LACRIMOSA | TEARFUL

Today marks Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 266th birthday. A haunting piece of music that will live forever is the Lacrimosa from his Requiem in D minor.  As you celebrate his life listen… listen with the ears of your heart, listen with your whole body, and let the listening carry you into the heart of Love.

Lacrimosa dies illa
Qua resurget ex favilla
Judicandus homo reus

Lacrimosa dies illa
Qua resurget ex favilla
Judicandus homo reus:

Huic ergo parce Deus
Pie Jesu, Jesu Domine

Dona eis requiem
Dona eis requiem

Amen

One tentative translation:

Tearful shall be that day,
When from the ashes shall arise
The sinful man to be judged.

Tearful shall be that day,
When from the ashes shall arise
The sinful man to be judged.

Thus spare them,
Dear God:O Holy Lord Jesus,

Grant them rest.|
Grant them rest.

Amen.

Filipe Melo & Luiza Dedisin - Mozart: Sonata in D major, K 448 - Molto Allegro

I find it truly magical that something that someone thought of and wrote over 200 years ago, can survive all this time and travel all the way to reach me, here, today, just to be able to put a smile on my face and make my day better. This movement is so uplifting and playful and joyous, always makes me so happy and positive after listenning to it.

Also another dream of my life, is to have a fellow pianist friend, and play this sonata with that person ;__;

Re-discovered this piece and I still can’t believe how much light and joy this brings to my little heart

Aaah I still wish I had a pianist friend with whom I could play this, what a beautiful bond this would create between us ;_;

Was für ein grausames Leben (What a Cruel Life) [From “Mozart!”]

Wolfgang Mozart: Thomas Hohler

Written by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay.

What a cruel life! What a strange world.

Everyone chances their luck and everyone gets screwed!

What’s the point of asking, when an answer never comes?

You think love must exist somewhere.

At first you cry out in despair.

Then you try believing lies.

But in the end you’re all alone.

So damnably alone. So damnably alone!
