Born Angela Gisele Brown, she’s of Afro-Panamanian descent. She’s married to Prince Maximillian of Liechtenstein, the second eldest prince.

She is a non-celebrity who married into royalty with full support of the throne. This was back in 2000. This helped pave the way for later royal-nonroyal marriages in the european monastic sphere.

Show this picture to anyone who says black girls can’t be princesses then ask them why they don’t have a palace.

The two went on to have an adorable son (Alfons, born in 2001)

Some people can only hope to look this good.

That’s all really I just wanted to let yall know that black princesses exist in every form and fashion, even in Europe. So go on and flaunt those tiaras. Add extra sparkles too, since Liechtenstein is the 3rd richest country in the world. You wouldn’t want to be inaccurate.

this is important

She’s so almost 10 years older than him

“I’m Not Black Enough” a poem by Celena Eliza

You have good hair.

No my hair is just different.

Why do you talk so white?

I didn’t realize proper grammar and education were exclusive to white people.

You’re so pretty, you must be mixed with something.

I’m surrounded by beautiful black women.

You can’t say that you’re not all the way black.

I can say what I like and I’m just as black as the rest.

Those people always make a big deal out of nothing.

Those people are my people, so come correctly.

And it was a big deal.

You can dance?? That must be the black in you.

I didn’t know you had to be black to dance.

You don’t eat meat?? That must be the white in you.

I didn’t know you had to be white to care about your health.

You’re from the hood?? you don’t look like it.

What does someone from the hood look like?

How does it feel being lightskinned?

Well seeing as the shade of the color of my skin doesn’t affect my mood I couldn’t tell you.

I don’t consider you black because you aren’t ghetto

What is ghetto? Why is it associated with being black?

You don’t really act black?

What is acting black??

Why must I behave a certain way to claim my heritage??

You’re not really black.

Who are you to tell me what I am…..

Nguzo Saba: The Seven Days of Kwanzaa
2019 Digital Print Series

Honestly, I don’t know shit about this holiday even though I am African-American but it deserves recognition.

“Nguzo Saba” is a Swahili term for the seven principles that define Kwanzaa and its aspirations for the African-American community. The holiday is not religious and was created in the 1960′s with the intention to promote Pan-Africanism during a tumultuous time of racial tension in America.

Each day from December 26th to first day of the New Year represents a principle. Similar to the menorah on Hanukkah, a “kinara” holds seven candles for each day of the celebration and are lighted.

The principles and their terms are as follows in the order of each portrait:

Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), Ujima (Collective Work and Responsiblity), Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), Nia (Purpose), Kuumba (Creativity), and Imani (Faith)

Happy Holidays and I look forward to 2020! Thank you.
