I’m not saying Apollonius of Rhodes is a bad writer, but he sure could be better. The Voyage of Argo is not the worst book I’ve ever read, it’s just very boring. Although, when Jason lays down and prepares for his miserable death, that’s a hell of a hoot to read.

Year 1 of uni done for!! Ahhh!! Y'know?

tis-me-julius-caesar:

20.05.21

Latin exam make brain go :(( I’ve been doing it for 6 and a half hours. On the upside, I have had my last day of uni, just got an essay in for Monday :))

21.05.21

I overall spent around 10 hours on it. But hey I’ve handed it in, and now I only have to find 500 more words for my essay!! Go me!!

Latin exam make brain go :(( I’ve been doing it for 6 and a half hours. On the upside, I have had my last day of uni, just got an essay in for Monday :))

12.05.21

Latin being Latin, and my classmates being my classmates, they just had to ask what Fascinum means (not appropriate to ask, it means dildo :| ) And then our teach, who honestly deserves better than them as students, went on for 9 minutes explaining what “Fascinum” would’ve been used for. I am both cringing and laughing, “it’s a symbol of masculine energy” please stop!! Altho this is where the word fascinated comes from. (Here’s some proof I was doing work :)) )

20.04.21

Have any of y'all read any of Catullus’ poems because oh my holy macaroni are you in for a treat. He goes from

To

Can y'all just appreciate the range? Stunning.

18.04.21

Went for a walk to distract me from the boredom that is past participles. Honestly, Latin needs to up it’s game, it’s making me insane. Not even kidding. I think I’ve worked them out, but I guess I won’t know till our exam.

New hot take in today’s class: Caelius had daddy issues.

Whilst doing a presentation, this guys decided to put on a fake English accent? When he already has an English accent? Not a diss, just an observation.

Fellas is it gay to top? According to the Greeks, no :)

13.04.21

Although I am aware I can’t take pictures I also don’t care so I will continue to inflict them upon you. Writing some mysterious letters until I can find motivation to finish writing this review on what can only be described as the world’s worst book. No offence to Plausus, but Casina needs improvement, and also makes no sense :) 0.4/10

12.04.21

So I made a playlist which personally I think is pretty good, and is now my go to study playlist. It’s upbeat enough that you don’t get bored whilst studying but not too upbeat that you get distracted from studying. Y'know?

12.04.21

First day back after Easter holidays and I’m already doing too much work. On the upside to go with my Latin I have a great essay about Polyphemus, y'know the cyclopes, and how he fell in love with the nymph Galatea and her rejection of him turned him into a canabalistic monster :) It just be like that sometimes.

25.01.21

Currently writing my third 1500 word essay of the year, how is this fair? Actually made a plan, and a mind map, and did research for this one though, and I can honestly say it is a vast improvement. Latin can go choke it’s self on the disgustingness that are cases. I mean, why would I need to know if it’s nominative or not, that’s not something I know about the English language and it has never stopped me from my vague understanding of it. Found I have a two week holiday coming up cus the university sucks at planning, so be prepared for me to actually do some notes for once. Started unofficially doing 100 days of productivity and I’m up to 15 days, I know consider me just as shocked.

29.11.20

So it turns out that both when you do work and don’t do work you don’t tend to take a lot of pictures as evidence of work. But I learnt about Tiberius and Gaius and lemme just say those guys deserved so much better. Like all they wanted to do was help, at least according to Plutarch so maybe we’re not gonna 100% believe it but at least they didn’t kill 300/3000 people and then dump their bodies in the Tiber and then go hmm damn we killed em but actually they were pretty good and now I kinda wish they weren’t dead, and then they were like hmm let’s just build a monument to them, um anyways. Have a merry Christmas? I sure am gonna be doing some fun reading
