 2004, when many other VA’s did. He was never inappropriate with his teenage fans, something that shouldn’t have to be highlighted but in this industry is so often not the case. He was sweet and giving to his community, and those who worked with him always had good things to say.
I loved his work, and I am going to miss recognizing his voice in so many things. He wasn’t just a voice actor, either, but did quite a few movies and television shows, including Stargate.

Listening to Dabi’s VA talk about why he and fans always tend to be drawn to villains while Shigaraki’s (and Idia’s) VA “cheekily” ribs him the whole time is oddly adorable and I need more of this in my life:
Our lead actors, Briggon SnowandJulia Morizawa, have both been nominated for multiple Audio Verse Awards for their performances in the audio drama podcasts “The Bright Sessions,” and “The Big Loop.” Briggon was also nominated for his work in “My Neighbors are Dead.”
Thanks to BLM, we are seeing many White voice actors stepping down from roles that are supposed to be for BIPOC. I wonder what does this mean for the anime voice acting industry in America, or even dubbing for Japanese games like Persona. Considering that the majority of anime characters are supposed to be Japanese, does this mean that studios such as Funimation will be more conscious in hiring Asian voice actors for those roles?
This will be a shock to some of you- the characters who the actor acts out is not them!
This isn’t a new thing, but I’m glad that it’s being ridiculed widely now. There are voice actors who will be harassed and death threats will be sent to them just because they voiced a character that people don’t like. In my experience the ones who I met were all just really nice.
I met DC Douglas, for example. He voiced Suguru Kamoshida (who is a child rapist) and Kira Yoshikage. (Who’s a serial killer.) DC Douglas (as far as I know) is NOT a child rapist or a serial killer. It was really cool meeting him and we talked about JoJo. (I haven’t finished part 4 at that point so he was dropping hints to Kira’s hand fetish origin.)
Likewise, McConaughey isn’t the characters he acts as. Just because his characters use guns sometimes (I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in anything) doesn’t automatically means that he’s for people having easy access to guns, especially assault rifles. (Apparently pistols has an age limit of 21 in Texas but assault rifles only has an age limit of 18? I dunno how true that is and confirming this wouldn’t do anything for my personal argument.)
I’m going to bring this up every time somebody tries blaming a voice actor for the actions of whatever anime or video game character they voiced.
(Did I use this as an opportunity to brag? No. I would have said what I said regardless. Did I take the opportunity when it was presented? Absolutely.)
