Romance Anime Recommendations (Part 2)

#5. Diabolik Lovers

While not many people enjoy this anime, I seem to have quite the liking to the story line. Yui is dropped off, by her priest of a father’s wishes, to an unknown kingdom while he goes overseas to work. At the kingdom, she meets six vampire brothers who are persistently drinking her blood and exercising their unique charms against her. While Yui isn’t the most confident or firm in her protest of them drinking her blood every chance they want, learning of their difficult and morbid pasts really makes you learn more about just how rough these guys have had it. I just wish the guys would be a little easier on Yui, she’s had it rough and they persist on teasing her, ugh.

#6. Kamigami no Asobi

Trapped inside a mythical world created by Zeus with eight other beautiful gods? Count me in! This anime incorporates the cultures of other countries take of mythology, and makes them into gorgeous anime men who need to learn the function and emotions of human life. Yui is a normal high school girl who is responsible for educating these handsome God’s, while also trying to learn more about them and their unusual lives in the process. This anime truly made me cry, and to those of you who have saw it and know that tricky ass ending they give you, you know what i’m talking about ;)

#7. Brother’s Conflict

Ah, where do I begin with this unusual anime? Chii/Ema’s father marries a woman, making her gain 13 new step-brothers who she is going to move in with and learn more about. The weird part of it, however, is that they all seem to fall in love with her as soon as she steps foot into the house. With each brother being of different age, personality, and career, its quite interesting and entertaining seeing them desperately throw themselves at her despite their new sibling bond. It’s quite comical to watch I will give you that, I just wish there was more to watch :( I need to know what brother she wants.

#8. Dance with Devils

Ritsuka, being the forbidden grimoire in which both devils and vampires are desperately after for its amazing and dominate power, finds herself thrown into the mess regardless of her will. However, with her exorcist brother’s expertise in defending off evil spirits, he is undoubtedly by her side after their mother is kidnapped by vampires as a leverage against Ritsuka. Along the way, we find out that devil’s are manipulative beings, playing with Ritsuka’s emotions just to obtain her trust and get their hands on the grimoire power. Rem, devil royalty, has other plans for the grimoire goddess, but falling in love wasn’t part of them..hmm.. If you enjoy a good devil romance, totally check this out, I loved every second of Rem’s sweetheart.

#9. Uta no Prince Sama

Japanese boy bands, i’m just saying. Nanami is a a piano composer who creates phenomenal music for STARISH, a boy band she put together when all seven guys desperately wanted them to work for her. Between singing contests, concerts, and their love for Nanami, these boys go through four seasons worth of drama. Up against boy bands who would do anything to get to the top, even going as far as to try and steal the award winning composer away from them. I’m thankful that this anime is still active to this day, however im impatient as hell and want the new season/movie to come out now.

#10. Yona of the Dawn

Yona is a badass princess who flee’s her kingdom with her trusted guardian after she is stabbed in the back by her best friend, and crush, after his evil act against her family. While on the run, this innocent princess finds out that she is a master dragon who must find her other guardians to help protect her and aid her in her journey’s. With drama, friendships, and romance all on the line, this anime truly had me hooked until the end and BEGGING for more. If you have time and have no idea what the watch next, please, give Yona a shot.

Be Mine is a Valentines themed set that I started at the end of 2017. Every prompt is something that I personally associate with the Holiday, and each one has a love or romance theme.

This happened some time ago, my Japanese anime loving friend asked me if I wanted to come with her to anime shops. She also asked if I wanted to go to anime cafe and yes sure I wanted a new experience! We went to Animate shop in Osaka which also has a cafe. The theme at that time was Brothers Conflict and I hadn’t watched the anime at that time but I wanted to go there anyway and see what it’s like. The anime theme changes from time to time for example in Tokyo they had Free! at that time. There has also been for example Magi, Prince of Tennis, Uta no Prince-sama.

To get to the cafe you have to make a reservation (in Japanese). Choose the time you want to go and how many people. My friend did the reservation so I can’t really talk much about how to do it. When you arrive at the reserved time you have to tell your name, reservation number and also show some kind of id. According to my friend it hasn’t always been that strict.

