Otogelib community 2021 Roadmap
Hello,
Just a quick update about what the translation groups in our community are planning for 2021!
1. Amnesia Later & Crowd:
- Project leader: Jenni
Amnesia Later & Crowd is 100% translated, and it’s in the proofing & beta testing stage. The group doesn’t have an estimated release date yet, though. If you want to help out proofing and beta-testing, please join our discord: https://discord.gg/8AX8VuhuHc. Any help is appreciated!
The patch will be released for Android and hacked Playstation vita.
2. Black Wolves Saga ~Weiss und schwarz~
This game contains 2 parts: Bloody nightmare and Last Hope. The first part - Bloody nightmare is fully translated by https://twitter.com/bakemeatzand@orlandoblue. We got their permission to use the translation for the patch. We thought of releasing both parts when Last hope translation is done by the community, but as of now, nobody is interested in translating Last Hope. Thus, we decided to release Bloody Nightmare patch for hacked PlayStation vita as a demo patch.
Because it’s a demo patch, it will contain lots of errors, but I don’t think that there are enough people interested in this game to work on the patch. So we decided to release the patch as-is. The estimated date should be around Fall 2021. Please join our discord if you want to help with beta testing.
The patch will be released for hacked Playstation vita.
3. Brothers Conflict:
- Project Leader: Emi
The group translating Brothers Conflict is planning to release a demo patch of the first part of the game - Passion Pink. Most of the translation was done by @passionandbrilliance.
The patch will be released for hacked Playstation vita.
4. KLAP!! Kind love and punish
- Project Leader: Skye
KLAP is 30% translated by Skye, we’re planning to release the demo video in 1 month.
That’s it for today! Remember, Otogelib is a community and you’re free to join and help out now!
Please join our discord: https://discord.gg/8AX8VuhuHc or fill out the application forms located in the sidebar if you want to help out!
Hi there, Reishiki, leader of Otogetranslations here.
I started this group in October last year to gather translators to work on Collar x Malice Unlimited, I didn’t think it would grow this much from a small group of <5 people to a… group of >20 people. A lot happened but I’m glad to have a loving group of translators/members that always trust in me and help me get through all the drama and stress I have when maintaining this group.
I know I decided to stop after Diabolik Lovers Limited V Edition English patch accident, but I thought it’s a bit unfair for you, for us, that we wasted all our efforts of hacking/managing/translating stuff. So I think of a new project that can live only with community support. I’m not the leader of this project, but you guys—the community is. In that sense, I stopped, but the community didn’t.
So, what’s our new project?
A Public otome game translationslibrary athttps://otogelib.tumblr.com/ which everyone can view the text translation, seeing translation progress in real-time, and anyone can apply as a translator/proofreader. You can view/edit spreadsheets anywhere with an internet connection and a mobile device. And basically, you can translate any sentence/route you want without being afraid that someone already worked on it.
That’s@otogelib! The library is still growing, so if you have friends that interested in helping, please reblog/share/retweet this. After all, this project only can survive with community support :).
This project is the last thing I can do for the otome community. That is providing scripts for you guys to translate in the most comfortable way, or to practice reading/translating Japanese, to have a way to learn Japanese that you guys can enjoy, and help other otome lovers in the progress. :)
When a game is completed translating, I might make patches for people who bought the game. Otherwise, you can just play the game and read along. :)
What you can do for this project:
If you know Japanese or fluent in English and would like to help to translate/proofreading:
TRANSLATORS APPLICATION
PROOFREADERS APPLICATION
If you don’t know Japanese and just want to help:
You can go around Tumblr/twitter and message translators/fans of these projects and see if they’re interested in translating and let them know about this project :).
Thanks for reading, and remember to spread the word! If you have more questions, just send me a message via Tumblr/twitter or email me [email protected]
Current Project Spreadsheets:
- AMNESIA LATER
- BLACK WOLVES SAGA
- HAKUOKI SSL
- VARIABLE BARRICADE
- NIL ADMIRARI NO TENBIN
Hi, leader of Otogetranslations here.
