#white board
We saw a porcupine on our way home last night! Little stickers are not easy to draw
When I worked in park maintenance, there was one park that was a hot spot for seeing summer butterflies and moths. Pale swallowtails were the most common thing to see, followed by twin spotted sphinx moths. I learned so many local species of moths that summer, it was great
First white board of 2022! I do love our local slinky amphibian ❤
Last week of December, last week of Deercember, last deer of Colorado! White-tailed deer and their giant fluffy banners
Bonus process pics! Cause why not.
Long fact today! Almost didn’t have space.
A lady saw my board yesterday and didn’t know we had moose here. We have lots. I can see anywhere from 2 to 5 on my drive to work, and i LOVE IT. But also, no one ever believes our GIANT DEER are actually the little ones. So. I’m helping?
Also the Russian/siberian elk names are fun.
Continuing into my deercember adjacent whiteboards with the best deer of all ❤
No, I’m not moose-biased, why ever do you ask?
Snow squall has me behind on all my stuff today, but I still got my whiteboard deer done!
Big deer
So, I see a LOT of elk driving to/from work. Fun thing, even though they’re glow in the dark white here, at night, they dont look like elk. They look like headlights coming through the next stand of aspens, til your right on top of them
Between them, and the pitch black, too tall for their eyes to glow in the headlights moose? Yeah, we drive slow in the mountains at night
More white board muleys ❤
Back to the white boards! And since its Deercember, thought I’d do some local cervines. This week will be mule deer
Love your rattlin’ neighbors and leave them be to do their rattlin’ things ❤
I’m so so SO happy with this board. It is one of my best ones yet, I think!
Don’t kill gopher snakes for looking like rattlesnakes.
Also dont kill rattlesnakes just for being rattlesnakes.
Maybe just leave snakes alone to do their snake things, like snakes do
Local tuxedo birds shout a lot and occasionally say hi
Corvids are preeeetty awesome
I love our local mustelids ❤
There’s a weasel living by the parking garage.
A mink living under the bridge.
And the pine martens are always a treat to see.
This coyote is the mint chocolate subspecies