Inside the cafe is decorated with posters of the anime and they show episodes on tv. Also the theme music plays in the background. The worker took us to our table and a bit later on when everyone were seated you could the instructions. I didn’t really listen since I had a Japanese friend who would explain to me later on but it was about how to order and what comes with it, etc. But you had a paper which you wrote your order.

The menu was based on the characters. I took Iori’s cake and Natsume’s melon soda with ice cream for a drink. When you bought something you could get free goods, coaster or a bookmark. They would be random. Since I didn’t know the characters at that time I picked my favourites based on what they looked like. (I’ve seen so many animes I can tell about the character’s personality by what they look like lol) I chose Iori and Masa. My friend likes Subaru because she is a huge Daisuke Ono fan. haha I got Tsubaki and my friend got Subaru coasters. I also got a bookmark with several characters. My friend said that since Tsubaki is one of the popular characters we might be able to trade him with someone else. At the end the girl next to our table actually asked can we trade and she had Iori! :D I also got a padge for the bookmark.

But before that while eating you could get the badges from gatcha machines. You could take photos inside so I spent my time doing that before our food arrived. The food was delicious! I also tasted the omurice and it was good.

At one point we all did rock paper scissors with one of the staff. I won the first round but lost the second. I think you could’ve win some coupons or something like that. Anyway I had fun and I had to watch Brothers Conflict after that! I was right about my favourite character in the end. haha

Before the cafe we were checking the anime shop on the lower floor, it has a lot of goods when it comes to new animes. Also there is a second hand anime merch shop on another floor. You can buy not only used but also gatcha machine toys you want without concern of not getting your favourite. I recommend going there!

Hi there, Reishiki, leader of Otogetranslations here.

I started this group in October last year to gather translators to work on Collar x Malice Unlimited, I didn’t think it would grow this much from a small group of <5 people to a… group of >20 people. A lot happened but I’m glad to have a loving group of translators/members that always trust in me and help me get through all the drama and stress I have when maintaining this group.

I know I decided to stop after Diabolik Lovers Limited V Edition English patch accident, but I thought it’s a bit unfair for you, for us, that we wasted all our efforts of hacking/managing/translating stuff. So I think of a new project that can live only with community support. I’m not the leader of this project, but you guys—the community is. In that sense, I stopped, but the community didn’t.

So, what’s our new project?

A Public otome game translationslibrary athttps://otogelib.tumblr.com/ which everyone can view the text translation, seeing translation progress in real-time, and anyone can apply as a translator/proofreader. You can view/edit spreadsheets anywhere with an internet connection and a mobile device. And basically, you can translate any sentence/route you want without being afraid that someone already worked on it.

That’s@otogelib! The library is still growing, so if you have friends that interested in helping, please reblog/share/retweet this. After all, this project only can survive with community support :).

This project is the last thing I can do for the otome community. That is providing scripts for you guys to translate in the most comfortable way, or to practice reading/translating Japanese, to have a way to learn Japanese that you guys can enjoy, and help other otome lovers in the progress. :)

When a game is completed translating, I might make patches for people who bought the game. Otherwise, you can just play the game and read along. :)

Hi, leader of Otogetranslations here.

Although I’ve decided not to start any projects by myself, there are some projects that we collaborate with other groups/translators. They need more help so I’m creating this post in order to recruit some translators for them.

Those projects are:

- Hakuoki SSL: Need more translators and proofreaders. Leader: @coquettishcat-blog

- Brothers Conflict: Need more proofreaders and translators for Brilliant Blue. Leader: @passionandbrilliance

- Black Wolves Saga Last hope: This project started by me but there are some passionate people still want to work on it, so I think if you want to, why not join?

- You must be fluent in English.

- You must be an English native speaker if you want to be a proofreader.

- Internet connection.

- Smartphone/tablets or Laptops.

- You can work from anywhere, at any time (ie. when you’re waiting at the bus/train station) as long as you have an internet connection and a smartphone/tablet using Google Sheet app.
