In ‘Barbie The Princess And The Pauper’ Wolfie is an allegory for not fitting into the gender binary.

So I was watching 'Barbie the Princess and the Pauper’ cuz memories and I’m a nerd THE REASONS NOT IMPORTANT

Anyway, the song 'The cats meow’ suddenly had a completely new meaning to me.

If you’ve never watched the movie, or can’t remember, the protagonist’s cat Wolfie doesn’t meow, he barks.

When Wolfie starts trying to meow instead of bark, Erica (Barbie) notices.

“I can see it when you’re feeling low

You can’t hide that from me

You’re no status quo calico

So why keep trying to be?”

This childrens movie shows a character who was born a cat (feminine) but has always found it more natural to bark like a dog (masculine). Not only is his friend supportive of that, she loves it.

“if you bark

Celebrate it

Make your mark

Serenade it

Noah’s ark

Shoulda had a cat like you.

And if what you are

Is a strange you

Doesn’t mean

You should change you

Only means

You should change your point of view.”

It’s a message so needed in today’s society and it was made in 2004!? And directed at young children!? It’s so amazing and I’m so proud. This honestly made me cry.

“There is not

One hair on you

That I would rearrange

I love you

The way you are

And that will never change

That will never change.”

You are different. And it’s amazing. Your imperfect and that’s perfect. Be yourself, you are always worthy of unconditional love.

It’s such a powerful message and I’ve heard noone talking about it?

Nix Hydra really needs to get in contact with the folks at Voltage who used to operate Lovestruck and get some pointers on how to make female routes successful, because in the end Lovestruck was staying alive due pretty much solely to their lesbian fan base.

Right now the only decent female route Fictif has is Anisa and she’s on hiatus, Tess’s story was a mess, and sorry to Celia fans but she just did not interest me character or story wise she felt very shallow and undeveloped (like she was just “hot femme fatale” and that was kind of all there was to her). The rest of the female LIs are involved in group stories where the dudes get most of the screen time and options anyway.

I’ll try reading this new pirate story they’re doing but my expectations are super low right now tbh

sometimes I think about that person who unironically said that anakin/vader murdering the younglings in RotS was a kindness/mercy to them and want to bury my face in a pillow and scream for 10 years.

I am so incredibly fed up with these ‘loving’ people that fight for ‘freedom’ and organize huge events against covid-19 measurements. Why can’t they see it’s super egocentric what they’re doing? They’re the ones that can afford to stay at home. Why are they now suddenly critical of freedom and privacy being invaded? Oh, because for the first time, it affects them personally. Do they advocate for general freedom of movement? Of course not, it only bothers them that they cannot go on holidays. Seems they couldn’t care less about people being detained for not having papers and/or fleeing war and poverty. If someone asking you to wear a mask and keep some distance to protect others is ‘oppression’, you are swimming in privilege.
I don’t care about someone not being ‘scared’ of covid-19 personally; I only care about them not infecting others to whom it’s more likely to be deadly or destroying their quality of life. Yes, mental health is important, and we need to battle isolation. But a shitload of yuppies coming together to ‘fight for freedom’ without being critical of borders, systemic oppression due to racism or the deadly consequences of capitalism isn’t going to help anyone but themselves. In contrary, it’s going to cost lives of people that didn’t have the possibility of making a choice. And I see more and more individuals around me being sucked into all kinds of conspiracy theories; often linked to right-wing propaganda. If only they could work in the hospital for one week to experience what it’s like to be around people that are fighting for their lives, who are being cared for by people that are completely exhausted…

i always want to tell the people rly into class politics/stupol people that i think call out culture+activist clique culture is truly a sign of generalised emotional insecurity and anxiety under capitalism coming from fixed mindsets/needing to be “right”/overidentifying with activism as a static way to give meaning to life and that we need to supplement any movement with emotional healing and therapy so we can:

  • stop judging people’s worth by how good their politics are (all people are inherently worthy)
  • stop judging politics as only “good” or “bad”, instead focusing on what the politics actually are
  • validate and understand people who do ‘problematic’ things because of lack of education
  • validate and understand people who have difficulties with reflexivity/find it hard to interrogate their beliefs (though if these people’s actions are impacting you, you dont have to be present to them)
  • validate and understand people who feel alienated from politics because of past experience
  • become flexible to changing contexts and situations
  • become flexible to other people’s viewpoints and more willing to take them on board
  • build a self out of values that will survive even if your activism and politics were no longer necessary (i.e. learn to enjoy yourself regardless)

money leads to wealth and poverty,

money leads to power and control,

money leads to hate.

The ideology of humans

is making money…

Singing is my absolute favourite thing to do.

I used to sing in front of my parents but my mum would just give me little negative comments which hurt me.

It seems like it’s impossible for her to say something nice about me.

I think I could have Beyoncé’s voice and she would still have critised me.