Although I’ve decided not to start any projects by myself, there are some projects that we collaborate with other groups/translators. They need more help so I’m creating this post in order to recruit some translators for them.
Those projects are:
- Hakuoki SSL: Need more translators and proofreaders. Leader: @coquettishcat-blog
- Brothers Conflict: Need more proofreaders and translators for Brilliant Blue. Leader: @passionandbrilliance
- Black Wolves Saga Last hope: This project started by me but there are some passionate people still want to work on it, so I think if you want to, why not join?
What you need:
- Japanese knowledge.
- You must be fluent in English.
- You must be an English native speaker if you want to be a proofreader.
- Internet connection.
- Smartphone/tablets or Laptops.
What you will do:
- Work on a google spreadsheet which contains the scripts of the game, like the image below:
- You can work from anywhere, at any time (ie. when you’re waiting at the bus/train station) as long as you have an internet connection and a smartphone/tablet using Google Sheet app.
What you can do to join us:
Send an email to [email protected] with this form:
Name:
Country:
Alias: (Name you want to be credited in)
Email: (The exact EMAIL you will be using to edit the google sheet, Gmail is preferred since we will be working on a google sheet)
Japanese knowledge: N1/N2/N3/N4/N5 (You don’t have to take the exam to be sure, self-learning is okay, just try to estimate your current knowledge equal to which JPLT.)
Which project do you want to work on:
“I promise I won’t share the sheet and/or the translation patch to anyone else when it becomes available.”
After receiving your email, I’ll reply back and invite you to work on the spreadsheet.
Benefit:
- If you already owned the game, you can request from me the demo patch with the current translated lines in the sheet, I’ll pack it and send it to you.
- Who knows, if you want to translate any idea factory vita game, we might be able to help you with the hacking stuff :)
Thanks! Please reblog this post and spread the words so a lot of people could join.
As you guys have known, Black Wolves Saga has a complete English translation by @orlandoblue. You can view the patch here.
But the problem is, the patch is for Visual Novel Reader, and a lot of people are having trouble with it and they’re unable to play the game in English.
I did make VNR work a couple of months ago, but now I can’t…
So I figured I’d make this guide on how to make an English patch of Black Wolves Saga. Please note that before using the existing translation, you MUST ask @orlandoblue first for their permission.
It’s not hard, it just takes a lot of efforts of… copy-pasting if you’ve got permission to use existing translation.
THIS METHOD ALSO WORKS WITH KEN GA KIMI!!
End results:
You can see that my font has some spacing issue, it varies from PC to PC, I tried with another PC and the font works fine.
Anyway, if someone completed making a patch, I’ll help with the changing font issue. For now, I’ll just show you the way to change the text and insert it back into the game.
Software needed:
- AE VN Tools: http://wks.arai-kibou.ru/ae.php?p=dl
- Notepad++ (optional): https://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/
- Black wolves saga PC game.
Step 1:
Go into the directory of the game, and find scenario.rpd. This is the archive that contains all the texts of the game. It should be located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rejet\BLACK WOLVES SAGA -Bloody Nightmare-\Resource
Step 2:
Start AE - VN Tools by clicking on AE.exe. The program looks like the screenshot below.
Click Archive Tool -> choose [RPD] Rejet.
Step 3: Drag and drop the Scenario.rpd file into the tool. It should look like this.
Click on Extract All Files. Choose the directory that you want to put all the text files into.
Now let’s say you want to edit the prologue of the game. Click the file pc-01_main-01.lt, and open it with Notepad++. The texts of the game are there.
All you have to do is change the Japanese text to English based on the existing English translation or make your own translation.
After you’re done, press CTRL + S to save the file.
For repacking those back into the game, we can also use AE - VN Tools:
Click on Create archive and choose to Create from directory. Make sure that you still have + [RPD] Rejetchosen.
Now choose the directory that you extracted the files into. It should be like this:
Scenario.rpd~
For me it’s this directory:
Now the game will ask you where to save the newly created file. Just type in Scenario.rpd and you’re done!
Finally, copy the newly created .RPD file to the Resources folder of the game. Make sure to back up the original Japanese file first, in case something happens.
Start the game and enjoy!
