I do have a theory that Star Wars has gotten weepier since Disney took it over, but perhaps that’s too big a claim to substantiate. Personally, I find myself drawn to the dark humor you find more often in older stories.

Gary at the White House Correspondence dinner with some humans.

@teslatricity HAVE YOU SEEN THIS SHIT OMG

My favorite part is that in the recap article on the dinner that I read, it was mentioned that Carrie came with Gary, but there was no mention of Tom anywhere.

I think we’re missing the biggest news here: We got to see Ransolm Casterfo (fancast by author Claudia Gray as Tom Hiddleston) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) from Gray’s excellent novel Star Wars: Bloodline together!  With added puppy as bonus!

Marguerite is ready for life to settle down after her trip through the portals of reality. Her family is safe, for now. But when her boyfriend is kidnapped, she’s forced to venture through reality again to find him.

I love these books! I wasn’t expecting to love them as much as I did. As soon as I got this one in the mail, I picked up the first one and adored it, so of course I was so excited to read this one!

Just like the first book, Ten Thousand Skies Above You had adventure and romance, and awesome science blended in. I definitely love Marguerite, who has a great style and even better character traits. I loved seeing her inner struggle with her “taking over” other versions of herself, and how she dealt with the repercussions of her actions in other people’s bodies.

Paul and Theo aren’t my favorites, to be honest. I find Theo whiny and Paul boring. But the plot is so exciting that I don’t mind that Marguerite had such lame love interests. Plus she was so cool and well written, so that helped too. Her family was also awesome!

It seems like a book that deals with going through portals of reality could be super confusing, but Gray writes it so well I was never confused. I definitely recommend picking up this beautiful series!

This piece was immensely challenging because I had to overhaul some elements on a dime. The biggest one was the setting, which used to be completely different. I felt sad about that but I think the final is the right choice because it’s more suggestive and distinctive.
