after my first few months of living in the bookshop last year, i’m excited to return this upcoming january as the wigtown artist in residence.
i’m looking for book lovers of all ages and backgrounds throughout scotland for a portrait series. if you or anyone you know has a cozy home library (could be a full room or just a tiny shelf!), a favorite reading spot, or just love books, please get in touch! i’d love to include you in my project <3

It’s important to find joy where you can in hard times. Today for me that looked like spending an hour browsing a used bookstore and buying these lovely finds. Take time for yourself, away from your phone. You deserve some peace.
I’m at that stage of my obsession where I buy books by kilo.
Come over, have a drink with us, and join author David Nicholls for a chat in our shop! All proceeds go to Oxfam.
And if that doesn’t appeal, here’s a reminder that we also host a monthly book club, and a knitting club. There will be tea. And biscuits. And books, we have lots of those. You can’t say we don’t spoil you.
